None in Iowa either, even though it's proven to help people with glaucoma, arthritis and other pain.

I'm guessing that if there is anyone who frequents this forum that does smoke medical marijuana, that for a variety of good reasons, that they wouldn't post that fact on a public forum.

WRONG. Just picked an 1/8 @ the dispensary one mile down the road yesterday. Primo quality, most of their stuff is priced @ $49/eighth. Not cheap, but it's the best imaginable. You can get either indica or sativa or a mixture; what I bought yesterday is 80% indica, 20% sativa. They say that indica is stronger, more of a full body high, whereas sativa is more of a brain high. Since I'm a huge 57 year old with some aches and pains, the indica does it better for me, although I have no complaints about anything I've ever got there, indica or sativa.

Any more questions feel free to ask. I'm a regular user and not ashamed of it. As I admitted on this site recently, my problem was alcohol, and I vanquished that one. The thing I will NOT do regarding marijuana, though: Go to work high. I've got WAY too much responsibility. As long as I never do that, I see no reason not to be honest here about my use. And I work for the very liberal and progressive City of San Francisco at their new rehabilitation facility, Laguna Honda Hospital. Believe it or not, they have an outdoor quad where patients with a medical marijuana prescription are allowed to light up.

I am aware that some of my friends have obtained their "Cards" and visit the dispensaries on a fairly consistent basis.....

But the Feds have been in full swing here in Ca. shutting down most of the ones that have high sales totals....(The guess is that they charge too much and therefore are making /non-profit/ way too much $). It was pretty odd, for years here at the beach there were approx. 15 medical marijuana dispensaries operating within 2 miles of the beach (basic store front shops on the main drag)..Now? ....I believe there are 2...

Speak with a doctor, state your pain, (why you think MM will help with your discomfort) get your paperwork and off you go. I understand that your card (paperwork) gets you into the facility where inside the medicine is available (openly displayed in jars) to buy in most any quantity the distributor can supply...."Can I smell this one please"?......"How about that one"?....my guess is that you then choose, based on color or odor, pay, placing your medicine in your pocket...and away you go...

Understand that this is what I have heard from friends who are in pain and find relief with the States' MM program.

I don't have a card and have never been prescribed medical hemp, but I have gotten a hold of some stuff before that caused paralysis. Holy cheese!

I have glaucoma, or rather a family history of it (father, grandfather).

I can smoke MM, but whether I would qualify....?

Wonder why I haven't exhibited any symptoms of glaucoma yet? I'm almost 55 and it usually shows up in the late 30s or early 40s....

It is my understanding that the basic, "qualification"....centers around the ability to breathe.

Add, a lot of the patients in need are placing the blame for the mass closing of these establishments on President Obama...The order for the Feds to have kicked it up "5 notches" with all of the raids has to have come from somewhere.

In the Denver area over the last couple of years the proliferation of dispensaries had the effect of dropping overall prices. The main dispensary I go to has different price levels, ie discounts for members (make them your caregiver), veterens, seniors and volume. So a member price on the most expensive oz is about 240$ while non-members would pay around 300$/oz.
They also have all kinds of hash, edibles and concentrates. Colrado is regulated but once you have a card the dispensaries are quite interesting. The quality is that of good growers everywhere with some much better then others but the general direction is up for types/strengths and specific medical uses as people learn. Take a look at their website:http://www.cdscenters.com/strain-menu/uptown-menu/ --the prices listed are the base non-member price starting with per/gram.

What an INCREDIBLE waste of taxpayer dollars.

Especially when the state of California could tax the weed and probably balance its budget in 5 years.

Am I able to? Yes. You can put me down as willing AND able.

Alas, I live in GA, where our idea of progress is to have, as of a few months ago, finally allowed beer sales on Sunday.

PS, hey Bob in PA!

Maryland has a medical defense exclusion from state marijuana laws.

If you get busted you can raise a medical necessity defense in state or county court.
Not in federal court, So stay out of federal jurisdictions if you are holding.

The most the judge can do in fine you $100 under the Compassion act.

But there is no legal supply, so you have to go to the street like everyone else that smokes.
Or grow your own. Cops will let you alone if you have a reasonable amount of plants.
Street prices for medicinal quality is about $75-90 / eighth

The State Senate Judiciary Committee has been exploring options for a registration system
with cards and legal supplies. My representative is on the committee, I need to bug him.

If Obama would just do the right thing (as he promised as a candidate) and reschedule marijuana according to the science, we could all get it in the drug store.

There is a sub-lingual spray called savitex, that is a plant extract rather than synthetic like
marinol which is THC only and missing the whole plant cannabinoids.

but Obama is a sell out to Special interests.

Marijuana is very effective at controlling the pain and spasms of MS.

Montel Williams has MS and is a big advocate for MM for MS.

I believe you can get a prescription for Savitex in Canada for MS.
I think that is how Montel gets his.

There you have the most ridiculous aspect of the War on Americans with Drugs. Tax dollars are wasted try to achieve a goal that is impossible to reach and if they would just legalize it and tax it, states and localities could balance budgets and all the money currently spent on the War on Americans with Drugs could be put into positive projects like urban renewal, fixing schools, hiring firefighters, upgrading telecommunications infrastructure etc. The billions the gov't wastes is inexcusable. I don't even use drugs and I realize this is the way to go. The stupidity of the gov't policies is profound.

Ah, but then it would put thousands of those who PROFIT from the WOD out of work - Cops, lawyers, judges, prosecutors, parole officers, prison guards, for-profit prisons, etc. etc. etc. many of whom interestingly are government workers......hhmm, guess the GOP really ISN'T serious about cutting government waste.....

Cheaper than the going price from non medical sources in NY where the going price for 1/8 of primo stuff is around $65.

I used to live in PA. I moved to Cali in 2005 and got my card not too long after. The 'donations' are pretty reasonable, however the quality is unsurpassed.

Yeah, they never have been. They probably get kickbacks from prescription drug companies to keep the "natural" drugs illegal.

I would say that you're right, given that's an open secret that the Federal Gov't has been growing Grade AAA weed in Mississippi for decades for "research purposes"....
