Heading to the Tower show on 11/25. the wife and I are coming from Pittsburgh and staying about 4 miles away. Never been there before so any suggestions as to where to go out before the show to grab some drinks and food? Also any feedback on the venue? Ive only seen them in Pittsburgh at the large outdoor venues...

Can you be more specific re: "4 miles away"?

Right around the venue is a fairly downtrodden area. There's one bar (the name I cannot remember right now) literally around the corner from the Tower, where people meet up before concerts, but it's not really a place to eat, etc. other than to have some beers and nachos before the show.

Oh, and I am a big fan of the venue. Now, if you're upstairs, the sound -- to me -- gets a bit muddled (I find this to be a problem at other theatres as well, had the problem at the beacon before, too). But, it looks great, and if you're downstairs, I think the sound is generally superb.

I've always found the people who work there to be nice.

Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of bars in the area. The Waterford is the bar next door. Its an old-school kinda joint. Food and service are not so great if its busy, which it probably will be that weekend. If you are adventurous, Upper Darby has a "Korea-town" very close by with lots of real-deal Korean food. The venue is pretty nice. A huge upgrade over the summer outdoor venues. HAVE A GREAT TIME!

The Waterford has food & drink. Nothing fancy, but pretty good. Get there on the early side though, because it definately gets crowded.
The Tower is a fantastic place to see a show ! I've seen MANY there and highly recommend it.

Never had to take a cab from there, but I'm sure it's pretty easy. 69st terminal is right there. A major transportation hub.
