There are a limited number of tickets available to non-residents. Unfortunately they had to have this restriction in order to get the permits from the Town to stage this event. Typical small town mentality. ____________________ The most important things in life aren't things. |

Just have a resident to purchase tickets online. you need to enter your billing zipcode to continue in the system. A nice way to keep outsiders out from exclusive Greenwich,CT-the same town that tried to thwart out of town walk-ins from using their beaches and parks, fighting all the way to the CT Supreme Court.
It wouldnt surprise me if you then have to show ID at the door too. ____________________ |

Yes, I am. Please don't everyone bombard me for ticket requests, I already purchased my allotted four and they are spoken for. This a real nice event in our town that was started last year and hopefully will continue for years to come. With the help of many donations the cost of attending is kept to a reasonable $40 for a days pass. Nice community event. Five major bands on a main stage, local entertainment on a 2nd stage, kids activities early in the day, a barbecue cook off, to just name a few of the activities. Last year we had Buddy Guy, Robert Randolph, Little Feat, Toots and the Maytals and The Temptations on the main stage in a harborside park that looks out into Long Island Sound. Real nice day. Unfortunately logistics prohibit from opening this event up to the general public, there is no way the area could handle the influx of several thousand people. A free Roberta Flack concert about 25 years ago turned into a nightmare. Looking forward to a fun day. ____________________ The most important things in life aren't things. |

Thank You Greenwich and the TTB. Great show as usual. Venue -on the water, sound- perfect, staging and lights- impressive for the ? <2000 people . We went with family who live there. WHat a treat. Almost shut out by severe weather , but it cleared and the show went on in the dry. It felt like a backyard party, they even had a jumbotron and PA on the backside of the stage pointed out to the harbor for all the boaters. That town must have high taxes(they do) cause this thing was 1st class. $40 ticket for TTB, Paul Simon, Grace Potter. On the funny side, Warren has Brian Farmer and Paul Simon has a look alike guitar tech too. He kept getting applause as he was checking Simon's guitars on the stage rig one by one. I was fortunate enough to catch most of TTB exiting and thank them for a great show. I love getting those goosebumps watching Derek smile as his wife rips off another powerful solo- some of the most heartwarming moments for me as a devotee of this great music we love. Watching a husband and wife rip it up with some of the finest music EVER brings another emotional angle to the music for me. Sorry for being gushy, but this ain't Sonny and Cher, this is our stuff taken to the seventh dimension by Derek's incredible phrasing etc. So IT is not really over, even without Duane, Berry,Jerry,Lowell,Frank Z.,Levon we do have some folks to grow older with. I bought as many copies as fit in my coat of the new TTB Live Cd from the merch table , to show my appreciation. I told Derek I needed a case of the new cd, he said his Dad wasn't there. There were several Media photogs around, I don't have anything other than a few pocket camera pix. |

Thanks for the pictures Heath! It was nice to meet you yesterday, would have liked to have hung out with you folks at the front of the stage but unfortunately I couldn't, Sue knows why.
This was the 1st time I saw TTB live and they absolutely smoked. Grace Potter also put on a killer set. We had a nice surprise when Dave Matthews, on his way to Hartford, just happened to drop by for a roughly half hour solo acoustic set that was very cool. I got there about halfway through Kirk Franklin's set whom I never heard before and enjoyed his set very much. Missed The Wailers. I left about 45 mins. into Paul Simon's set, because, quite frankly, I was bored. I mean, how can he follow a right hook from Grace Potter than a knockout punch from TTB? Also got the chance to meet Derek and have a picture taken with him. Incredibly nice and warm person. But we all knew that.
We dodged a bullet with the weather, just catching the edge of the storm. As little as 5 - 10 miles to our south they got hammered with severe lightning, high winds and hail, downed trees and power outages. Luckily, our Selectman (Mayor) was there, he's a music fan, and graciously extended the curfew so everyone was able to get a full set in. Like Snuckley said, the production was top notch. Looking forward to next year. ____________________ The most important things in life aren't things. |

Compared to our neighbors in Westchester County our taxes our peanuts. No tax dollars were used to stage this event. It all came from private donations from some of our deep pocketed residents as a show of community support, and done to keep ticket prices at an affordable level for everyone. And if you'd like to attend and still can't afford $40., they'll give you a ticket. While Greenwich will get busted on for being the gold coast of the northeast and home to some of the wealthiest in the world, fact is, this town is much more diverse and close knit than many of our neighboring towns in Fairfield and Westchester counties.
Glad to read you had a wonderful time, hope you get to come back next year! ____________________ The most important things in life aren't things. |

The person making sure the guitars were tuned was getting applause? Seems odd. ____________________ Well 30 years of heart and soul, lord we took it further than rock and roll.

71- Cause he looked like Simon, just like Farmer looks like Warren from a distance. People in the crowd near me were shouting "hey paul" as he plugged and unplugged at least 6 acoustic guitars" to the stage rig.
Hank, that's cool you didnt have to spend taxes on the show. But if I lived there and they did spend my taxes I'd be OK for that. My family member that lives there isn't in a mansion and she really enjoys the small town feel and the ability to bike for groceries. The park is beautiful. I heard they do "Opera in the park" at times too.
btw, nicest porta-John/sinks I've ever used at a show.
I am about 130miles southwest in Pa. One day I will host a festival of "our music" on my 23 acres on a hilltop. You are all invited. So I am always checking out the portable infrastrucuture being I am no concert promoter. I am shooting for the Watkins Glen experience- ABB/GD/Band with an Anders Osborne/Mike Miz thrown in to keep it crazy. |

Took the 3 hr ride down with two friends and met a few more there. Between the tasty BBQ sampling and the smokin Grace Potter/TTB sets I thought my day was complete. Dave Matthews with his unexpected 30 min acoustic set was like a WTF, did that just happen! LOL! People certainly moved right to the stage within minutes. I had never seen Paul Simon and honestly I really loved it. The entire production really impressed me. Multi-Multi-Instrumentalists in his band that made for such enjoyment. You forget half the songs he wrote until he starts playing them. I thoroughly enjoyed the show. At least 3 encores. It was excellent!
