There's very few Band songs that I don't like, so compiling a Top 10 favorites would be pretty tough for me....However, since the news about Levon broke, I've been revisiting the whole catalog, so here's some ones I've been really attached to this week...

"Home Cookin'" (Rick Danko- Vocal; from the "A Musical History" Box Set)
"Sleeping" (From "Stage Fright")
"Twilight" (from the "Night at The Palladium: Sept. 18, 1976" Bootleg)
"Book Faded Brown" (from "Jubilation")
"Acadian Driftwood" (from Northern Lights-Southern Cross")
"One Too Many Mornings" (from the Dylan Tribute CD "Tangled Up In Blues")
"Lonsome Suzie" (alternate version from "Music From Big Pink")
"The River Hymn" (from "Cahoots")
"Forever Young" (from "High On The Hog")
"Blaze of Glory" (from the 1983 "The Band Reunion" video)

The entire first disc of Rock of Ages.

Brilliant! "Unfaithful Servant" and "King Harvest" are godly!

The Band has always been one of my favorite bands. I love just about everything they put out, but I have never understood why 2 tunes off of The Basement Tapes never made it onto Big Pink: "Ain't No More Cane" and "Orange Juice Blues".

Also, their performance of "When I Paint My Masterpiece" at Bob Dylan's 30th Anniversary, with 2 accordions no less, is definitive.

Music From Big Pink is one of the finest rock albums ever. The Band was actually significantly better.

Yeah, this is extremely hard. Here's mine - and this list tracks very closely with the most-played songs on my iTunes.

Blind Willie McTell
Rags & Bones
Ophelia
Acadian Driftwood
The Weight
Stage Fright
Don't Do It (Rock of Ages version)
This Wheel's On Fire (Last Waltz version)
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
Such A Night (Last Waltz, with Dr. John)

And that's 10 already. The runners up would have to include Mannish Boy with Muddy Waters, Who Do You Love with Ronnie Hawkins, Life Is A Carnival, Whispering Pines, I Shall Be Released, Up On Cripple Creek, Rag Mama Rag, King Harvest (Has Surely Come), The Rumor, Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever (from Rock of Ages), Chest Fever, and lately, maybe even 4% Pantomime.
