Howard didn't announce the date, but went on a long discussion about Gregg, the Allmans, and how he will be on his show next week.

It should be awesome. Two of my favorite entertainers talking to each other.

Gave me the chills and it should be a nice long interview. I was so hoping he was going to be on Howard's show.

Stern (like Conan) is a huge Allman Bros fan of course. Stern & co were practically in awe of Elijah Blue Allman when he was on the show a couple of years back, now it will be the real deal.

This is going to be awesome. Was wonderig if he was going to do Howard. Howard talks about his love for Duane when they start talking best guitarists. I am anxious to see how Gregg takes to him. Howard also is a big Stills fan. That interview was difficult for Howard; Stills didn't give up a whole lot. I think Gregg will be a bit more forthcoming particularly with the frankness of his book. No one can interview like Howard IMO.

It's is very interesting and Howard is a huge fan, but Gregg is speaking so slow and labored. I don't know what to think.

Today's show repeats all day long on channel 100.

The interview was brutal, Gregg could not seem to put two words together.
He laughed quite a few times, but most of the replies to questions were one or
two words.

Don't know if this is normal for Gregg at this stage, but I was very disappointed, was
hoping to hear some good stories.

Gregg's getting butchered on Twitter.

Lots of tweets about how his wanting to be a dentist was spot on since the interview was like pulling teeth.

Very, very bad interview. Whoever set this up should've known better than to put him on the air. He sounded like he had a stroke- or a few.

Years ago, late 90's early 2000's, when the Brothers came to Atlanta every summer and radio stations Z93 and 96 Rock were still in exsistence they absolutely loved the Brothers. They would build up the upcoming shows weeks in advance and I remember on serveral occasions hearing interviews with Gregg on the day of the shows. If I could describe those interviews with Gregg in one word, it would be brutal. Gregg wasn't forthcoming with any info and getting an answer was like pulling teeth, as others described today. Always felt bad for the DJ's interviewing him as they were big fans and super excited about the shows, but Gregg wouldn't give them any effort. Don't know if he isn't comfortable or just didn't give a crap.

It sounds like nothing has changed in that regard. Odd though, considering he is trying to promote his book. Maybe 8 AM is a bit early for Gregg, mostly considering he was on the West Coast just two days ago. Hopefully it is just a case of all the things I mentioned and not anything health related...judging by the past I would assume that is the case.

I hope Piers doesn't eat him alive tonight.

I would say that, but he seemed to be the same on Conan last week. You heard more from Conan than you did from Gregg.

For once, Howard wasn't talking over a guest and Gregg just could not put a sentence together. It's almost like he needed 10 seconds to process every question, then a minute to answer anything.

It was really hard to listen to and these are two of my most favorite entertainers on the earth.

Accurate observation you made. That's pretty much the way it went down.

It's no secret that Gregg seems to be more of a reserved type & introspective. Throw in the health issues that may possibly impact him differently day to day...well it may not make for the best interviews.

Thinking about you said, I went back and watched Gregg's apperance on CBS Sunday Morning from Winter '10/'11:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP5G0G8Op-E

Night and day from the Conan apperance. It seems that Gregg was yet to fully recover from overworking himself in 2011, culminating with his respiratory infection in Europe and, according to his book, his "code blue" in September of that year. Maybe he sustained damage at that time that he may never fully recover from...his mind and thought process have slowed from it?

Obviously he has had health issue after health issue since September and he has yet to fully recover from all of those yet and maybe one day, after enough rest, he will recover and return to old form? Alot of the noted performance issues started during those Nov of 2011 ABB shows and continue till today. Obviously after watching the CBS piece you can't say it is directly the fault of the transplant because he looked and sounded great in winter of 2010/2011, 6 months removed from the transplant. Gregg not being a good interview is nothing new, him speaking deliberately is also not new, but I agree that he seems a bit "slowed" these days in interviews and concerts.

I know Gregg was in great pain at Wanee, but one of the things my friends and I discussed, and was most bothersome, was that Gregg was off time and slow delivering the lyrics...we were having a hard time understanding why that was taking place. I mean I get forgetting lyrics, not being able to project vocally, and running out of breath, but I didn't understand not having the ability to deliver the lyric on time when he knew it. Maybe this speaks to that?

I hope that the month and a half break after the end of the book tour does wonders for Gregg. I know we are lucky that he is still with us and I will enjoy him as he is, but I hope he is able to return to form with some more rest.

Ryan
