...and screw his constituents by remaining true to his Tea Party principles?

And if so, will those constituents demand action?

Discuss....

Of course he won't. He is, after all, a politician and therefore a hypocrite by definition.

Well, as we recall, last September he criticized the Federal Government for not giving his state enough money to fight the nasty fires that were raging in Texas at that time. And of course his whining about the Federal Government came right after he had cut volunteer firefighter funding in his state by 75% in 2011.

And he never misses a chance to brag about how he has "created" more jobs than any other state - when the majority of those jobs that he "created" were military and military - related jobs funded by the Big Bad US Government that he never misses a chance to demonize....

The one he DID get right was calling out Mitt Romney's method of "wealth accumulation" what it is - Vulture Capitalism.

I don't for a second buy that ol' Rick came up with that one on his own.

He's not smart enough to use those big words.

If it had been Rick's idea it would have been called "Buzzard Bizness".

Of course, as an ex-Texan, Ron, you know that in some of parts of that huge state they say, "Bidness"....

I cross the rio grande several times a month to and from el-paso, and its as shallow as a pi$$ puddle. I guess perry still thinks he can "pray away" the drought.

I doinb't kn0w about all that, but I will say the drought is definately over here in north central Texas. Perry is an idiot and has gutted the public education system in Texas, while continuing to gut mental health care. I can no longer stand to even look at him.

The fact that the States have to clamor for entitlements, ear marks and pork barrel spending is a travesty in itself. If Federal taxes were reduced dramatically than Local and State governments could raise taxes and spend more accordingly to the needs of the people. However, today we see that the States have been reduced to Satraps whereby failure to comply with the Federal governments policies will result in Federal funds being withheld from the States. Liddy Dole's effort to raise the national drinking age to 21 is a perfect example of this in that States that did not comply would not receive funds from the Department of Transportation.

Come now Scotty; you must know that only the Washington ruling elite have the smarts to know best how and where to spend the nation's money. Just ask them!

That's an excellent example. Many states, including NY held out at first but ultimately every state complied rather than risk losing federal highway funds.
