Listening to a show of there's and it got me thinking about if this band will record another album or if they have run there course. I'm hoping for more as this is the best solo project Plant has done and the live recording I have on is so good. I guess I also want them to continue so I can see them live.

My little brother is friendly with the bass player, Byron House, via Sam Bush, who Byron played with for years, and my understanding is Plant was moving onto something else. FWIW and you never know.

He is going to sing for the Newest Yardbirds with Beck and Page. One can dream.

There was a link on here about him working with Beck and Beck stating it will even be more special. Even just an album with Beck would be great.

A lot of the players from a band of joy appear on Buddy Miller's new record "majestic silver strings"

more country than the band of joy material

Twice I had tickets to see Plant with the Band of joy, and I had the flu both times. (DAR and Merriweather) oh well, that's the breaks.

Yeah, Band of Joy is over sadly. Saw them in February, and it may have been my best show all year. Just a really unique thing. Great album too.

One of the things that pushed me to the show was Darrell Scott, a very talented singer-songwriter. So imagine my surprise to see he is coming solo on 2-25 to a new venue in my own little town of Duluth GA. Run by Eddie Owen, the originator of Eddie's Attic in Decatur. Also, Patterson Hood solo on 12-2,3.

I"m guessing Darrell Scott, one of the best songwriters in America, is itching to get back to his own work as is Patty Griffin. Buddy and Byron, of course, will land on their feet as they were badass long before Robert came along.

Darrell Scott's Dad Wayne, also a musician, died a couple of weeks ago in a car accident near their home holler in KY. Darrell wrote a poem about it that day;

my father died this morning...
car accident
his first his last

helicoptered to trauma center
his end begun
& ended
all
in 4 hours

eyewitnesses say he ran
a red light
in front of a semi

impact

and the car drove half
a mile before resting inside
a wendy's on 25E

corbin, knox county,
kentucky

march 2, 1934 to this morning,
this morning,
november 18, 2011

i feel certain
he was listening
to music

darrell scott

Darrell's dad Wayne was a singer and songwriter in his own right, and I have an album of his from a few years ago.

Here is a Darrell and Wayne interview from Fresh Air in 2006:

Silas House penned piece on Wayne from No Depression;

As much as a HUGE Zep fan I am and the solo work of the guys, for the life of me I just can't get into the "Band Of Joy " stuff. I have tried multiple time to listen to the cd and I can say there are about only 3-4 songs at the most I can listen to the whole way through. I liked the stuff he did with Krauss, but this stuff is just not sinking in with me.
I really liked the stuff he did with Strange Sensation. The Mighty Rearranger was very good.
