I am very cautiously optomistic. Come on Chastain!

Chastain series A has 1 more date available saying "Supergroup Reunites". Now I'm not saying the Allman's are reuniting but damn it would be good to have them back in atlanta. I know they did not sell out those two Chastain dates a few years back I wonder if the market isn't there? Does not make much since. Does anyone know why Atlanta is always gets passed over? Did that Macon show on the 40th anniversary even sell out?
Well if they forsake Georgia again at least I got three Beacon dates next week!

I do not think that Supergroup is the ABB. There is a whole other series that also does shows (ASO) that has yet to announce their schedule, so hopefully it's that.

Oh yes, Macon sold out, and those two ATL shows in '08 were close enough to a sellout. One would most certainly sell out. Alot of Chastain shows will do much worse than ABB .

Chastain Park is a destination venue, located in one of the biggest cities in the South, near several colleges and is in the ABB's "home state"

They did not sell every seat at Chastain last time but you would never would have known to look at crowd there.

Going to be even more discouraged than usual if they bag Atlanta AGAIN so they can play SCRANTON?????

How big a ticket-buying hot bed do ya suppose that is?

Been on this site a long time and there are always threads of people begging theABB to play Atlanta but I sure don't recall a movement demanding they play, um, Scranton.

If they skip Atlanta and bomb in Scranton I doubt I'll be able to muster much sympathy.

... Scranton. Geez.

Scranton is 2 hrs from Philly and New York. Lots of fans in between.

The Southern folks on this board can complain about Scranton, but it makes sense....you have your southern festival with Wanee, now they want to bring the same spirit up north.

Scranton is a resonable driving distance from all major northeast cities and has a great history with the Brothers.

They have played montage since it first started holding concerts at the mountain and have logged more shows there than any other act....also they pack the place every time....I love it.

I hope they hit Jones Beach!!! I miss my summer dose of the ABB!!

Bethel Woods would also be a cool place as I have never been to a show there yet. The Brothers and Santana would be the perfect show for my first one there!

Point taken on the geography, but the fact remains: people attending the Scranton shows will be significantly limited to fans willing to either drive a good distance following the show or spending the night.
Why not at least play ONE show in Chastain which is in the same city as several thousand fans and WALKING distance from fans with the most disposable income?

Not understanding the ongoing Atlanta snub. I have heard they rehearse and store equiptmrnt here as well and if that is the case WHY NOT play a show in Atlanta if all your equiptment is coming here anyway?

They store Gregg in Savanah! That's not that far away!

We saw them in Scranton with moe opening and the place was packed.

Nice venue, good pre-show BBQ courtesy of Dave Ashton, the usual site members from Jersey and the Red Volvo Crue were there.

Two and a half hour drive for me, can't wait.

Don't knock it just because you can't get there.

Not knocking Scranton as much as I am saying:

If they can play Scranton they can play Atlanta.

Not once have I seen people begging them to play Scranton on this site ( or anywhere else) and it it is now an annual ritual to see multiple threads asking for Atlanta. Just watch, if (when) they bag Atlanta again, there will be plenty of fans asking why.

Montage is a cool venue pretty good tailgate scene as you aprk in a field if I remember correctly. Best venue in North East in my opinion hands down is Bethel. Only 45 minutes or so from my house which helps.LOL

When I se Santana with the Brothers I will believe it. Does not say anything on the Merryweather site about it.

I can see them doing a few of these festival dates regionally as a way to get out there this summer without a full blown tour.

Cant wait for Scranton

First off, if you look at the bottom of the poster you will see this is a LiveNation event. As little as the ABB cares about making Atlanta happy, LiveNation cares less... for them it's profit, and the demographics for Scranton are much better: the NY-Philly area population is over 20 million, Atlanta area is around 5.6 million. NY prices are higher on average than Philly. If you were looking to run a profitable festival, which would you choose?

As I said 2 weeks ago, Santana/ABB at the Comcast Theatre (formerly the Meadows) in Hartford, CT on 7.28.12. Done deal.

Unless Live Nation is in charge of the ABB's entire summer schedule, it's up to the band and their management where they play.

After winding it down for the last two years it would be another slap in the face to Atlanta fans to play summer dates once more only to skip Atlanta AGAIN.

Especially for a band that seems to at least notice if not pay attention to these kinds of requests on their site: the Macon show being a prime example...and I applaud them for that show. But they played here 20 years straight and have just stopped.
Just seems crazy that they would play summer dates and not Atlanta and it feels like a snub as I don't see a Chastain run (or somewhere else ) being any less profitable. Chastain and Macon were packed.
