My favorite Gregg album by far. for me, it's as close as I'll ever get to his soul .

From the same anthology, great solo rendition of Catfish Blues (aka "Rolling Stone").

It is a shame, a terrible shame that this wonderful release is out of print.

I wrote the liner notes for this and was pretty involved with Kirk West in putting this album together. I still love it and am very proud to have been involved. A real shame.

This is my favorite Gregg Allman album. I listen to it as much as any ABB recording. Gregg solo with an acoustic guitar is some of the most haunting music I've ever heard. And he's a pretty good acoustic guitarist too. it's nice to hear his playing. The other outtakes and jams are pretty cool too.

X2

When I first bought this CD set & listened to it, I thought like I had just found buried treasure. Gregg solo with an acoustic guitar would be a show worth seeing.

I feel exactly the same way. I'd love to hear the tapes that didn't make it on to the album too.

Haunting is a great way to describe it.

The song "Rain" touches me in a way I never thought a song could do.

I just love these "One More Try: An Anthology" appreciation threads -- because I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "one More Try."

Yes, haunting, intimate, soulful, beautiful ...
