So, I am an avid homebrewer. Started about 5 years ago and have worked up to a decent setup. Wife and I just finished our basement which we turned into my man cave / entertainment room / brewery. Having been only moderately handy (and that is a stretch to say the very least) thoughout my life, I am quite proud of this bar and very happy with the idea I came up with to seal my concert ticket stubs in the counter top of the bar. About 150 tickets, each a different show, and I had to leave out many a ticket (Now I know why I have no savings or a penny in a bank, but many many good memories and its a great conversation piece as friends come over and we look back on the great nights we had). A good third of the tickets are Allman Bros tickets (30+ from Beacon alone), many moe. tickets, Widespread Panic, Furthur and lots of others... Just wanted to show off some pics. First 3 homebrews on tap are my "Peakin' Pils", "Rocktoberfest" (Red Rocks Furthur label), and "Perpetual Pale Ale". Brewing tomorrow we got "The Eleven IPA". Anyway...here are some pics....

I'm up in Butler, NJ. Anyone who is a fan of the Brothers and likes good beers...come on by. Haha.

As for the stereo system. Just got that set up last week. 55" TV mounted on the wall and 1000W Sony Surround Sound....1st DVDs played....Allmans Beacon and Panic in the Streets. My two year old is a big fan of "The Brothers" as he calls them and he is also a big fan of "John K" of Furthur...smart boy! Two years old and he'll belt out "Tennessee" for you.

Anyone ever needs any pointers on things not to do...I can tell you a few mistakes I've made getting my brewery set up, basement, bar etc and save you a few hundred (or thousand).

Thats a wonderful idea to set up the tickets like that. Good memories for you everytime you glance at them! I saw a couple of the Furthur shows this fall and they are just fantastic!

Thanks!
And as for Furthur...they are playing great right now. Best incarnation of the Dead IMO. I was hoping for years that John K would get the invite to join. I know people were skeptical at first but I think he's proven to be an absolutely great addition. Had the privlege to meet him, Joe Russo, and Jeff Chimenti out at Red Rocks last September/October. What a great bunch. Couldn't have been nicer people. Nevermind that Joe Russo is just a plain sick drummer.

That is sooooo coooool! I have a music room (no beer on tap though) with all my worldly musical possesions to hand. Its great to get in there, chill, listen to some discs and surf the musical net.

Hey, I was at that Panic show in Raleigh...ha, ha...

I too had that same idea !! Although my plan was interrupted by a divorce.

I had a pine tree cut and sawed into one piece, 15 or 20' long by 2/12 to 3' wide by 15" thick. The guy at the sawmill thought I was crazy, he thought that was going to be too big, too unwieldy.....so he also cut me the same length / width piece, but about 5 inches thick.

Those two pieces of pine are sitting in that unfinished room in my ex wife's garage....I hope to charm her into getting them back one day, tall order.

Anyhow, your room looks awesome, way to go !!

If you're brewing multiple beers pouring 3 taps, I'd say your homebrew setup, like your new man cave, is way better than "decent". Looks great bro, enjoy!!!

And, relax and have a homebrew!

Very cool.

Local brew pub in Summit Cty, CO had a Not Fade Away IPA (86 IBU) and Soulshine Brown.

GM @ Left Hand Brewing near Boulder is a peachhead and always has AUDs of shows, esp dTb going in the tasting room

I admire how well kept your ticket stubs are. I have all of mine but they usually end up looking pretty rough after the show.

I did the same thing, had it about 6 years now (since we remodeled our basement). We made the bar out of particle board and covered the front with leftover paneling from the remodel and put particle board for the top, have a ton of ticket stubs, guitar picks and some other stuff under it covered with a piece of plexiglass. And the front, side and a good part of the walls around the bar are covered with bottle caps. Here's a pic from last Christmas. I would send an updated one, but it's currently covered with my wife's scrapbooking stuff, she's going away scrapbooking this weekend so has it all packed up and sitting on top.

Here's a little from the top I was able to clear off. It's a little unorganized under there right now. The plexiglass isn't secured down at all-makes it easy to add mroe stubs and stuff (have a couple autographed CD booklets and stickers too) but it also moves around a bit when the wife is scrapping or the kids play near it.
