3/11/12 Massacre in Panjwai

A reporter went to the villages and spoke with people who were there when it happened. It was not just one soldier involved in the killings. e -in-the-past-week/?hpt=wo_c1

Noobinak is the child.

This cannot be just another unresolved crime. The troops who assisted in the massacre are not only still at large, but are still on the battlefield, and in the villages and able to do it again.

Mullah Abdul Saleem Zaeff has reportedly relocated to Qatar with his family within the last week. He had been under house arrest in Afghanistan, but due to his high ranking with the Taliban before 2001, he is part of the process to create an official office for the Taliban in Qatar. The delay in opening the office has been due to the particulars of the agreement being consummated. There are specific prisoners which had to be released from Guantanamo, and that seems to be happening. -248761.html .html

Some of the problems with negotiating with the Taliban are that the US says it has no way to reach them, so having an office in a neutral country will allow the US to make formal requests thru there and get answers back. Hamas has a political office thru which communications go thru, as do a number of other groups, so it was logical for the Taliban to have one as well, since they are a recognized entity.

France has barred four Islamic preachers from entering their country for a conference, including Shekh Yousuf al Qaradawi, Mahmoud al Masri, and Ikrima al-Sabri, former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Egyptian preacher Safwat al-Hijazi, Saudi self-help preacher Ayedh al-Qarni and Saudi imam and Quran reciter Abdallah Basfar. There are five million Muslims in France.

The Muslim Brotherhood's Deputy Supreme Guide Khairat al-Shater has left his post to run for president, Brotherhood leaders announced in a press conference Saturday evening. Shater, however, should be legally disqualified from running. The leading Brotherhood member is serving out a five-year prison sentence a military court issued in 2008. After President Hosni Mubarak left office, the leading military council released Shater for what it said were medical reasons.

Brotherhood leaders denied that Shater was ineligible.
"There are no legal obstacles preventing Shater from running for president," said a statement from Secretary general of the Muslim Brotherhood Mahmoud Hussein on the Freedom and Justice Party's Facebook page.

According to Egyptian law, a person is not eligible to run for public office if he or she is serving a prison sentence. Shater’s candidacy announcement raises the question of whether a pardon is in the near future for him.

The military council recently pardoned Ghad al-Thawra Party leader and Mubarak-era dissident Ayman Nour, freeing him to run for public office. Nour was sentenced to five years in prison for allegedly forging signatures on petitions to register his political party in 2005 when he ran against then-President Hosni Mubarak in elections.

US/KSA/IRAN ainst-iran.html

The US is trying to sell the idea to the Arabs that they too need a missile defense shield against Iran.

"Raising security ties from a bilateral to a multilateral level, Clinton is breaking new ground here in taking part in the first strategic cooperation forum between Washington and the six-country Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

She looked to taking “practical and specific steps to strengthen our mutual security, such as helping our militaries improve interoperability, cooperate on maritime security and missile defence, and coordinate responses to crises.”

"US officials have said it is a US “priority” to help the GCC build a “regional missile defence architecture” against what they see as a looming ballistic missile threat from Iran."

REMARKS: The US wants to be able to use it’s bases in Kuwait, the Shamsi Air Base in Pakistan, the base in Jalalabad, Afghanistan for military purposes, and now would like to use Arabian airspace. Uh- huh. If Iran is engaged in war, and defeated, will we remain strategic partners with the Saudis, or seek to conquer them and their oil?

“US Central Command chief General James Mattis has meanwhile warned that Iran was sending support, including “weapons, not just money” to Huthi rebels in northern Yemen, and trying to “influence the non-Huthi tribes” as well. Yemen neighbours the six Gulf states.”

REMARK: There have been reports of US troops being at the Sheraton in Saana helping the insurgency in Yemen. Given it's proximity to Saudi Arabia, one would think the Saudis would be concerned about this. Rebel forces cross the borders into Yemen from places like Somalia. If we become officially involved in the war in Yemen, it will end up like Libya.

Kofi Annan’s Six Point Plan for Syria
Here is a text of the proposal which calls on the Syrian authorities to:

(1) commit to work with the Envoy in an inclusive Syrian-led political process to address the legitimate aspirations and concerns of the Syrian people, and, to this end, commit to appoint an empowered interlocutor when invited to do so by the Envoy.

(2) commit to stop the fighting and achieve urgently an effective United Nations-supervised cessation of armed violence in all its forms by all parties to protect civilians and stabilize the country.

To this end, the Syrian government should immediately cease troop movements towards, and end the use of heavy weapons in, population centers, and begin pullback of military concentrations in and around population centers.

As these actions are being taken on the ground, the Syrian government should work with the Envoy to bring about a sustained cessation of armed violence in all its forms by all parties with an effective United Nations supervision mechanism.

Similar commitments would be sought by the Envoy from the opposition and all relevant elements to stop the fighting and work with him to bring about a sustained cessation of armed violence in all its forms by all parties with an effective United Nations supervision mechanism;

(3) ensure timely provision of humanitarian assistance to all areas affected by the fighting, and to this end, as immediate steps, to accept and implement a daily two-hour humanitarian pause and to coordinate exact time and modalities of the daily pause through an efficient mechanism, including at local level;

(4) intensify the pace and scale of release of arbitrarily detained persons, including especially vulnerable categories of persons, and persons involved in peaceful political activities, provide without delay through appropriate channels a list of all places in which such persons are being detained, immediately begin organizing access to such locations and through appropriate channels respond promptly to all written requests for information, access or release regarding such persons;

(5) ensure freedom of movement throughout the country for journalists and a non-discriminatory visa policy for them;

(6) respect freedom of association and the right to demonstrate peacefully as legally guaranteed.

Syria has pledged to withdraw all military units from towns by April 10 to pave the way for a ceasefire, brokered by U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan, with armed rebels two days later. 04
Iran is satisfied with the peace plan.

Nato secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen reiterates that the US is not going to Syria militarily and he also announces “I officially announce that NATO has no intention to hit Iran”. Glad he cleared that up for us.

GITMO E8330XS20120405

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will face a military trial at Gitmo. Convictions on the most serious charges, which include terrorism, hijacking, conspiracy and murder in violation of the law of war, could carry the death penalty. The decision to refer the case to a tribunal means the five will have to be arraigned before a military judge at Guantanamo within 30 days of their formal notification that the case will go to trial. Notification is expected to happen on Thursday, a Pentagon spokesman said.

The case has been referred to a joint trial, meaning the five will be tried together. In addition to Mohammed, the accused are Walid bin Attash, Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed al Hawsawi.

James Connell, the civilian attorney for Aziz Ali, said in a statement that his client, a nephew of Mohammed, did not kill or plan to kill anyone and should not face the death penalty.

Ali's attorneys have said in the past that he was a computer worker in Dubai who sent money to the hijackers and was not a direct participant in planning the attacks.

"Mr. Ali would not be eligible for the death penalty if this case were tried in federal court," Connell said. "This attempt to expand the reach of the death penalty to people who neither killed nor planned to kill is another example of the second-class justice of the military commissions."

REMARKS: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed being waterboarded more than 184 times until a confession was obtained from him, whether you believe that confession is valid or not, this case is setting a precedent whereby people accused of crimes can be executed. The case of Mr. Ali who sent money to people who allegedly used the money to plan and carry out attacks should be cause for concern.

It is no different than someone who mistakenly makes a contribution to a charity who uses it for purposes other than what they say they will use it for, that donor would then be subject to execution in this military court. Confessions by torture, Secret courts, secret evidence, and executing people. That is the precedent that this court will establish. Will there be retribution for their executions? Yes, and the nwo neocons want that.

Our Constitution was ripped to shreds in 2001 and the plan to do that was made long before that. You don't think martial law will not come to this country, the TSA at the airports is a sneak preview for you of the rights you no longer have. When the financial system comes down, people will rise up and riot, and they will be put in those 800+ Fema camps built by Halliburton.

The End Game is rule by the anti-Christ. All the rest of the stuff has to happen to set the world up for that to be possible. The prophecies came out thousands of years ago and are all being played out. When you see the seven year war with Israel versus 10 other nations, and only one European man able to get a peace treaty signed, you will know it is true.

Short Update:

Afghan Army Commandos are ready to take responsibility for the contentious night raids independently of Nato-led forces, the army special forces chief General Sayed Abdul Karim said at the seventh graduation ceremony of Afghan commandos in Kabul Thursday.

The commandos were fit to launch operations against insurgents in Afghanistan, Karim told the people attending the graduation of the 144 new commandos, saying the insurgents did not have the ability to resist and fight against the Afghan special forces.

Karim said the seventh graduation has brought the total number of Afghan soldiers with special forces training to more than 1000.

US officials said Tuesday that an agreement between the US and Afghanistan over the night raids was close, even "days away". The deal is expected to put Afghans in the lead for night raids and call for Afghan judges to issue warrants for the operations, officials said.

COMMENTS: One of the demands of Hamid Karzai to the US was that the ISAF led Night Raids have to stop. If was one of these unauthorized raids that killed Muhammad Wazir's family in Panwai during the Massacre of March 11th. The solution of the US is now to have the Afghan National Army Troops conduct the Night Raids. That way the US can say we stopped the Night Raids, while the Night Raids will still continue. Kind of like the 'we do not torture' concept, they just redefine what torture is, outsource the act to others and the carnage continues. .html

Sometimes the hand of God comes down on those who wage war, sometimes it's just happenstance (mechanical failure), sometimes it's anti-aircraft technology used by Taliban oppositional forces. Only one thing is certain, after we withdraw those 20,000 troops by the end of this year and leave more than 70,000 there, the war will continue. Islamic prophecy says Afghanistan is a land that will not be conquered by outside forces (non native Afghans). It will get a lot more interesting when the anti-Christ rises, Afghanistan plays a pivotal role in his ultimate defeat, but it has to play out to fulfill the prophecies.

The most serious charge against Saif al-Islam Gaddafi that Libya managed to back with evidence is over his failure to obtain a license for his camels, the head of Human Rights Watch says. Kenneth Roth cited on his Twitter account complaints of lawyers of the International Criminal Court, who said the case of Saif is a “legal black hole”.

According to the lawyers, Libya said it would not charge "serious crimes, such as murder & rape, due to lack of evidence" and has only managed to charge him with "the absence of a licence for camels, and irregularities concerning fish farms" so far.

The ICC forcefully demanded that Saif al-Islam were extradited to The Hague earlier on Thursday. But the Libyan government refused to do so, insisting that it will try him on its soil. Following the refusal, an unnamed lawyer from the ICC told AFP that the detainee had been attacked in prison and is suffering from a lack of dental treatment. Saif al-Islam Gaddafi is one of three Libyan leaders indicted by the ICC with war crimes, along with his father Muammar Gaddafi and the head of intelligence for Gaddafi’s government.

He was captured by the militia of the city of Zintan in November 2011 and has been kept there ever since. The internationally-recognized government in Tripoli has limited control over the leaders of Zintan tribes, which makes their ability to enforce an extradition order for Saif al-Islam questionable.

North Korea has warned that any attempts to jeopardize its plans to launch a rocket-powered satellite scheduled for later this month would constitute “an act of war.”
Whoever "intercepts the satellite or collects its debris will meet immediate, resolute and merciless punishment" from the North, the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea in Pyongyang announced in a statement on Thursday.

The statement also warned South Korea against any provocation, saying the DPRK "will mete out the unimaginable and the most miserable punishment to its rival if it dares fire into the sky above the (North), Pyongyang, in particular."

The warning comes after Japanese Defense Minister Naoki Tanaka issued in March a directive to intercept the rocket if it threatened Japan's “territorial integrity.”

UPDATE SYRIA. Governmental troops are attacking people in Damascus, while the April 12 cease fire date looms.

Syrian troops launched a fierce assault on a Damascus suburb Thursday, days ahead of a deadline for a U.N.-brokered cease-fire, with activists describing it as one of the most violent attacks around the capital since the year-old uprising began.

Activists in the suburb of Douma said snipers on 20 buildings were firing at "anything that moved" and residents had endured eight hours of shelling. They said soldiers marched into a main square behind detainees used as human shields.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said he believes Assad "is deceiving us" when he promises to abide by the peace plan, which was brokered by former U.N. chief Kofi Annan. –

COMMENT: There is prophecy that Damascus would be destroyed in 'one night', Assad's troops entering and beginning shelling there should be cause for concern.

First, the Night Raids in Afghanistan.

The US has reached a deal with the current Afghan government to cede over control of the Night Raids to them.

The agreement gives Afghan authorities veto power over planned operations and more say in the treatment of detainees.

General Allen says as of today, special operations become Afghan-owned and will be conducted by the special contingent of the ministry of defense, ministry of interior and national security directorate in accord with Afghan judicial bodies.

Under the deal, Afghan and supporting U.S. forces are required to apply to an Afghan judge for a warrant before operations are approved. Also, Afghan authorities will have control over prisoners taken in night raids and will decide whether to allow U.S. interrogators access to detainees. Attorney for Robert Bales, the accussed shooter in the March 11 massacres in Panjwai, Afghanistan wants the military appointed attorney replaced by someone else with death penalty experience. John Henry Brown will still represent Bales, but the military also, by law, has to provide an attorney who can work as part of the defense team. Brown’s objections were “

"Major Hurley is not a team player and has no experience in murder cases, we do," Browne wrote in a separate email to Reuters. "We have gotten 17 not guilty verdicts in murder cases and have gotten life verdicts in all our death penalty cases."

COMMENT: Attorney Brown represented serial killer, Ted Bundy, of course he has more death penalty experience than a military appointed attorney, but if he will get to hand pick the military attorney he wants on his team remains to be determined. I thought the military supplies attorneys much like the Public Defender's office.

There has been a lot of public outcry, including protests in the streets of Pakistan, as well as dissention even amont top Pakistani lawmakers over the US putting a $10 million bounty on the head of Hafiz Mohammed Saeed. (Hafiz is not a proper name, it means someone who can recite the Quran from memory). The US believes he was involved in the Mumbai terror attacks of 2008. Pakistan has asked to see the evidence, the US did not provide copies of evidence to them. 87.html

Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani does not endorse or embrace the US’s placing a $10 million bounty on the head of Jamaatud Dawa (JD) chief Hafiz Saeed.

"This is purely an internal issue of Pakistan and the US has been asked to provide evidence [against Saeed], if they have any, to the Pakistani government… This was also conveyed to the US deputy secretary of state that when new rules of engagements are being defined, they should send a positive signal to Pakistan," Gilani told the joint sitting of parliament.

"We will not take any step that is against the national interest," Gilani said. He also assured the House that parliament would be taken into confidence over the president's visit to India which, he said, was "totally a personal visit". President Asif Ali Zardari gets ready to embark on a day-long visit to India on April 8, during which he is scheduled to hold discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as well as to pay obeisance at the dargah of sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.

The JUI-F's Fazlur Rehman also called the head money on Hafiz Saeed a joke and an "unwise" decision of the US. He said that if the US had any complaints against Hafiz Saeed, it should have approached the Pakistan government.

ISLAMABAD: The United States has offered a $10 million bounty for Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) founder Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, blamed for the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai. The Rewards for Justice notice said Saeed was "suspected of masterminding numerous terrorist attacks, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which resulted in the deaths of 166 people, including six American citizens".

"I am here, I am visible," Mr Saeed said, suggesting he should be entitled to the reward money because his whereabouts were not a mystery. "I will be in Lahore tomorrow. America can contact me whenever it wants to." y/53996080/1

He arrived at his masjid, Jamia Markaz al-Qadsia in Lahore and gave a sermon about jihad. "Come to us. We will teach you the meaning of jihad... The time to fight has come," he said, “This is the same jihad which caused the USSR to break and now America is failing because of it. Analysts and journalists don’t realize why America is failing, the only reason is jihad”. “There are many parties in Pakistan, but America has only sent a message to Jaamatud Dawa because we do jihad”. He was accompanied by security personnel who had weapons with silencers, he was aware of the ever present danger, but was not going to stop going about his regular life. After the sermon they went to the Lahore Press Club with leaders from Pakistani Muslim League, Dife e Pakistan Council members, hundreds of protesters (estimated 500) took to the streets chanting Death To America, torching a US flag.

"Hafiz Saeed is not a fugitive, he is not on the run, he is not living in caves, he has not committed any crime and the court has declared him an innocent person," Hafiz Muhammad Masood, the group's central information secretary told AFP by telephone from Lahore. Pakistan put Saeed under house arrest a month after the Mumbai attacks. But he was freed in 2009. Retd-Nazir-215561.html ani-tells-India-219547.html

So what about Hafiz Mohammad Saeed? He is reportedly one of the first to denounce militancy and suicide bombings according to a spokesman for Jammatud Dawa, his new group.

“India said that the close links between the organisations, as well as the 2,500 offices and 11 seminaries that Jamaatud Dawa maintains in Pakistan, "are of immediate concern with regard to their efforts to mobilise and orchestrate terrorist activities”.

COMMENT: Hafiz Saeed is the head of Jammatud Dawa that has 2,500 offices and 11 seminaries in Pakistan, and the US has not provided proof of his involvement in the Mumbai bombings. Understandably the Pakistanis do not want to hand him over for $10 million bounty. He has the support of local clerics including those in the tribal areas like Fazlur Rehman and Sami Haq. Haq runs Darul Uloom the prestigious madrassa that trained Mullah Mohammad Omar and many Taliban on both sides of the border). He is also highly regarded by the Saudi Royal family.

Politically the US will not get cooperation with it’s desire to arrest, imprison and/or assassinate Hafiz Saeed and if a drone is used to try to take him out, there will be riots and large scale retribution in Pakistan, endangering the lives of US troops in Afghanistan and Pakistan (in the air, on the ground, in covert activities, the whole kit and caboodle!).

The Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS), working on a consensus report on new terms of engagement with the United States, suffered another setback when the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) decided to detach itself from the committee.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of the JUI-F, told media representatives on Friday that the government had already decided to reopen supply routes for Nato forces through Pakistan. “It was not possible for me to attend the committee meetings,” he added.

The PML-N has also opposed the re-opening of NATO supply routes. The Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, warned that he would quit his office if the supply routes were reopened.

The Pakistan Mulsim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart said that he had made his stance clear to his party and the leadership of other parties in the opposition about not resuming the supply to the Nato forces. Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz) President Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that reopening of NATO supplies routes should be conditioned with an end to drone attacks.

REMARKS: The loyalties between Pakistani clerics, religious leaders and government officials is a known fact. The US has to develop more of an understanding of this. With the bounty the US has placed on Sheikh Saeed's head, it should have some sort of evidence, it should present this evidence to Zardai and Gilani. They are not going to cooperate and hand over anyone from their country without evidence being presented.

Assad's forces tried to assassinate Lebanese Forces Leader, Samir Geagea on April 4th and they assassinated a Photojournalist, Ali Shabaan and attempted to kill his entire newsteam.

Kofi Annan has said it is too early to say the Peace Plan has failed. I admire his determination. The problem with Syria is that Assad does not want to negotiate in good faith. He wants to put down the opposition and say there is no problem in Syria, treat it as though it was just a few protesters. UN Estimates are that 9,000 people have been killed. He just wants to handle it as an internal matter and not answer to the world community. In addition to bombing churches on Easter Sunday, he also assassinated a Lebanese Photo Journalist (Camerman), Ali Shaaban from Al Jadeed TV (which is also called New TV) who is respected enough that even politicians are coming out demanding accountability.

His death sparked wide condemnation by LebanesePresident Michel Suleiman, Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Miqati and a number of local and international figures . Hezbollah has called him the “martyr of all media outlets and the country”. Al Jadeed (New TV reporter) Hussein Khreis and cameraman Abdul Tabaja were also wounded when Syrian army fired at them as they were filming a report on the Lebanese Syrian borders in Wadi Khaled area near the town of Buqaiat, according to a report by LBC ‘s Yazbeck Wehbe via “Twitter”. Shaaban was rushed to a nearby hospital but died on the way. The 2 wounded were also taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati had this to say:
“We condemn the act of opening fire from the Syrian side on the Lebanese media team, mainly as this team was operating within Lebanese territory.” Lebanese Forces Leader Samir Geager, who survived an assassination attempt last Wednesday, also condemned the assassination of Ali Shaaban and urged the govt. to investigate the case. tv-cameraman/ syrian-army-fire/ wn

The funeral procession for slain al-Jadeed television cameraman Ali Shaaban was held on Tuesday at his hometown of Maifadoun in southern Lebanon. The funeral was attended by a representative of the president, prime minister, and speaker MP Abdul Latif al-Zein, Hizbullah chief representative MP Hassan Fadlallah, AMAL representative Jamil Hayek, representative for the information minister Hassan Falaha, as well as representatives for all political parties, reported the National News Agency.

He was later laid to rest in the local cemetery.

Wreaths from the president, premier, speaker, information minister, MP Hani Qobeissi, Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and various political and media officials were placed on his grave. ian-ambassador-over-shaaban-s-death

The Mustaqbal bloc condemned on Tuesday that murder of al-Jadeed cameraman Ali Shaaban on Monday, calling on the government to summon the Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali over the incident. sh-shaabans-killers.ashx#axzz1rkdAHb00

MAIFADOUN/BEIRUT: Hezbollah demanded Tuesday punishment for the killers of Al-Jadeed TV cameraman Ali Shaaban slain by Syrian gunfire near the border with Syria, while the Future bloc called on the government to summon the Syrian ambassador to protest the incident.

“We call on the Lebanese government to launch a probe into the incident and punish the culprits who targeted the media and its men,” Hezbollah MP Hasan Fadlallah told The Daily Star after offering condolences to Shaaban’s family in Maifadoun, 10 kilometers from the southern city of Nabatiyeh, after the burial.

Speaking to reporters, Fadlallah, representing Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah at the funeral, called Shaaban “a martyr of all media [outlets] and all the country.”

“We condemn the attack on the Lebanese media which we want to be always a free media that moves freely and is protected while performing its professional duties,” Fadlallah said.

Ali Shaaban, 30, was killed Monday when the car he was traveling in along with two Al-Jadeed colleagues, reporter Hussein Khreiss and cameraman Abed al-Azim Khayyat, was hit with a volley of machine gunfire in the northern area of Wadi Khaled, near the border with Syria. Shaaban was the only fatality, while Khayyat was lightly wounded in his left arm. anese-cameraman

Ali Shabaan not only had permission to film, he had theBrother of the Mayor with them. Khayat described to Al-Akhbar how they arrived to an area known as the “United Company” near a petrol pipeline.

They had asked for permission to film from the Syrian border guards known as al-Hajjana.According to the nearby town of al-Haysha’s mayor, when they heard the news, dozens of young men headed to the area accompanied by members of a Lebanese Army intelligence unit. They also came under gunfire when trying to retrieve the body. Security sources who revealed that the area is a known route for arms smuggling into Syria.

Al-Haysha’s mayor could not see any reason for the gunfire from the Syrian side against Al-Jadeed’s crew. rches-bombed/

For the first time in centuries no services were held to mark the festival of Easter in Christian churches of war-torn Homs as the Syria government inflicted a heavy bombardment in defiance of UN-brokered ceasefire talks.

The three principal churches for Christian denominations in the city, which until a few months ago was home to Syria’s third largest Christian community, were virtually abandoned. Other small churches have been destroyed as private homes became the places of worship on Sunday with priests and locals gathering in secret.

All are located in districts have been left devastated by weeks of heavy shelling.
“There is no celebration. For one week, there have been no sounds coming from the churches or the mosques,” said Saleem, a resident speaking from his home in Homs Old City, where most of the churches are located.“Government forces have shelled the area this morning. It is too dangerous to go outside.

The windows of my grandfather’s home were shattered by shelling,” said DimaMoussa. “The regime doesn’t care anymore, they are targeting all neighbourhoods, and mosques and churches.”

“It is too dangerous to go to Church, as the regime is even shelling these,” said Saif al Arab, an activist in Homs who claimed to be in contact with Christians in his neighbourhood.

“There is not enough food for them to celebrate in the traditional way. This is not a celebration, they gathered to pray for the people who have been killed in the bombardments”.

COMMENTS: He was supposed to begin implementing the cease fire April 10th, but he could not even stop to allow people to worship at their places of worship n April 9th. Kofi Annan has extended the date to April 12, but Assad has been assassinating people since last week, so how serious is he in peace? What will the international community do if he continues murdering people?

BRITAIN/AQ ist-s-extradition

Al-Qaida on Tuesday threatened to attack Britain if it decides to extradite to Jordan the radical Islamist Abu Qatada, once believed to be an aide to Osama bin Laden.

In a statement signed by al-Qaida's general command and published on jihadist forums, the terror network said Abu Qatada's extradition would "open the gates of evil" onto "Britain and its citizens everywhere."

"We warn the British government against extraditing Sheikh Abu Qatada to Jordan," where he faces terror charges, said the statement which called on London to "act with reason and wisdom... or it will regret it." 83906I20120410

It has come to our attention that the British government intends to hand over the honourable Sheikh Abu Qatada al-Filistini to the agent Jordanian government, claiming it had secured assurances and covenants not to torture him," the group said in a statement posted on an Islamist site late on Monday.

"Based on all that, we in Qaedat al-Jihad (al Qaeda) place the responsibility on the British government of handing over Sheikh Abu Qatada to the Jordanian government, and let it be known that by doing so, under any pretext, it will open the door of evil for it and its citizens, which it can do without." %20l-cleric-abu-hamza-to-u-s RE83A00R20120411

SYRIA/LEBANON meraman-to-quit-his-job-after-colleagues-death.ashx#axzz1rhl6KI4p

Abdel-Azim Khayyat told The Daily Star he would quit his position and assume another one within Al-Jadeed, citing Monday’s tragic incident and his realization that the level of threat in his job was too high for him and his family. Khayyat has covered several conflict situations, including the summer 2006 war with Israel.

“My family can no longer take the unbearable pressure, particularly as this is the second time I have been hurt on an assignment,” Khayyat told Al-Jadeed TV earlier Tuesday, recalling the day he was wounded by Israeli shelling during the July-August 2006 war with Israel.

Khayyat, along with Al-Jadeed reporter Bassel al-Aridi and assistant cameraman Ziad Sawan were the first reporters wounded in the 34-day war when their vehicle was hit by shots fired from an Israeli helicopter as they crossed a bridge in south Lebanon.

Omar Suleiman, former head of Egyptian intelligence and presidential candidate in next month's elections, said he has no connection with the military junta. His candidacy, accompanied by 72,000 voters' signatures collected in one day, was recorded a few hours before the registration deadline. Thirty thousand signatures were required to present him.For his part Khairat al Shater, the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood, said Suleiman's candidacy was an "insult for the revolution and the Egyptian people." suleiman

Front spokesperson Khaled Saeed said all political and revolutionary powers should participate in the protest, and the date will be chosen in coordination with these powers. Salafist Nour Party senior member Bassam al-Zarqa said his party will take other routes to face Suleiman. Muslim Brotherhood lawyer Abdel Moneim Abdel Maqsoud said he will appeal to the Presidential Elections Commission to disqualify Suleiman based on the verdict to dissolve the National Democratic Party. Freedom and Justice Party MP Gomaa al-Badry said his party is not convinced by Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi’s statements that the ruling military council has no presidential candidate. -presidential-race-postponed

The State Council’s Administrative Court postponed to 24 April the consideration of a case filed to its first circuit demanding that Omar Suleiman and Ahmed Shafiq be banned from the presidential race, said the official website of Egypt’s state television on Tuesday.
Attorney Saber Shalabi sued Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri, former Vice President Omar Suleiman and former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq saying that Suleiman and Shafiq should be banned from running for office as they lack good reputations. suleimans-nominationnews1

A draft amendment that would prevent Mubarak regime figures from running for president targets former vice president and former spy chief Omar Suleiman in particular, the author of the draft law said. According to the bill, which amends the Presidential Elections Law, those who served in leading government, presidential staff, security, parliamentary and ruling National Democratic Party posts during the last five years of Mubarak’s presidency would receive a 10-year ban from serving as president, vice president, prime minister or cabinet minister.

John Henry Browne, attorney for Robert Bales, the man accused of murdering 17 people last month in Panjwai Afghanistan during the Massacres of March 11, plans an amnesia defense for his client.

“He has some memories of before the incident, and he has some memories of after the incident,” the lawyer, John Henry Browne, said. “In between, very little.” It is very technical there are “Rules for Court Martial” and the “Uniform Code of Military Justice”. The defendant has to understand the plea and enter it voluntarily. He must understand what he is pleading on. One JAG said that he had someone charged with attempted murder and the soldier said he did not remember doing it, but there were eyewitnesses and his not remembering was not a valid defense.

As to the situation in Afghanistan, there were twin suicide blasts in Helmand and Heart in response to the Night Raid agreement Karzai’s government signed with the US. The Taliban do not think they should be negotiating with the US. With regards to that peace deal and the office in Qatar, Al Jazeera has a story which says that Mullah Zaeef, who has been a peace proponent was threatened by the US before he left for the Emirates.

"In front of Karzai, American officials had asked him about helping the two Arabs," Muzhda claimed Zaeef told him. "They [the American officials] told Zaeef that if an attack happened, he would be the prime suspect." Even though after he got out of Gitmo, he was under virtual house arrest, they still accuse him of being part of some future plot; even though The Afghan Taliban denounced the WTC attacks as un-Islamic, and took a stance of not allowing Afghan soil to be used to plan or carry out attacks on other countries.

"Iran’s “last chance” to resolve its nuclear confrontation with the United Nations and the West diplomatically."

hile the six nations in the talks — Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany — are prepared to allow Iran to have a nuclear power program, they say Iran must first restore its credibility and prove that it does not in fact have a military nuclear program. It can do so, they say, by allowing agency inspectors full access to all Iranian sites. Iran has refused to do so, and has barred the inspectors from talking to key nuclear scientists. or-new-round-of-talks-with-iran.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&hp

Concerning the Nations Involved--And Those Who are Not

With Turkey, Iran, Libya and Sudan, Gog leads an Islamic coalition of nations against Israel: Turkey from the north, Iran from the east, Libya from the west and Sudan from the south.

Note also the nations who are (surprisingly!) absent: Egypt and Syria. Why? The only plausible answer is that they both have somehow been relegated to an inferior position militarily.

This fits nicely into Daniel chapter 11 with both the King of the North (Syria) and the King of the South (Egypt) being destroyed by Antichrist.

Meshech is either part of Turkey or Russia (Moscow and Tobolsk)

Tubal (area around Black and Caspian Sea they were trading partners with Tyre – Lebanon).

Cappodocia is Turkey

Tyre is Lebanon

Put is Libya

Cush is Sudan

Persia is Iran

Meshech and Tubal, in Ezekiel 38:2,3, were the names of the 6th and 5th sons of Japheth, the son of Noah (Genesis 10:2). Ezekiel 27:13 also mentions Meshech and Tubal as trading partners with Tyre (modern Lebanon). It is likely that Meshech and Tubal refer to the ancient Moshi/Mushki and Tubalu/Tibareni who dwelled in the area around, primarily south of, the Black and Caspian Sea in Ezekiel’s day. Today, these nations would be in the modern country of Turkey, parts of Southern Russia and Northern Iran—all areas with a Muslim majority.

[Caspian Sea - area for that oil pipeline that foreign investors want to run from the Caspian Sea thru Afghanistan].

4.14.12 UPDATES

The trial of Abd al-Rahim Hussayn Muhammad al-Nashiri has begun at Gitmo. . The government was represented by nine individuals and was led by Gen. Mark Martin. Al-Nashiri is represented by four attorneys - two military, Lt. Cmdr. Stephen Reyes and Maj. Allison Danels; and two civilian, Rick Karmmen and Michel Paradis. Also at the defense table was Al-Nashiri's full-time translator. Judge Phol will not allow civilians to attend the hearing. He also denied the defense motion to have the 100,000 pages of evidence translated into the Defendant’s own language.

The Judge told his attorneys that the evidence was in English and they were attorneys and could determine what he needed to know about from the documents and use the three translators that they have. "there are four attorneys in this case who all speak English, who all can read the material and discuss it with their client ... and it is the lawyer's job to look at the evidence to see how it is relevant to the case."

A US military judge has set 5 May as the date for the arraignment of alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other accused apprentices. Mohammed will be tried along with Walid bin Attash of Saudi Arabia, Ramzi Binalshibh of Yemen, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali of Pakistan, and Mustafa al Hawsawi of Saudi Arabia.

NEW YORK, (SANA)_The UN Security Council unanimously passed a resolution to send unarmed military observers to Syria. The resolution authorizes the first 30 unarmed observers to establish contact and cooperation with the Syrian sides and delegates them to submit reports to ensure that all sides commit to ending armed violence until a UN mission is deployed.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish prime minister, repeated calls for UN action against Syria, and went on to refer to Article 5 of the Nato treaty, which defines an attack on one Nato member as an attack on all members.

Invoking the treaty would allow Nato members to take military action against Syria legally without a UN Security Council resolution. Article 5 has only been invoked on one previous occasion: in the action taken against Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks. "Options are plentiful," Erdogan said, referring to incidents on the Turkish-Syrian border that sent gunfire into refugee camps on three consecutive days earlier this week and killed four Syrians.

"Nato also has duties regarding Turkey's borders," he added.

Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz said Turkey does not intend to threaten Syria with Military Action.

Remark: Why should he, just make NATO do it.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the second day of his visit to Tehran on Thursday. “Iran and Turkey have stood by each other on most of the international scenes and have always independently and seriously confronted the imperialism of Westerners and arrogant powers, which never want countries like Iran and Turkey to progress and become powers on the global stage. Thus, we have to be vigilant in the face of their plots,”
Remark: Don’t you just love politics?

And what about IRAN and that nuclear problem:

The EU foreign policy chief, says the latest nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers have been constructive and that the two sides will meet again in Baghdad on May 23. Catherine Ashton says future talks will be guided by the "principle of a step-by-step approach and reciprocity." That indicates the international community is ready to reward Iran if it reduces fears that it may use its atomic program to make weapons. She also said after the talks in Istanbul on Saturday that Iran has a right to a peaceful nuclear program. At the same time, she says the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty must be the "key basis" for future talks.

The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council says Iran insists on the recognition of its rights as stipulated in the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in its talks with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (the P5+1 group). -eu.aspx?pageID=238&nID=18436&NewsCatID=351

Turkey will not be able to join in the European Union in the next five years, French Socialist presidential frontrunner François Hollande said on France 2 television channel.
Hollande said Turkey will not be an EU member in the next five years if he is elected in April 22 presidential elections.

King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and accompanying members of his delegation at the Rawdat Khuraim oasis near Riyadh yesterday. Upon his arrival at Rawdat Khuraim, the Turkish Prime Minister was received by Chief of General Intelligence Prince Meqren Bin Abdulaziz and President of Royal Protocol Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Tibaishi. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Chief of General Intelligence Prince Meqren Bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Education Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz.

Afghanistan's government on Saturday appointed Salahuddin Rabbani, the son of slain Peace Council chief Burhanuddin Rabbani, to replace his father and lead the country's High Peace Council charged with reaching out to Taliban insurgents. Salahuddin Rabbani is currently Afghanistan's ambassador to Turkey. fghanistan-president-Burhanuddin-Rabbani-killed-in-Kabul-blast.html

Yes Burhanuddin Rabbani was the former President of Afghanistan, whom the Taliban unseated during his reign. They unseated him when a naked, dead woman was left in Mullah Omar’s mosque, during the night. It was at that point in 1996 fifteen students took up thirty rifles and decided they would no longer tolerate conditions in their country. Mullah Omar went and wrapped himself in the cloak of the Prophet of Islam and they vowed either victory or martyrdom. God gave them victory and the Taliban rose to power.

After he was ousted by the Taliban, he became the nominal head of the Northern Alliance, mostly minority Tajiks and Uzbeks, who swept to power in Kabul after the Taliban's fall.

Mr Rabbani was an ethnic Tajik. He was appointed to head the High Peace Council, which was established to convene peace talks with the Taliban and other groups in the insurgency, last year he was killed in what Taliban have said was a personal retribution attack by one of it’s members.

Remarks: Now his son is chosen Salahuddin Rabbani, 41, holds a master's degree from Columbia University in New York and has been serving as Kabul's ambassador to Turkey has been appointed by Afghan President, Hamid Karzai to head the High Peace Council to reach out to the Taliban. The Taliban lived thru the regime headed by Burhanuddin from 1992 – 1996. Their disgust was not just from one incident, the dead female in Mullah Omar’s mosque was just the last straw. Why would they think The Taliban would want to negotiate with his son?

UPDATE 4/15/12

That's right, since I'm a day behind, there's two updates today because there is important stuff happening in many places.

The body overseeing Egypt’s presidential election disqualified 10 candidates from the race on Saturday, including the Muslim Brotherhood’s Khairat al-Shater, former spy chief Omar Suleiman and ultra orthodox Salafi sheikh Hazem Salah Abu Ismail. -will-be-able-gather-missing-signatures

Omar Suleiman will not be allowed to try to gather signatures again, after being disqualified for not having an adequate number of signatures from 15 different governorates, according to Farouk Sultan, head of the Supreme Presidential Election Commission in an interview he did with Al Jazeera.

Some 384 prisoners including militants escaped early Sunday from a jail in northwestern Pakistan after an attack by insurgents armed with guns, grenades and rockets, officials said. More than 150 heavily-armed militants stormed the central prison outside the restive northwestern town of Bannu bordering the lawless tribal regions where Taliban and Al-Qaeda linked militants are known to operate.

Ehsanullah Ehsan, spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant group claimed responsibility for the attack. “We attacked the Bannu prison and got our special members freed,” Ehsan said. “In a couple of days when all of them have reached their designated places we will issue details about them. At the moment I cannot give you exact numbers,” he said.

There is speculation in the local media that the March 14-led opposition is seeking to topple the cabinet next week by resorting to a vote of no confidence over the government’s performance during the 3 day parliament session. About 70 MPs ( out of 128 ) have reportedly signed up to discuss government’s performance during the three-day parliamentary session that is scheduled to start on Tuesday and end on Thursday according to al-Liwaa newspaper. -in-war-with-hezbollah/

According to a report by Jerusalem Post , Israel will attack Lebanese government targets during a future war with Hezbollah. The daily quoted senior defense officials as saying that “a war could erupt in the North following a future strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. “It was a mistake not to attack Lebanese government targets during the [Second Lebanon] War in 2006,” a the senior defense official explained. “We will not be able to hold back from doing so in a future war.”

The 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel devastated the whole country. Over 1200 Lebanese were killed mostly civilians , the Lebanese infrastructure was devastated , over 1 million became homeless , mostly Shiites from the south and over 120, 000 housing units were destroyed mostly of Shiite residents in south Lebanon and southern Beirut suburbs. The damages were estimated by UN at over $15 billion isses-israeli-warnings-says-ready-for-confrontation.ashx#axzz1s53DQnAN

Hezbollah says it is ready for confrontation if Israel wants to start it.

BEIRUT: The head of Hezbollah's foreign relations department Ali Daamoush said during the Friday sermon at the Sayyida Zainab complex in Hart Hreik that Hezbollah is ready for any confrontation with Israel, "the resistance is ready for any confrontation Israel may impose, despite the presence of domestic forces that ignore the Israeli threats and target the resistance and do not cease attacking it and its weapons."

Remarks: Kofi Annan is doing all he can to secure peace in the Middle East, if Israel starts it, all the countries will be involved, even China and Russia voted with the other UN delegates to send the 30 member Military Investigators to Syria. They have 200 people in place they can send if the situation worsens and military intervention becomes necessary. Meanwhile the leaders of the nations there are all meeting with each other to discuss their positions and strengthen their alliances. The developments in the region with respect to Lebanon and Iran also play major roles in the future of the region.

US Drones have killed a bunch of Somali citizens. 4.14.12. The drones were sent in response to Al Shabaab attacks.

Captain Mohamed Haruun, a military official from the Halane military base, confirmed the attack, saying two US assassination drones were sent from the base late at night. The first blast took place at a restaurant in the town of Garbaharey, the capital of Gedo region and situated 528 kilometers (328 miles) southwest of the Somali capital Mogadishu, on Sunday, killing three people, among them transitional government soldiers. “The restaurant was packed with people, mainly government officials and troops, at the time of the blast. I saw three dead bodies on the ground as wounded people were being taken out, Abdi Dhuurgal, a witness, told Press TV.

Shortly later, a remote-controlled explosive device was set off inside a market, killing three more people. Local officials said the blast apparently targeted Ethiopian and Somali soldiers, who were patrolling the area. They added that a prominent elder was among the dead, and the wounded victims have been rushed to the main hospital in the town.
Meanwhile, al-Shabab militants have claimed responsibility for the acts of terror, saying that they could cause extensive structural damage to strategic and important facilities in Garbaharey.

Somalia has not had a functioning government since 1991, when warlords overthrew former dictator Mohamed Siad Barre. The Western-backed transitional government in Mogadishu has been battling al-Shabab fighters for the past five years and is propped up by thousands of African Union soldiers from Uganda, Burundi, and Djibouti. lia-rising-toll-of-dead-and-wounded/ ern-somalia ia-and-Yemen-with-new-drone-bases.html

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullab bin Zayed al Nahan expressed concern over Iranian occupation of islands 40 miles off the coast of the Emirates. The Islamic Republic says its sovereignty over the three islands is not negotiable but has called for talks with the UAE to clear up “misunderstandings”.
“We hope the other sides will act with wisdom and patience towards occasional misunderstandings, otherwise matters may become too complicated for a solution,” Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said, quoted by the student news agency ISNA.
“We want to have the best possible relations with the UAE, as our trade and economic relations are significant. Misunderstandings occur at times that can be resolved through bilateral talks,” Salehi said.
Iran, then under the rule of the Western-backed shah, gained control of the islands of Abu Musa, Lesser Tunb and Greater Tunb in 1971, as Britain granted independence to its Gulf protectorates and withdrew its forces.

Abu Musa, the only inhabited island of the three, was placed under joint administration in a deal with Sharjah, now part of the UAE.

Abu Dhabi says the Iranians have since taken over the entire island, which controls access to the oil-rich Gulf, and have installed an airport and military base on Abu Musa. Sheikh Abdullah said failure to resolve the dispute would leave “serious ramifications on the stability and security of the international community especially as 40 percent of the world’s energy goes through the channels of these islands.” with-iran/

Mishaal Mohammed Rasheed al-Shodoukhi, who was named on a list of fugitive al-Qaeda militants by the Saudi authorities in 2009, demanded that the Saudi authorities should send convicted militants in Saudi prisons to Yemen, said an Interior Ministry spokesman in a statement carried by the official press agency.

Abdallah al-Khalidi, the kingdom's deputy consul, was kidnapped in the Yemeni port of Aden on March 28 outside his residence. to-release-600-Al-Qaeda-prisoners.htm

Abdullah Ali, the prisoners and negotiations officer for Ansar Al-Sharia, said in an exclusive phone interview with Yemen TV on Friday evening that the government has not yet contacted them in regard to releasing the captured soldiers.

He said that the group has received media and human rights visitors from the HOOD Organization, Al-Karama Organization, France 24 TV and a team from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). “They [Ansar Al-Shariah] treat us well and they let us contact our families by phone once per week,” said the captured solider.

“If the troops were Americans, the Yemeni government would be instructed by the US to release all Al-Qaeda prisoners,” Ali said. “If the government of Yemen cares for the lives of its troops, they must free our prisoners.”

“We blew up the oil pipeline in Shabwa in revenge for the US airstrikes against Zinjibar, Jaar, and Azzan,” said the official from Ansar Al-Shariah.

More details have emerged on the jail break at Bannu. It was planned for over a year, by Tehrek i Taliban forces.

The Bannu attackers arrived in a convoy of vehicles, blocking off all access points to the jail before firing rocket-propelled grenades at the black, metal gates of the prison and forcing their way in.

They moved through the prison quickly facing little resistance until they found Adnan Rasheed, who took part in one of the attempts to kill Musharraf, and then freed him and 383 others.

"We had set one hour as the target time for our mission. This included entering the jail, breaking out our people, getting back into our vehicles and reaching a safe spot," said the commander, who asked not to be named.

We had maps of the area and we had complete maps and plans of the jail as well," the commander, a senior member of the Taliban, told Reuters. The Taliban commander, based in North Waziristan said 150 fighters, including foreigners, launched the prison assault after months of training.

"We spent 20 million rupees ($220,000) on this mission," he said.
Police officials said 76 escapees were now back in custody.

One of them, Zahir Shah, 29, described the chaos following the attack and why he decided to reject freedom after escaping."They took us with them to the main gate. Outside there were many cars. I think 20 cars in all. They shoved me into one of the vehicles and drove off really fast," he said as he trembled outside the prison before turning himself in. "I could be out in a few years for good behaviour. I don't want to ruin my chances

4.17.12 Update

The US has been saying they believe the Haqqani Network was behind the 18 hour attacks in Kabul recently, actually it was the Taliban but the US is uniting most of the three groups (Afghan, Haqqani and Hekmatyar) in Afghanistan. (note: Hekmatyar and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan also known as the Taliban are rivals as Hekmatyar did have dealings with the CIA during the Soviet War).

In the last few days there have been other developments in the Peace Process. President Karzai met with Ghairat Baheer, son in law of Hezb-i-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and six other Hezb members me in a meeting with the Afghan the High Peace Council to discuss the peace plan. Gulbuddin himself will not meet with Karzai until Afghan officials seriously consider the 15 point peace proposal plan he submitted to them in March. For the past two years Hekmatyar has tried establishing this peace plan and has sent delegations to meet with Karzai over it.

Some of non negotiable tenets of the 2012 plan are:

Full Withdrawal of Nato troops. No peacekeeping forces will remain on Afghan soil.
Turn over security of Afghanistan to ANA and Afghan police forces.

Foreign troops have no rights to carry out covert operations, house searches, Night Raids , or arrest anyone on their own in Afghanistan.

Al Qaida and other foreign groups will not be required to leave Afghanistan until full NATO troop withdrawal is achieved.

No foreign country will have the right to establish jails in Afghanistan. They will not arrest or put on trial any Afghan National for trial outside the country.

Those accused of war crimes will be tried in Islamic Courts.

The US has wanted to negotiate and work alongside the ANA in conducting house searches and Night Raids, this is unacceptable to any group including the Afghan Taliban, the Haqqani Network, Hezb-i-Islami and the Pakistani Taliban who provide cross border support where needed. est-afghan-insurgencys-peace-offer.htm

AQ Has freed an Italian hostage.

ROME, Italy - An Italian hostage kidnapped by Qaeda in February last year in southern Algeria was released on Tuesday, the Italian foreign ministry said in a statement. “Maria Sandra Mariani is free. I have just informed her relatives. I join them in their great satisfaction and relief at this magnificent news,” Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi was quoted as saying. He also voiced gratitude for “all those who contributed to this result.” Her father burst out crying on hearing the news and lawmakers in the Italian parliament burst out in a round of applause, media reports said. national/18-Apr-2012/qaeda-frees-italian-hostage

AQAP has not been as generous with releasing their prisoner without their demands being met.

JEDDAH — Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is holding Abdullah Al-Khalidi, the Saudi diplomat kidnapped last month in Yemen’s main southern city of Aden, a senior Ministry of Interior official said here Tuesday.

Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki, spokesman of the ministry, said an Al-Qaeda member confirmed in a telephone call to the Saudi ambassador in Sana’a that the network “is responsible for the kidnapping of the deputy concul in Yemen, saying that their demands include handing over several prisoners to members of the network in Yemen”.
The caller, Mishal Muhammad Rasheed Al-Shodokhi, one of the 85 men on the Saudi list of wanted terrorists, assured the ambassador that the kidnapped envoy was in perfect health.

Al-Shodokhi also threatened more attacks including an embassy bombing and the assassination of a Saudi prince.

Al-Khalidi, the Kingdom’s deputy consul, was kidnapped outside his residence in Aden on March 28.

“There are some people here who have been calling, ever since Khalidi was kidnapped, to prepare the knives (to kill him)... Now it is a consul kidnapped, tomorrow it will be an embassy bombing and after that a prince killed,” Al-Shodokhi said, according to a transcript of his conversation with the embassy released by the Saudi authorities.

The Al-Qaeda member during the telephone conversation identified the names of the female prisoners, who are as follows: Najwa Al-Saidi, Arwa Baghdadi, Hanan Samkari, Najla Al-Roumi and Haifa Al-Ahmadi! This is amazing for one simple reason, namely that most of those women’s names identified by Al-Qaeda are already the subjects of major campaigns undertaken on their behalf on the Internet, and social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, under the guise of human rights demands.

Assange has big inspirations, he also plans a run for a Senate Seat in Australia's next elections.

Update 4.18.12

KARACHI: Murtaza Razvi, a senior assistant editor and head of magazines at Dawn, was murdered in the early hours of Thursday, in Karachi. According to police, Razvi’s body was found in an office apartment in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area. His hands were tied and his body bore torture marks and he had apparently been strangled to death.

Comment: Who could do such a thing and why? TTP has issued threats against Pakistani and US officials if the NATO supply line to Afghanistan is re-opened. Pakistani officials want information. Journalists usually are privy to information necessary to get the news out; however their position is like that of Doctors or Priests, they have a sacrosanct position of being allowed to keep their sources private without interference or harassment from the govt. This is not the first time a Pakistani journalist has ended up tortured and murdered for refusing to violate his principles. What's going on?

Credible threats from Hakimullah to Pakistani and US authorities about what is to come if they open that NATO supply line.

Hakimullah Mehsud, Amir, of TTP convened a recent meeting in NWZ (subsequent to the one held in February) to plan targeted attacks if the Pakistani govt. re-opens the NATO supply routes into Afghanistan. From reports that came out targets include US diplomats, and Pakistani leadership including but not limited to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Imran Khan, and Jamiat Ulema Islami head Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Another report says that Jundallah met and is planning attacks in Islamabad and Rawalpindi and has designated 21 fighters for that purpose. Hakimullah will assign the targets.

Comment: How credible is this? Very, he broke 384 people out of Bannu prison for this purpose. Here's one of them, the one who was the main person they need for their next operation. eo-footage/
Video of Adnan Rashid, the prisoner TTP wanted to break out of Bannu.

Further Comments: Hakimullah is an elite Commander. In addition to the above, he is also taking care of some housekeeping issues among the tribes and fighters, so that nothing will stand in the way once they get ready for the revenge against the NATO supply opening attacks. Can't have factional fighting distracting the men.

Intense fighting has been taking place between TTP and Haqqani fighters. The fighting was in retaliation of the death of TTP Commander Jehanzeb Khan and Commander Qadir Haqqani. (Commander Qadir Haqqani was killed last week).

The TTP faction was led by Jehanzeb Khan’s cousin Sattar who replaced him as Commander after his martyrdom. Sattar had an old score to to settle to avenge the blood of his cousin. Mullah Sangeen was leading the Haqqani faction, and is actually an Afghan Talib. There are estimates that hundreds of fighters were involved in the fighting with losses on both sides. Nothing is as fierce as fighting mujahids. Tribal clerics are trying to stop the fighting which is going on in Malik Shadam Khan area of NWA’s Speen Waam sub-district. The Haqqani side has killed 6 people including a woman from the TTP side.

Khan's two years of vocal opposition to the Taliban turned violent when his tribe forced the Taliban to release his kidnapped son early this year. Two of his relatives recently were killed by the Taliban. ban_leader/24553938.html

REMARKS: The US wants to hold the Haqqani faction responsible for the attacks (18 hours worth of fighting) this past weekend, but it was Omar's Talibs who coordinated it. Hekmatyar wants to broker peace for Afghanistan, yet it is THEIR country, the US wants to negotiate with the Haqqani network, yet it is THEIR country. Our foreign policy misunderstandings are fueling jihad.

Update 4.19.12

STRASBOURG/LONDON (Reuters) - A Jordanian cleric once described as Osama bin Laden's "right-hand man in Europe" has lodged a last-minute appeal against his deportation from Britain, a European court source said on Wednesday, potentially thwarting British hopes of a swift eviction.
Photo of Qatada, the man the extradition is all about.

The fatwa issued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei forbidding the production, proliferation and use of nuclear bombs is to be considered a political milestone in Iranian history and one which can salvage the Islamic nation from the spate of external threats and plots. Some Iranian officials have expressed hope and optimism the next round of talks slated to be held in Baghdad on May 23 will come to fruition.

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told reporters in Zagreb, Croatia, on Wednesday, “We are optimistic about the future of negotiations and want the other sides to put their words into action.”

COMMENT: Pretty interesting make a fatwa, that everyone should abide by, but the US will not because the US wants to have nuclear weapons. Then they will call the US hypocrites allowing some countries to have them and others not to.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not the way the US media portrays him. When a man approached his motorcase complaining that he was hungry, the President himself gave the man a wad of cash. And a woman who climbed up on his truck, he spoke with her, It is not clear if she got in the back of his vehicle or just got off the back of it and might meet with him later to discuss an issue that was important to her. He is accessible to his people.

SYRIA to-syria-signed

Syria on Thursday signed a preliminary accord outlining a protocol for a U.N. mission to monitor a fragile week-old ceasefire in the strife-torn country, the two sides announced.

Update 4.20.12

Regarding the dissention between Iran and the Saudis over the three islands forty miles off the Saudi coast, which Iran maintains are their possession, and they plan to develop a tourism area on one of the islands with income producing hotels etc. They have now asked the UN to intervene.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran wrote to the United Nations to underline its sovereignty over three Persian Gulf islands in the face of renewed allegations by the United Arab Emirates. "The recent visit to the island of Abu Musa by the president of the Islamic republic is based on the right of sovereignty and national integrity," the letter stressed.

It said that Iran was ready to have "constructive talks" with the UAE over any "misunderstanding" emanating from "the implementation of documents exchanged in 1971."

International documents clearly show that the three islands of the Greater Tunb, the Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa which were historically owned by Iran, temporarily fell to British control in 1903. The islands were returned to Iran based on an agreement in 1971 before the UAE was born.

Under international law, no state can defy any agreement, which came into being before its establishment. Yet, the UAE continues to make territorial claims against the Islamic Republic despite historical evidence and international regulations.

There are some other disturbing reports that Iran plans to cut off internet access for it's country and only allow them an "intra net", "intranet".

According to reports Iran shuts down access to internet and cuts off access to many popular websites and email services by August 2012. Reza Taghipour, Minister of Information and Technology of Iran said in a statement that they will introduce a local Intranet in order to provide clean and filtered internet services to the country.

The new project is set to start next month and it will block the popular websites like Google, Yahoo and Hotmail and will replace them with government Intranet alternatives like Iran Mail and Iran Search Engines. Other services will remain online until August 2012 when Iran government introduce a full blocking system of the worldwide web, confirmed by Reza Taghipour in a statement.

“All internet service providers must only provide national internet by August 2012”, said Reza Taghipour, the Communication Minister. He further added that the open internet promotes disunity, crimes, unsound moral contents and atheism in Iran.

This comes as Iran’s government announced its intention to take the country off the grid last July, and this year saw ominous signs of that threat developing as it began monitoring Internet cafe usage and blocking VPN (virtual private network) systems during what were said to be tests of an intranet system.

REMARKS: Censorship is wrong, and I cannot believe that they would do this, when war could break out at any time, wouldn't they want to world to help them? Maybe that is a rhetorical questions, we can look at Syria and see that they do not want the outside world to even know what is going on in their country, they assassinate journalists.

The Taliban claim responsibility for downing a US Blackhawk helicopter Yesterday (Thursday) evening Taliban fighters shot down a helicopter and killed all its passengers in Khanashen Dewalak area near Garmsir, southern Helmand province," a Taliban spokesman wrote to CNN.

COMMENT: But there is bigger news of something going on over there.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The head of NATO called on China and Russia on Thursday to help fund Afghan security after 2014, as the alliance tries to rally contributions from a wider range of sources before most foreign combat troops pull out of Afghanistan.

NATO estimates that the annual cost of maintaining Afghan security forces will be some $4 billion (2.5 billion pounds), and the United States is hoping for contributions worth 1 billion euros ($1.3 billion) from other NATO allies and partners. But so far only Britain has publicly pledged an actual amount of cash, $110 million a year.

"We would welcome financial contributions from Russia, China and other countries to ensure a strong sustainable Afghan security force beyond 2014," Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen told a news conference in Brussels, where NATO foreign and defence ministers were meeting to prepare for a summit next month in Chicago.

The Chinese officials I have asked about financing Afghan security forces have been sceptical, saying they'd rather provide support on the civilian and economic side," said Andrew Small at The German Marshall Fund of the United States.

On Thursday, NATO ministers met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and tried to narrow differences with Russia over Syria, Afghanistan and missile defence - all areas where NATO allies would like Russian support to promote stability.

Rasmussen said Russia had offered the use of a new transit route, which will allow ISAF to send supplies in and out of Afghanistan using both the Russian rail network and air transport. The route is expected to pass through the town of Ulyanovsk, said two officials, one in Russia and one in Brussels. ces/24554286.html

REMARKS: Russian or Chinese intervention will be as well received as the Soviet troops were during the last war. If Russia allows ISAF supplies to be sent thru their country, this war will turn into the second Afghan War with Russia, the US allying with Russia to send supplies to kill Afghans cannot be welcomed in the Muslim world. The fighters know the Saudis are involved, that is why they are fighting for Yemen and Somalia, at some point, they will try to take down the Saudi regime which is working with the US, who will be working with Russia and China against them.

The U.N. Security Council has scheduled a vote on a draft resolution on Saturday to authorize the deployment to Syria of up to 300 unarmed military observers, despite U.S. and European concerns that Damascus has yet to fully implement a ceasefire.

The United Nations announced on Friday the 15-nation council planned to hold the vote at 11:00 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT). It will be considering a compromise resolution that combines Russian and European drafts.

REMARKS: I doubt Assad will welcome 300 military observers, he won't even allow journalists to report on what is going on. The situation even in Egypt is not stable, protesters are back in Tahrir Square protesting the military running their country.

An oil pipeline in Syria’s Deir-Ezzour Province has come under attack on Saturday.State news agency, SANA, reported that an armed group targeted the oil pipeline near Abu Hamam area with explosive device. The agency quoted an official source in Ministry of Petroleum as saying that the 12-inch pipeline transfers oil from al-Tank field of al-Furat Petroleum Company to Alti-Two Station.

Pakistan may be asked to contribute to that 300 member military observer group that will go to Syria.

Both the Russian and French-American drafts propose deployment of 300 unarmed observers for an initial 90-days period. The French-American draft stressed the importance that the Syrian government, as well as the Syrian opposition, should implement Annan’s six-point plan and abide by the ceasefire calls for the establishment within 90 days “of a U.N. Supervision. Should any of the Resolution is approved by UN Security Council, Pakistan, India and several other nations will be asked for contribution to the new UN Mission.” According to diplomatic sources Pakistan will consider sincerely if asked to contribute to the establishment of peace in brother country Syria. nitors-into-homs/

This gives us the ability to initiate a hit and run attack faster than any other country can, or to respond to an attack that occurs in the Middle East. If we really wanted peace, we would work with all other nations to have a global non proliferation treaty, so that NOBODY has or needs nuclear weapons. We would have a hands off and out of other country's domestic affairs. Sadly, we do not. We "pre-emtpively" intervene.

US to stay in Afghanistan until 2024
Financial Times By Matthew Green April 22, 2012

Karachi - US forces will stay in Afghanistan until 2024 under a deal aimed at reassuring the Afghan public, regional powers and insurgents that Washington will not abandon Kabul after most foreign troops withdraw.

Mr Karzai and Barack Obama, the US president, are due to sign the document at a Nato summit in Chicago next month. May 20th. The Taliban responded to the draft agreement within minutes, issuing a detailed statement condemning it as a giveaway to the Americans.

The goals of the agreement for the Americans, the Taliban statement said, are:

“First goal: Securing routes to the Central Asian and Caspian oil fields.

Second goal: Prevention of a movement in favor of a true Islamic government.

Third goal: Bringing secularism and liberalism to Afghanistan.

Fourth goal: Establishing an army hostile to Islam that protects Western interests.

Fifth goal: Continuous threats to Islamic countries in the region and the prevention of political and military ties between them and Afghanistan.”

COMMENTS: Well can you really say there assessments are inaccurate? We are promoting secular (democratic) law be implemented there, we are trying to develop the Caspian oil and other resources along with strategic partners of 'foreign investors', the US thought is that it will give locals jobs and create economic stability in the country and raise them out of poverty. Helping to raise people out of poverty is not a bad thing, but if it is done in a way that violates their religious, Islamic law, (ie. financing based on usury), you cannot expect them to embrace, accept this.

They want to live a simple, nomadic lifestyle, there has to be some compromise for any reconstruction efforts to truly bring peace and prosperity to the Afghan people.

The ongoing onslaught of Taliban forces just to get them out of the way so these ventures can succeed is also in violation of Islamic law which specifically defines how and when people may fight, and the conditions under which you may kill someone (must be self defense, no pre-emptive wars etc.). The US troops being there and the things that they are doing violate the tenets of jihad as specified in the religion of Islam. This is one of the points that no one wants to look at. From a religious standpoint, they have the right to fight back because we are trying to implement secular law which is in opposition to Islamic law. p-Withdrawal--148513645.html

There is an International Peace Forum to be held June 14 in Ashgabat.

The preparatory meeting in Ashgabat will consider the project 'Istanbul process: a new agenda for regional cooperation in the Heart of Asia'.

The conference in Kabul will be attended by delegations from 15 countries and 14 observer countries, including delegations from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Japan and the delegation of 10 international and regional organisations, including the UN, EU, NATO, OSCE and UNAMA. =2024

The Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, signed the agreement of the project with presidential chief of staff, Karim Khorram in Kabul,” the office said in a statement. The center will have the capacity of 3,000 people at the same time and will become as a room for big national and important gatherings, according to the statement. 54%3Achina-to-build-afghan-center-for-jirgas-conference-&catid=13%3Arec onstruction&Itemid=20&lang=en

AND Iran has graciously agreed to allow refugees to remain there till 2017, since US troops are not leaving Afghanistan till after 2014. Only 20,000 troops leave there by the end of this year. At least 70,000 US troops remain and will be there next year, and the year after and probably longer than that.

Fars News Agency
April 24, 2012
TEHRAN (FNA)- Afghanistan's Refugees and Repatriation Deputy Minister Samad Hami announced on Tuesday that Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan are due to sign an agreement on issues related to the Afghan refugees.

"Based on the agreement, the Afghan refugees can remain in Iran and Pakistan until 2017," Hami said in a press conference in Kabul. According to the Afghan official, the new agreement underlines that his countrymen should not be expelled from Iran and Pakistan forcefully.

He said that 930,000 Afghans are living in Iran under the support of the UN and 1,400,000 reside in the country as refugees and are not supported by the world body.

SYRIA d-in-syria-explosion.html?ref=world

There are reports coming in that 70 people have been killed in rocket attacks and shelling in Homs.

Another activist reached via Skype, Rabih al-Assi, said he lived not far from the wrecked buildings. “The entire neighborhood heard the sound of shelling,” he said, claiming that up to 15 houses had been destroyed or damaged.

Some want to say oh it was resistance fighters who had an accidental explosion in a house where they were making bombs, but that only accounts for the deaths of 16 people.

The opposition Syrian National Council has called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting "so that it can issue a resolution to protect civilians". It says nearly 100 people have been killed in Hama in recent days.

Kofi Annan has responded:

“Mr Annan told the Security Council on Tuesday that the Syrian military had not withdrawn from population centres. He condemned as "totally unacceptable and reprehensible", reports that troops entered Hama after UN observers departed on Monday, and carried out summary executions as punishment for having spoken to them.”

Beirut, Asharq Al-Awsat – The Grand Mufti of Syria, Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, described the battle that is currently taking place in Syria as a “battle against our roots”, adding that “if Syria collapses, this will lead to the collapse of neighboring states, starting with Lebanon and ending with Saudi Arabia, through Jordan and Iraq; this is because the plan for the Arab and Islamic world is to ensure that no strong state remains, and for our people to kill one another.”

The Syrian Grand Mufti confirmed that “the West has authored the term ‘Arab Spring’ to contain the popular resistance [against Israel], in order to target the roots of the ummah and enslave us.”

“what is happening in Syria today is not a process to topple the regime, but rather an operation to push Syria towards religious, cultural and ethnic fragmentation that will create centuries of chaos in the Arab world” adding “this chaos will benefit the Zionist entity that has impudently announced the establishment of the first religious state in the entire region.”

Sheikh Hassoun called on the Syrian opposition “not to be taken in by the Western project [the Arab Spring] and seize power [in Syria], thereby turning Syria into a democratic state in the western model” adding “this is a pipe dream.” The Syrian Grand Mufti also confirmed that “the West has authored the term ‘Arab Spring’ to contain the popular resistance [against Israel] in order to target the cultural and historic roots of the ummah, to strengthen its own position and enslave us.”

COMMENTS: Is he the only one who thinks this way? No.
Algeria feels the same way. Threatening the public that if they do not take part in the elections, NATO will come to attack the country and ‘liberate’ them the way we liberated the Libyan people.

“Colonial powers are waiting for people to abstain from voting so they can then claim that they want to liberate Algerians from tyranny and allow NATO to interfere as happened in Libya.” Algerian President Abdel Aziz Bouteflika said. Elections are scheduled for May 10.

Why do they need drones here in this country? Is it a prelude to this?

You don't think that could happen here right? -killer-spy-planes-exposed-FAA-forced-reveal-63-launch-sites-U-S.html

Sixty three launch sites all around the country.

Do you really believe a bunch of Canadians are going to storm our borders to come here? Or even the Mexicans that we need SIXTY THREE drone launch site bases in this country! The Mexicans and Canadians would not have a need to do that. North America is going to become the North American Union in cooperation with Canada and Mexico so that it is essentially one big Continent for trade.

You ought to think about why there are 63 drone bases in this country, that will put drones up in the sky to observe and/or assassinate US citizens. Assassinating Anwar Al Awlaki, who was a US citizen was the legal precedent case giving them the authority to do that do ANY US citizen. You think it is an un related event? No. It just laid the legal groudwork for them to be ABLE to do it, when they want to.

IRAN 021602873.html

The Islamic Republic of Iran said Tuesday that it has the ability to position a naval vessel within three miles of the East Coast of the United States.

“The power of our naval forces is such that we have a presence in all the waters of the world and, if needed, we can move to within three miles of New York,” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said Tuesday during a speech to the students of the University of Yazd in Iran. His remarks were quoted by an Iranian student news agency.

The Americans’ only tool to rule the world is their naval dominance of the Persian Gulf,” Fadavi added, “and they will face any other power that threatens their status.”
But on Friday, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Iran’s top air force commander, told the Fars New Agency that the Islamic republic’s military is also capable of crippling or disabling U.S. aircraft carriers.

“First, sinking an aircraft carrier is not a complicated task,” Hajizadeh said. ”Second, an aircraft carrier is equipped with so many advanced, delicate, and sensitive devices … that it could be incapacitated by even the smallest explosion.”

Concerns about Iran’s nuclear-weapons ambitions make the threat of a naval incursion into U.S. waters a more pressing issue. Texas Republican Rep. Michael Conaway is promoting the Credible Military Option to Counter Iran Act, H.R. 4485, as one measure to prevent Iran from building a nuclear bomb.

The bill formalizes an understood U.S. policy “to take all necessary measures, including military action if required, to prevent Iran from threatening the United States, its allies, or Iran’s neighbors with a nuclear weapon.” It also allocates more than $594 million to enhance American firepower in the Persian Gulf region in fiscal 2012 and 2013.

“Preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon is among the most urgent national security challenges facing the United States,” Conaway wrote Wednesday in a “dear colleague” letter to other members of Congress. His legislation is needed, he said, “to prevent the increasingly dangerous situation in Iran from spiraling out of control.”
“My bill demonstrates to a defiant Iranian regime that the United States is prepared to take military action should they not halt their nuclear program,” Conaway told TheDC on Friday. “We must have a credible military option on the table to advance any real negotiations.”

Iranian Revolutionary Guards naval commanders said in July 2011 that they would expand their mission into the Atlantic Ocean, and that the country had equipped a number of its vessels with long-range ballistic missiles.

In September, Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said Iran planned to deploy naval vessels in the Atlantic Ocean. “The Navy has a strong presence in the Caspian Sea, Persian Gulf, Sea of Oman, Indian Ocean and international waters and soon it will be present in the Atlantic Ocean,” Vahidi said.

On that same day, Rear Adm. Fadavi dismissed the idea of setting up a military hotline between U.S. and Iran. Media reports had quoted an unidentified U.S. defense official floating the idea after a series of close encounters between the countries’ forces in the Persian Gulf.

“When we go to the Gulf of Mexico,” Fadavi said, “we will establish direct communication with them.”

Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says the country’s naval forces plan to maintain their presence in international waters as one of their strategic objectives.

Iran's Navy dispatched fleets of warships to the Indian Ocean, Bab al-Mandab Strait, the Gulf of Aden, Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea during the last Iranian calendar year (ended on March 19, 2012), Sayyari told IRNA on Sunday.

“We will safeguard the country’s interests through naval presence in the international waters,” he added.

COMMENTS: "My bill demonstrates to a defiant Iranian regime that the United States is prepared to take military action should they not halt their nuclear program,” Conaway told TheDC on Friday. “We must have a credible military option on the table to advance any real negotiations.”

"take military action should they not halt their nuclear program". That is politico speak for we will start a war against that country if they do not do what we want them to do. Maybe that explains the drone bases. If Americans object to us starting wars on other countries, the drones will just shoot us too. No meaningful protest marches will be able to be waged.

4.28.12 Update

The Paris-based investigative website Mediapart on Saturday published what it said was documentary evidence of the illegal campaign funding. The 2006 document, written in Arabic, was signed by Gaddafi's intelligence chief Moussa Koussa, who reportedly now lives in Doha, Qatar.

It referred to an "agreement in principle to support the campaign for the candidate for the presidential elections, Nicolas Sarkozy, for a sum equivalent to 50 million euros [$66m]".

The document refers to a meeting that allegedly took place on June 6, 2006, between Brice Hortefeux, Sarkozy’s close ally, and Ziad Takieddine, a Franco-Lebanese businessman who has been at the centre of a number of political scandals linked to Sarkozy and his inner circle. Elections are May 6th. tion-Nicolas-Sarkozy-forced-to-deny-he-received-50-million-euros-from-Muamm ar-Gaddafi.html

Sarkozy denies it all.

COMMENT: Now there are allegations that Moammar Qaddafi funded Sarkozy’s presidential election in 2007? Why is this coming out now? Sarkozy did not go along with the idea of nuking Iran pre-emptively. French elections are May 6th, either that is just a coincidence or ..... I think you can fill in the blanks.

AQAP has decided to release the 73 soldier hostages that they have held. As recently as Saturday they planned to begin executing them today, ten at a time, but they changed their mind!

In a statement, the group said Nasser al-Wuhayshi, the leader of Qaeda’s Yemen-based wing, had authorized their release after negotiations with tribal elders and religious scholars who visited Jaar, which the militants have renamed “the emirate of Waqar.”
Wuhayshi’s involvement is further evidence of Ansar al-Sharia’s links to Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), which CIA director David Petraeus described last year as “the most dangerous regional node in the global jihad.”

A Yemeni journalist at the handover said the group had explained they were freeing the soldiers “for the sake of God” and in response to the appeals of the captives’ families and local tribal mediators.

“The militants invited local journalists, tribal mediators, human rights activists and the soldiers’ relatives to their stronghold, Jaar, to attend the ceremony,” said Wajdi al-Shaib. “The soldiers are now with their families on the way to Aden.”

This most recent abduction of soldiers took place during a clash March 4, in the area of Dofas, west of Zinjibar, when Ansar Al Sharia captured more than 70 soliders and killed 150 from the 39th Armored Brigade and the 119th Infantry Brigade in the Abyan of the Southern Military Region.

"“Because the Yemeni Government is not paying attention to the abducted soldiers and officers, they will be treated according to the Islamic law, which states that prisoners are killed, enslaved, ransomed or granted amnesty. So, all the 73 soldiers will be executed,” reads the statement."

Those who are from the areas near to Abyan will be kept until Ansar Al-Sharia get a guarantee that their relatives won’t join the local peoples’ defense committees, groups of local residents established to fight against Ansar Al-Sharia, according to the sources. A Swiss teacher and Saudi diplomat were among those abducted.

Ansar Al-Sharia stated that the drone shelled a car carrying four mujahidin in the district of Abdan in the Wilayah of Shabwa, which resulted in two martyrs and two injured. This attack comes after 24 hours from a similar attack to another car for the mujahidin in the province of Marib which resulted in the death of three mujahidin.

Historically, this is important:

October 14, 2011 Drones killed Anwar Al Awlaki’s son, Abdul Rahman al Awlaki in Shabwa. While most would quickly blame the US for any drone attacks, in this case, The Yemeni Ministry of Defense claimed responsibility for the attacks, but most believe the US did it. On October 11, 2011 AQAP assassinated the Chief of Staff in Air Force Training at Al Anad Airbase, Colonel Amin al Shami and two members of the 109 Air Brigade, Lt. Muhammad Al Kaldi and Major Tawfiq al Qutaybi were severely injured when explosives which were taped to their car were detonated by remote. AQAP said it was in retaliation to President Saleh’s attacks on them in Abyan, Arhab, andTa’izz.

The Saudi Diplomat that is/was being held is Abdallah al-Khalidi, Sheikh Tareq al-Fadli, a tribal head in Abyan and a prominent leader of Yemen’s southern separatist movement, said he had been mediating with the kidnappers for Khaladi’s release. Al Qaida demanded release of some prisoners being held in Saudi prisons. al Qaeda caller had been identified as Mishaal al-Shodoukhi, who was named on a list of fugitive al Qaeda militants by Saudi authorities in 2009.

Shodoukhi said his group would “prepare the knives” unless their demands were met, an official Saudi spokesman said, and threatened further attacks, including an embassy bombing and the assassination of a Saudi prince.

COMMENT: Saudi Arabia does not want to have a attack on a Saudi prince. The Saudis really do not want all the media attention and they do not want Al Qaida in the Arabian peninsula to be in an uproar and destabilize their country, it is believed they have been involved in the negotiations which helped to release the prisoners.

President Obama went to Bagram yesterday on the anniversary of the raid on the Abbottabad compound last year when he announced to the world that the US forces killed Osama. I could spend a lot of time saying why I do not believe Osama was killed that night in that raid, but one journalist last night had the best opinion on that. He said 'if the US had just gotten a bunch of intelligence information, from all the computers at the compound, they know once they announce that, the information will dry up'.

So if the US wanted to really impact Al Qaida, why announce that you got a "treasure trove" of secret info? I think either he was not there at the compound when the raid happened if it was his house, or it was not his compound and the US had a lot of explaining to do attacking a house in Pakistan.

The US has long maintained that nobody in Pakistan was told about the raid, but there have been those in Pakistan who testified before the bin Laden Commission in Pakistan that Pakistan did know about it and participated in it.

Directly after the raid, approval was granted for 860 more Blackwater personnell to go to Pakistan.

I. As to where things are now, there was a chopper that landed in Abbottabad 5/2/11 one hour before the US choppers arrived. Osama may have left there on that one and be living free. I could debunk and question the discrepancies in the acccounts of that day, but I thnk we should move forward to where we are now.

Al Qaida has issued a press release regarding the proposed transfer of Abu Qatada, held in British custody to Jordan.

Al-Qaeda Organization in the Islamic Maghreb: A statement and initiative regarding the intention of Britain to extradite Sheikh Abu Qatada

Alhamdulillah who said: (The Believers men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practice regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise) 71 Surah At-Taubah, and peace and blessings be upon our master Mohammed who said: “A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him”, and his pure family, companions, then:

We have followed with concern for years the tragedy which is lived by the Muslim prisoner sheikh Abu Qatada Al-Filistini in the prisons of Britain, that state that claim it is the land of guaranteed freedoms and protected rights, but the case of sheikh Abu Qatada – and other oppressed Muslims in that country – exposed the absurdity of these broad claims and flimsy allegations… How could it be possible that the sheikh be imprisoned for years for no crime or guilt except that he exercised his right to express his opinion and beliefs in honesty and integrity with his tongue and pen?!

We to a near time expected from the British government to listen to reason and review itself and stop its injustice to the sheikh by releasing him and giving him political asylum to the location that he chooses, we were surprised these days that the British government intends to extradite him to the treacherous Jordanian government which its black record overflows with unprecedented crimes against the Islamist prisoners.

We before this new episode from the series of oppressions that are committed against the captive sheikh: Out of our support to the oppressed Muslims all over the World, and seeking to defend the oppressed we declare in this statement:

1. Launch an initiative to the British government: to release its captive citizen held by us “Stephen Malcolm” who has British and South African dual citizenship, if it allows for Sheikh Abu Qatada to be deported to one of the “Arab Spring” countries or other countries which the sheikh chooses and grantees his freedom, rights and dignity.

2. We hope that the British government deals with our initiative with objectivity, reason, and wisdom, but if it becomes stubborn and refuses the positive offer then we will make her responsible for the consequences of extraditing sheikh Abu Qatada to the Jordanian government, and we remind the sane in these government that embarking this matter – under any justification – in addition that it will deprive them a valuable opportunity to release their citizen, it will open on their country and its spread subjects a door a evil that they can dispense with it.

3. We confirm that our support for the captive sheikh Abu Qatada is from aiding the oppressed Muslims solely, and the sheikh has no organizational relation with us or any other Jihadi organization.

THE (Afghan) Taliban have issued a media press release regarding Obama and Karzai's Strategic Partnership agreement and the commencement of it's spring offensive called Al Farooq

Wednesday May 2, 2012 Wednesday, 10 Jamadil Akhir 1433

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent and Merciful

Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people (Taubah: 14)

It has been a little over ten years since Afghanistan has come under the barbaric occupation of foreign invaders and countless defenseless Afghans are martyred, imprisoned, their homes destroyed and orchards uprooted by these cruel occupiers with the passage of each day. But as the intensity of cruelty and savagery of the invaders increases, the fervor of Jihad and struggle amongst the heroic Afghans strengthens proportionally and with the inception of each year, the battle trenches are enkindled against the oppressors with high moral, new war tactics and strong Jihadi determination. With pure divine intentions and exemplary determination, our lives are cheaply sacrificed for the defense and service of our oppressed nation while delivering falsehood extinguishing blows to the enemy.

As the period for the inception of new Jihadi activities against the foreign forces each year is chosen and named by Islamic Emirate under new Jihadi title in consideration with the seasonal and atmospheric conditions, we would once again like to announce the current year’s spring operation against the invaders under the glorified Jihadi name of ‘Al-Farooq’.

The name Al-Farooq, which is the honored title of the second Khalifa of Islam Hazrat Omar R.A, was chosen for this year’s operation so that with its blessing, Allah Almighty might bestow on Mujahideen such victories as were awarded to the Muslims during the triumphant period of Hazrat Omar R.A where huge swaths of lands of the infidels fell under the rule of the Muslims and the enemies were forced to take flight.

It must be stated that the primary target of Al-Farooq operation will be the foreign invaders, their advisors, their contractors and members of all associated military, intelligence and auxiliary departments.

And similarly, the high ranking officials of the stooge Kabul regime; members of Parliament; those associated with Ministries of Defense, Intelligence and Interior; members of the so called High Peace Council; Militia under the name of ‘Arbaki’ and all those people who work against the Mujahideen, toil to pave ground for the occupation of Afghanistan and become the cause for the strength of the invaders will also be targeted in Al-Farooq operation.

New and tested war tactics will be implemented in Al-Farooq operation and top priority will be given to safeguarding the lives and wealth of civilians. It is hoped that civilians stay away from the bases of invaders and their hirelings, their military convoys and refrain from going close to explosion sites as the enemy intentionally targets civilians to avenge the caused death/injury and attributes it to the Taliban.

Al-Farooq Jihadi spring operation shall commence simultaneously in all parts of Afghanistan on 14th Suwar 1391 which corresponds with 12 Jammad ul Thani 1433 and 3rd May 2012.

The Islamic Emirate, alongside launching its Al-Farooq spring operation, once again calls on all those associated with the puppet administration of Karzai, the so called national army, national police and all those who are siding with the invaders in opposition to the interests of Islam to stop backing the invaders and to abandon their ranks. In case this call is not heeded, all responsibility shall befall the transgressors because the Mujahideen, in defense of their country and religious sanctities, are Islamically bound and have the right to kill the foreign occupiers and their supporters, capture them and to prosecute them for their illegal actions. The Islamic Emirate, in order to establish contact and bring out officials and privates from the opposition rank, has assigned an influential ‘Recruitment’ Commission which works to invite them towards the truth and in case they want to join the Mujahideen, to lend all necessary assistance and guidance.

The Islamic Emirate would also like to declare to all the foreign invaders including the Americans that if you still desire to continue the occupation of our country, abuse our sanctities and oppress our defenseless nation then the Mujahideen shall also take inspiration from the historical achievements of the distinguisher of truth and falsehood, Hazrat Omar R.A. and utilize all means and military craftsmanship at disposal in their Al-Farooq spring operation to kill, expel and eliminate you.

In this battle of truth and falsehood, victory and ascendency shall be awarded to the Mujahideen while defeat and humiliation shall be the fate of your moral-lacking soldiers, if Allahs wills it.

With the divine help of Allah, we are awaiting the moments when our nation shall be freed from the evil of your occupation and the Afghans become the owners of a pure Islamic system in an atmosphere of brotherhood, national unity and peace and of a government free from corruption with total security, effective education, strong economy and a tranquil life, if Allah wills it.

The Leadership Council of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

REMARKS: Those peace talks and opening the office in Qatar can progress only if the US honors the agreement it was working on to release the five prisoners from Guantanamo that the Taliban requested. Mulla Fazal Akhund, Noorullah Noori, Abdul Haq Waseeq, Khairullah Khairkhwa and Mohammad Nabi. The US soldier, Bowe Berghdal was kidnapped by Mullah Sangeen of the Haqqani Network. He too could be released negotiations took place.

For real peace to occur, foreign troops have to leave Afghan soil. One of the big problems is the foreign investors who want to come in and develop Afghan natural resources, no one wants to discuss that politically. It needs to be discussed otherwise, you can develop that Caspian Sea oil pipeline and it will get blown up. The Taliban even came to the US to consider letting the US help with the oil, then they rejected the Unocal offer and wanted to go with Bridas, (before 9/2001) and were told "take this offer on this carpet of gold or get it on a carpet of bombs". Long term stability in Afghanistan requires a different approach.

As to the Pakistanis NOT being involved in the May 2 Raid: %20d-ijaz

"Islamabad, March 03:

Controversial Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz, a key figure in the memo scandal, today claimed that President Asif Ali Zardari had advance information of the US military raid that killed al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad last year.

Ijaz further claimed that Zardari had telephoned army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on the day of the US raid and asked him not to use F-16 combat jets to target the helicopters carrying the American troops.

He made the remarks during an interaction with the media before entering the Pakistan High Commission in London to depose via a video link before a Supreme Court-appointed judicial commission that is investigating the memo issue.

He contended that his claims were similar to those made in a report in The News daily.
"I can confirm that the two people that are referred to in the document are... The (army chief) Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, who received a call from President Asif Ali Zardari, essentially asking him to stand the F-16s down that had been scrambled to take care of the US helicopters in Pakistani airspace," Ijaz told the reporters.

"As far as I know, it was Gen Kayani and President Zardari that had that conversation. It's pretty clear."

Ijaz claimed that Pakistan's former envoy to the US, Husain Haqqani, could end the memo issue by speaking up on the matter.

Haqqani was forced to resign after Ijaz claimed last year that he drafted and delivered the memo to US authorities on the envoy's instructions. The memo had sought US help to stave off a feared coup in Pakistan after the killing of bin Laden.Haqqani and the government here have dismissed the claims by Ijaz, who has so far not made public any credible evidence to back up his allegations.

Ijaz contended that Haqqani "could end this whole fiasco in one minute by simply standing up and telling the truth about what it was that he did. He knows what he did, I know what he did."

The report in The News daily, which quoted an email that its reporter received from an anonymous sender, said Pakistani air traffic controllers had detected the entry of four US helicopters into Pakistani airspace between 12.39 am and 12.47 am on May 2 last year.
One of the helicopters was reportedly a remote-controlled aircraft.

The American pilots initially told the air traffic controllers that they were headed to Chaklala airbase in Rawalpindi but later diverted their course towards Abbottabad.
On being asked the reason for this, they said this was due to "dense clouds" in their path.
The helicopters then began hovering over Abbottabad and an American pilot said this was because of a technical problem.

The air traffic controllers became suspicious and alerted the Pakistan Air Force.
The army's General Headquarters and Special Service Group too were alerted, the report said.

Personnel from Pakistan's Special Operations Task Force were barred by American personnel from entering the compound in Abbottabad and a senior Pakistani military officer was told by someone in the Pentagon that permission had been granted for the operation, the report said.

Though four F-16s were scrambled from the PAF bases at Peshawar and Sargodha to intercept the US helicopters, the report said "one senior person contacts the office of another senior person to say that he has permitted the operation, thus no intervention should be made."

Ijaz referred to this media report and claimed the two senior persons were Kayani and Zardari. imony.html

ISLAMABAD: The judicial commission probing the Memogate scandal continued recording US businessman Mansoor Ijaz’s testimony today at Pakistan’s High Commission in London, DawnNews reported on Thursday.

During his testimony today, Ijaz admitted that he had prepared the first draft of the controversial memo himself without former ambassador to US Husain Haqqani’s consent. Former US General James Jones had asked for the message to be in written form, said Ijaz, adding that he had to author the first draft himself after he was unable to get hold of Haqqani.

Ijaz, who is testifying to the commission by video link, claimed he agreed on secret codes for the army and intelligence chiefs with Haqqani.

Ijaz told judges that the former wrote him a message on his Blackberry referring to the Pakistani government as “friend”, and army chief General Ashfaq Kayani and ISI chief Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha as “bad boys”.

He also claimed that Ispahani, which is Haqqani’s wife’s second name, was their code word for the Americans. Asked by the commission, what he meant by “bad boys”, Ijaz replied: “they are army chief and DG (director general) ISI (Pakistan’s intelligence service).”
Claiming that he was a Muslim, and reciting the first ‘kalma’ as evidence, Ijaz said that he was clearing any ambiguity Haqqani’s lawyer had raised on his religious background.

Earlier on Wednesday, he said Haqqani told him that the approach to the Americans had been authorised by Zardari “who wanted to put together a new national security team similar to national security team in USA”.

Zahid Bukhari, counsel of former ambassador to US Husain Haqqani, said that media had misreported the statement regarding seeking US help for COAS removal. The court ordered the media to show responsibility in the matter and also instructed the media not to broadcast footage of the commission’s proceedings.

The Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, Justice Faiz Essa is heading the Memo Commission while Chief Justice Sindh High Court Mushir Alam and Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Hameed-ur-Rehman are the other two members of the commission..

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz, the central character in the memo case, said on Friday that the US administration had blocked the validation of his BlackBerry set that he had used for chatting with former ambassador Husain Haqqani.
He was replying to a question asked by PML-N lawmaker’s counsel Salahuddin Mengal during cross-examination before the commission headed by Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa investigating a purported memorandum delivered to former US military chief Admiral Mike Mullen.

Mr Ijaz said a US government agency he had approached refused, under the influence of the administration, to validate the handset and verify its contents.
He said some friends tried to persuade him at the behest of Mr Haqqani and the Pakistani government to avoid the investigation.

He declined to disclose their names, but said an American lobbyist and strategist, Harlen Ullman, had become his vocal critic after the memo issue came under the spotlight. He alleged that the lobbyist had played a role in the release of Mr Haqqani from “house arrest”.

Mr Ijaz told the commission that he had remained in touch with Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt-Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha for quite some time after their meeting held on Oct 22 last year. During their communication by phone and emails, he had sent to Lt-Gen Pasha BBM (BlackBerry message) screenshots related to the memorandum and discussed matters about his security during his visit to Pakistan for recording his testimony.

While Mr Ijaz was replying to a question by Mustafa Ramday, counsel for PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, regarding his communication with Gen Pasha, the video conferencing link went down and remained so for half an hour.

He told the commission that Mr Haqqani knew about the developments regarding the May 2 incident in which US personnel had killed Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
