It seems a pretty safe bet we wont have any new original music from the band this march. What song would like to hear them cover?

no covers ,covers are the least thing I like at a ABB show stick to their own music they have a great library to choose from if they want to do something different change their own music ..

Born On The Bayou

AND/OR

Rainy Night In Georgia

Both are tailor-made for Gregg's voice.....I've been asking for both for years.

So you don't like One Way Out, Statesboro Blues, You Don't Love Me, Trouble No More, DWYNM, etc.....without covers they lose at least half their repertoire, Mike....

They should cover any Allman Brothers song from Seven Turns, Win Lose or Draw, Enlightened Rogues, Shades Of Two Worlds, Back Where It All Begins, or even one or two from Reach For The Sky or Brothers Of The Road. The Allman Brothers Band has made some great music that would be perfect for the Allman Brothers Band to cover. That would be awesome and 1000 times better than more Van Morrison songs.

I agree that we don't need any more VM songs. Not really suited for the ABB, IMHO.

I'd like to hear them do Green Onions. They did do a jam sort of like it to open in Piedmont Park in '07. Whatever it was, it was very cool.

"Close To You" by The Carpenters. Gregg and Warren on harmony vocals.

Gregg couldn't pull that one off.

Cosmic closure.

Zappa had his band learn Whipping Post so they could play it when someone in the audience called for it.

I'm betting they knew Freebird as well.

The current ABB could blow the lid off this instrumental.

I have a audio recording of the ABB on Bob Coburn's Rockline in 1996.

One caller asks if the ABB would be interested in covering a Zappa song,
since Zappa does Whipping Post.

Gregg's answer was, "Who Are The Brain Police..That would be a good one.."
(laughter).

I'm disappointed Brock, I thought you would suggest Little Feat's Oh Atlanta.

this type of thread pops up now and then and that's cool.

Born on the Bayou is a great tune, that'd be cool.

I've been saying it for years too that I'd like to hear Gregg sing James Taylor's "Fire and Rain".

There was a band back in the early 90's that had albums called Seven Turns , Shades Of Two Worlds , and Where It All Begins . They should cover a bunch of stuff by them .

Atlanta radio killed that song for me. Plus, I know when I'm de-feat-ed re ATL.

They do quite a few covers already -- as far as new material I'd like to see a show w/homegrown #s like Nevertheless & Can't Take It With You included here, & Nobody Knows, JJ's Alley, The Heat Is On there, other shows maybe w/Blind Love, Firing Line, Desert Blues etc --
I guess just more of their own stuff...
I love the ABB

I don't think High Cost of Low Living or Desdemona were explored enough. Way it goes.
