Looks like Warren is already planning to fill the void with the WHB ending. And what a way to do it!

no no no, no no! Ugh. I need the Mule back ASAP. As much as I like Warren with Phil, 2012 needs to be the year of the Mule. Enough with soul music sojourn and now some hippy trippy stuff? I need the mule to rearrange my face at close range. I haven't felt the positive power of bad-assery since January 1, 2011. Come back Gov't Mule, come back.

I know there's going to be a Phil And Friends tour but there's nothing listed at either of the links above and nothing listed at the 1st Bank Center website. Another thing, who still uses MySpace today anyway?

I think Mule will do a full tour in the summer and the fall as they usually do. Maybe we will get a new album as well.

This is a great lineup...3 guitars or Jackie on keys?

Scofield and Warren are a trip...I recall really enjoying them together on a mt jam webcast...

I'm with you guys. I absolutely can't wait for 12/30 Mule at the beacon. It's been one of the best nights of my year for the past 10 years or so. It will be exactly a year since I've seen the Mule.

I do think the WHB was good needed break for the Mule though. I hope they come back sounding more aggressive than ever !

Cool to see Warren and Phil together also. As long as Weir isn't involved it will be good. I hear Warren and Bob get along well but on stage they sound like oil and water to me.
Warren ,Sco, Jackie and Phil sounds very interesting to me.

I don't think Warren can play as slow as Bob Weir does. Bob takes a nap between chord changes. I almost fell asleep watching Ratdog open for ABB two summers in a row. Luckily, the ABB blitzkrieg woke me up right away.

I agree, bring back Mule. However, a few one offs with this Phil and Friends line-up would be most excellent. In particular, the Sunday evening headlining slot at the 2012 Mountain Jam. And of course Mule on Friday and Saturday. That would make for a very nice Mt. Jam..

Yep, a few one-offs would be fine. Mountain Jam idea seems pretty good.

And Doug, he does read my posts religiously so you can pretty much be assured Phil and Friends will be the Sunday headliner this year...

Being that I am catching two Gov't Mule shows at the Beacon in December I could certainly forego the return of full time Mule for a month or two if that crazy good Phil lineup want to do some runs of shows. A nice six or eight show Beacon run would be quite welcomed by myself. Then a return to the Mule full scale after Mountain Jam. I normally wouldn't feel this way as I love Gov't Mule but Phil is getting up there in age and that lineup looks so good that I can't help but want to see them a few times!!!

Either Mule or Phil & Friends at Wanee would be terrific, or both bands !

I don't expect to see a full blown mule tour until summer or late spring at the earliest. Mule rarely tours in the winter and I am hoping for a return to the studio. In the interim Warren needs something to keep the juices flowing and get him out of the house when Hudson gets collicky.

I could see Warren getting a tour with Phil in the winter (hopefully Chris Robinson is in the mix their tour in '05 was really goo) > Beacon > Mule tour in the Spring & Summer > late summer ABB tour.

This would be ideal.
