Over the last few years I've really gotten into The Brian Setzer Orchestra's Christmas albums. The arrangements are exhilarating, the spirit is fun, his duet with Anne Margaret on Baby It's Cold Outside is really good. I absolutely love his Buddy Holly arrangement of Angels We Have Heard On High and his swing version of the Nutcracker Suite is a sweet treat. he also does the king of cool style well like Santa Claus Is Back In Town, Jingle Bells, and a Vegas-In-A-57-Chevy style version of In The Mood. His Christmas Comes Alive concert disc is a great place to start. He mixes Stray Cat Strut and You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch in a slinky, sneaky, Grinchy medley.

Other perennial favorites are Jimmy Buffett's Christmas Island, all the Bob Rivers Twisted Christmas albums, The Rat Pack, Lynyrd Skynyrd's Christmas Time Again is good fun, Elvis' Christmas, and Alligator Records Christmas Collection with Son Seals, Lonnie Brooks, Kenny Neal, Katie Webster, Elvin Bishop, Lil' Ed, Koko Taylor, etc. - that one is awesome.

I almost forgot, I love, love, love Ho! Ho! Hoey 2. I have the others but for me, his second one is the best. The Merry Axemas collections are pretty good too. I love Joe Perry's version of Blue Christmas.

Love that one too Hank. I tend to be drawn to the old time crooners when it comes to Christmas music. Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Burl Ives, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Vaughn Monroe and so on.

Agreed. Wild "Sleigh Ride", nice treatments of some of the Charlie Brown stuff and Joni Mitchell's "The River", plus some massive cultural variety. Nice discovery for this year.
