John Fogerty is coming to London, Ontario in September. Tickets go on sale this Friday. I'm thinking of going and I am curious to know whether anybody has seen him and what's their opinion of the show. Apparently he is performing the albums Cosmos Factory and Bayou Country on different nights. The London show is Bayou Country. I don't have that album but I remember the cool cover. I'm assuming it has Born on the Bayou which is a great song.

I haven't seen him in a few years but he was great. The band was tight, top notch players and sounded pretty much like CCR.

Bayou Country songs:

Born on the Bayou
Bootleg
Graveyard Train
Good Golly Miss Molly
Penthouse Pauper
Proud Mary
Keep on Chooglin'

I've seen Fogerty three times, the last being maybe five years ago. He's always been great. I have tickets for August 2nd @ The Mountain Winery in Saratoga. My recommendation is GO. And you certainly can't lose with Born On The Bayou or Cosmo's Factory. In my opinion those are Creedence' two best records. I hope I get Cosmo though; Creedence got VERY R & B with that one.

John is great and sounds pretty much as he always has. As mentioned, the band is real good and they pack the setlists full of CCR greats.

If you like CCR then you will enjoy. Not everyday that you get to see a legend.

X 10 on what everyone said. GREAT musicians, and extended jams on the old 2 1/2 minute radio hits.
John can certainly still bring it.

john still sounds roughly the same as he always did. he can still hit the notes but oddly enough his voice is smoother now than it was back in the CCR era.

Thanks for the input. Looks like John has a 100% approval rating (he's a fortunate son). Buying tix on Friday.

John Fogerty puts on a great high energy show. Superb musicians in his band and his voice is still amazing. Since those early CCR albums had rather short playing time there will be plenty of room left for other CCR classics and/or solo stuff (which is of high standard too). You will have a great night.

Don't even think twice about this one. Saw him twice since his Blue Moon Swamp tour, and smiled through dang near both whole shows. Excellent performer, and the band spot on. Just a magpie to what everyone else said on this thread - cause it's all on the money.

Enjoy!

I saw John Fogerty once and it was an outstanding concert. It was either the Premonition or Blue Moon Swamp tour and it was a free show at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (stage was setup outside the museum). I expected a short show, a few hits and then a couple tunes from his latest studio album but instead it was like 3 hours long and fantastic from the first note to the last. Great mix of CCR classics, hits and key album tracks along with newer material. It was all good.

Man did he and CCR have one hell of a run back in the late 60's-70 or so. 3 albums per year and every track was outstanding. They were pretty much the only answer the US had for the Beatles domination of the charts for a few years.

Feelin' Blue was always my favorite CCR track...love almost all of them but that one stands above the rest IMO..

great thread

saw him 15 years ago, almost to the day, at the hammerstein ballroom N.Y.C., and later that year in wallingford ct., it was just fantastic both times. John was always been a "perfectionist".

Once, in 1988. Vietnam Veterans Memorial Benefit at Memorial Hall, Kansas City, KS

Hosted by Peter Fonda

Stephen Stills & David Crosby
George Thorogood & The Destroyers
John Fogerty

All Star Jam encore - "Roll Over Beethoven"

Select memories include Stills & Crosby doing "For What It's Worth," how damn cool Peter Fonda looked and how totally stinkin' drunk Thorogood was when he came back out for the all-star encore.

Bought a poster that night signed by every artist in attendance. Later stolen and sold off by a friend of a roommate so he could buy a bag. Bastard.

I saw Fogerty in 2005 when he toured with John Mellencamp. Fogerty played first. Mellencamp was really good, but Fogerty stole the show!! Played 20 songs, and only 3 were solo songs, the rest was CCR!!!!!!! Hope he comes back to Dallas soon. Can't wait for his new album!!

John Fogerty Tour - Has anybody seen him perform?

No, but I've lately thought that an acoustic tour w/ Dickey would be cool. The two of them, passing a guitar back and forth, singing & playing each others tunes, telling stories about the music they love. That, would be cool.
