very, very cool!

I have heard that this Russo is a killer drummer. I did get a chane to see him around 2002 or so at a Hookahville festival whatn he played as a duo with M Benevento (spelling?). They played a good set of music but I never kept up with either musician to any extent.

everyone else in that lineup has been on my radar for years...obviously....

thanks for this update. I can't wait to hear these shows.

Joe Russo is an amazing drummer without question. He is highly physical in that he swings for the fences and delivers with complete synchronization regardless of who he his playing with. I've seen him with Benevento/Russo Duo, Mike and the Italians (Mike Gordon, Marco Benevento, Joe Russo, and Trey Anastasio) Furthur and Phil and Friends.

Patience, patience. They have done this before; it just takes awhile.

Thx for the heads up.
I was at the Saturday show. Russo is a monster. Interplay & vox quality of WH & Jackie Green made the show. SCO didn't really take me anywhere. Second set ending could have had more energy for my taste. (Stella, Attics, Box of Rain encore). Warren peeled off an excellent Layla.

I saw the Benevento/Russo Duo a couple of years ago when they opened for Grace Potter. While Russo is a good drummer, they were the most God-Awful thing I have ever heard. They cleared the room as people left the show. There were probably 50 (literally) people there when we left. I had never been to a show when people were booing the band until that night.

We left at something like 12:30 AM and Grace still hadn't taken the stage. Start of her prima donna persona I guess.

The "Magic Bus" from 2-16 is a real treat, as is Warren's singing on "Wharf Rat."

I'm loving Phil on these recordings...SO much more spirited and bright playing from him as compared to Furthur.
