I've lived near this venue my whole life and have been to every ABB show ever played there. Since they started holding concerts at Montage, when all they had was a stage at the bottom of the ski slope, the ABB has played the mountain more times than any other artist.

Eventhough Scranton is considered a secondary market, they always pack the place and sell more beer, per capita, than any other act that plays the mountain. Now that it is a state of the art summer shed, it's even better.

I know sometimes the cops give it a bad rap, but if you are smart, you won't have any trouble...I never have, and I always have more than my fair share of fun.

So happy to see this coming to my backyard, on my birthday weekend, no less.

We'll be there, the last time was great fun.

"Blues Hour" with Jack Pearson, a three guitar jamfest.

What is the camping scene in that area?

No camping for me....just booked suite at Comfort Inn which is very close.....told the reservationist I was "coming for the Peach Festival at Montage Mountain"...she knew nothing about it, but said it seemed like reservations for that weekend were picking up. I've been to this venue many times. The local sheriff's dept has pot sniffing horses on patrol. so watch out!!! Saw the original Futhrur Festival ('96-'97- Others Ones '98 ???). But a 3 day festival like this, probably with camping...it'll be a zoo !! All the local PA red necks mixed with the wookie travelers....what a 'scene' it will be. Bring it on !!!

This is only a few minutes from my house. My sister is an editor for the Scranton Times and said they have no official word on it yet. I too saw the 3 guitar fest with Jack, Derek & Warren in '05. That was awesome. The following year with Mule and ABB on the same bill was sweet too.

I'm wonder why I have doubts about this ... festival? It says "Live Nation" on the ad so I assume it's all legit?

It is surprising that no one on this site has mentioned the possiblity of an ABB NE festival? I will say, a few years ago, Butch mentioned his concept of reduced
touring by the band would be supplimented with 4 regional festivals. This would be
Number II? It's smart business and eliminates a lot of travel for the band.

It eliminates a lot of travel for me too LOL. I've been waiting for them to come back to Scranton. I've been going to Philly and NYC twice a year and the costs add up. I really feel for the Western states and Atlantians who have to travel incredibly far too. I hope they do a Western festival for those folks if this is the case.

I'm not sure why anybody is skeptical that this is real. The website is up, the festival is advertised in the programs at the Beacon, and it's been reported in Jambands and other sites. It sounds pretty tempting.

Marley,

Thanks for the details. I had no idea it was in the Beacon programs or up on the
Jambands site. My .... skepticism was only due to the way it was brought to our
attention and with no forewarning. I'm psyched for another festival.

I'm a big fan of the montage venue and the scranton area in general. This should be pretty good.

The HORDE fest in 94 was one of the best music days of all my concert experiences. The Where it All Begins era ABB tore that place up that evening.

I get the idea considering the venue, the fact there was no local news coverage before approval, and that it is LIVE NATION that this is NOT a camping festival. Everyone agree? I can imagine it would be wise to book hotels and campgrounds right away.

I am sure its a day festival type of thing where it ends with a headliner around 11:30 every night. Its an ampitheatre so I think Pete is correct.

The Peach Music Festival page on Facebook responded to a question about camping with this reply: "Fear not Peach fans, there will be camping on site! Details to follow"

I hope they have RV camping - between the ABB, Family Bands, Phil & Friends, and hopefully a little NOLA funk, it'll be worth the 6 hr roadtrip...

At least a couple of times, Warren did full sets with the Mule, Phil, and the Allmans on the same night. He can handle it.

There haven't been more details announced because they are waiting until after the Beacon. Montage isn't THAT close to New York, but it's close enough that somebody is worried people might not buy tickets to the Beacon if they know they can see the ABB in PA in August.

At least, that is my take on the fact that details will be announced March 26th, the day after the last show of the Beacon run.

I just booked Econo Lodge. Price Line says it's 1.4 miles from the Toyota Pavilion.

Scranton is 125 miles from Philly. NYC is about the same, maybe even closer.
