Was in my friend's car this morning and he was playing Gary Clark Jr CD. Sounds good. Did a search on here and saw a couple members listed him in the 'what are you listening to' thread.

Any fans here care to bring me up to speed on him?

He was just on Letterman about a week or so ago. Really enjoyed watching him. Very funky, percussive style of guitar playing. Kinda reminds of Duwayne Burnside, R.L.'s son, who used to play with NMAS and the Mississippi Mafia.

Scott, I just downloaded a couple of his shows - haven't burned or listened to 'em yet but I'd more than happy to share 'em.....lemme know....

I first heard of him through a very positive review in "Rolling Stone" of his four-song EP, so I bought it online. Damn--yeah! How does he fill out a full-length show?

Listened to both those links. But actually that is Guy Clark.

Gary Clark Jr does have some of that Burnside and Mississippi hills blues sound. Listening to When My Train Pulls In now on youtube.

I saw him back in May on the Bonnarroo Buzz Tour and he is the real deal. I expect big things to come from him.

He played a one off London gig a couple of months ago. Pretty good stuff.
Here he is in action from Shepherds Bush.
