screen capture from Susea

Hi again, my career retrospective interview with Jerry Jemmott has just been published:
http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=41597

Petty amazing guy, with Duane at the beginning and end of his career, with Mike Bloomfield on stage at the Fillmore East when Johnny Winter got his lucky break. With Aretha and Ray Charles at the Fillmore West. Friend of Jaco Pastorius and on and on.

He's a great musician and a wonderful person who deserves lots of recognition.

Jerry is the real deal. What a musician and what a career! Last year when Gregg Allman's European tour dates were announced i send an email to Jerry's official website to inquire if he would be in Gregg's band for that leg of the tour and he send me an email himself confirming those dates and thanking me for my appreciation.

"Make Your Groove Happen!"

Hey ABBDutchFan, looks like you were at the same gig in Bonn! I met up with some Dutch friends there, too bad we get to meet.

When I heard Jerry's bass sound it totally knocked me out, he is the real deal, it doesn't get much better than that.

I passed on your photo and Susea's to the editors, maybe they can work them in.

Wow, that's teamwork in action. My publisher already has Susea's photo as the lead photo!

That is cool and Jerry said the same thing but he was sorry they didn't give me credit. Oh well. I don't have a watermark on it so that's the way it goes. My pictures and video are purely for the sake of having some fun and sharing with others!

Gave Junior another reminder to get in touch with you!!

Thanks for that link, great stuff. My oldest closest friend has gotten to be friends with Jerry, and we got to hang with him and a few of the other guys for a couple of hours before the Gregg Allman show in Montgomery a couple of months ago. Just a sweetheart of a man.

Funny story, at least to me - he mentioned his wife, and having not been married too long, so I asked how long and that morphed into "Jerry, how many times you been married?"

He sorta looked down at his feet, and said "well, I've been married more than anyone in the band!"

I said "More than Gregg?!?!?!?!?!?" He laughed and nodded yes....."Six times!"

When he's back home in Jackson, MS, he occasionally plays out and about with an old college friend of mine, Chris Gill. Fingers Taylor joins them some, too.

and my other Jerry story - that same old friend booked Jerry to come over to Bham and put on a bass clinic. Rented a very nice place, and went about selling tickets thru Ticketmaster, somehow.

Well, I'm not a bass player, and really not even a musician, but "trying to support the team," so to speak, I bought a ticket. It was expensive, like $100+.

So about 2 weeks before the clinic, I mentioned how I was looking forward to it to my friend.....he said "Oh, didn't I tell you? I had to cancel it. We only sold one ticket!"

Sorry Susea, that was my bad. As you see above I did put a credit on the photo gallery, but forget to update the credit at the base of the article. Happened so fast, to quote Rick Perry, "oops" Now you're credited in the photo credits. That's generally the policy, watermarks are apt to cause the editor to look for another photo.

BTW, your videos are so excellent, have you ever considered having a 5 or 7 second intro and outro for your credits?

Thanks to everyone for the support! It's great Gregg made that call to him, a win-win for both of them, and a win for us music lovers too.

You are so kind! Thank you. Honestly I just put the stuff out there for people to enjoy. Anyone watching the videos can see they are mine and every day I get some sort of interaction from folks about a video. It's pretty cool. I just love to put it out there for others who may not get to many shows like I do.
