Does anyone know why they never play Stormy Monday? To me it seems perfect: Gregg wouldn't have to strain his voice on it. The three Beacon shows I caught this year had me scared for Gregg's life. I bought a three day pass for Peach Fest, but I don't think my heart can bear to see him bomb another version of "Standback" (3/10) or "Come and Go Blues" (3/16).

I'm hoping he rests up this summer in time for Peach Fest. We finally got a big show I'm interested to see in Scranton. He better not blow it! Especially since I'm really only interested in about 5 bands on the bill

Seriously I hope he rests up for himself more than anything. Even if the ABB perform without him it will be better than just about any other band I've seen I'm sure. Maybe they could lure in The Mule or POA if Gregg can't make it.

As for "Stormy Monday," he really pulls that one from deep down, especially during "the eagle flies on Friday" part and others. Having hernias and slipped discs etc will really hurt the diaphragm when he uses it to sing that powerfully. he's a soft spoken guy, so to get that bellow he must really use all the muscles where he was operated on for the liver transplant, and now with the hernia surgery. It's got to be rough walking around let alone, squeezing all those muscles to sing. He is obviously a road dog and must go stir crazy at home otherwise I think he would be there recovering.
