Yeah, it's a little cheesy, but I'll give him a pass since it has a manual tranny. Automatics are for posers!

Had to laugh at one of the features listed, "memory package."

At least his asking price is in the neighborhood of what a regular Joe might ask or expect.
Quick research shows that a 2005 'Vette in excellent condition with 20 - 30K miles sells in the $30k - 38k range.

One of my favorite guitar players (a "prog" guy") was selling off his Mercedes wagon a few years back (on E-bay). His price reflected that he saw it as a rock and roll collectable or something - waaay over the Blue Book value.

I guess Gregrory could have gone through Auto Trader ... but he's got this incredibly fine website at his disposal!

Hard to say since the reserve has not been met.

And by the way, why is it "cheesy" to sell a vehicle on eBay? It's a great way reach a large market and sell quickly ofr a fair price. I actually bought a car on eBay in 2004. Turned out to be a good deal and I still drive it today.

It is advertised on this site's homepage too. Ebay is fine.

Good point on the reserve price. Also Rusty does not indicate his values were for a convertible, which should add a few grand more.

Either way. If you ever see a man of my income level driving a car like that - you can bet his priorites are waaaay out of line!

Sweet-lookin' ride, though!

Ahh...thanks Brock, I didn't see it on the home page. Still no big deal in my mind though. They advertise stuff for sale here that fans might be interested in (i.e. tickets on sale dates, new HTN merchandise,...) I wonder if Gregg had consigned the car to HTN to sell would be considered cheesy if they mentioned it here?

As I often say, I have no strong objection. Still, w/ Beacon tix to go onsale soon, a fancy Vette w/ costly modifications may aggravate the tix price comments.

This may be a tough sale. Enthusiasts like the 6-speed, and the mods, but favor coupes. You'd have to install a rollbar to run this on a track.

No big deal in my view.
What is cheesy is the vet in general. I really dont like the way they look and would take a Porsche Carrera anyday before dropping $ into a Corvette.

I sold a car on Ebay. A dealer told me he could only give me scrap value. I got $4,000 when I sold it on Ebay.

I would 'drop' the $ into a Vette before dropping $$$ into a Porsche. At least a gas station can fix a Vette

Must say the only Vette I've been in was a Chevette. And no... it wasn't Greggs.

Years back, Hank III had a section on his site & would sell his old gear.....

And Leon Russell had 1 on his too, Leon had some old gear, old box truck that was set up for recording [ non functional now ] various tools from his shop & 2 of the uglyist lamps , with mathcing couch....lol....

I almost went to a yard sale once @ Garry Talents house in Nashville, over heard 2 guys talking at a music shop & said he always sold of gear that way......

Hey in a way it is his site, so it's his perogative...

So last week at rush hour bunch of cars are backed up in a row. Slow poke leader of the pack was an old old guy in a Z06 Vette putting along like grandma in his 400HP or whatever they are wonder. Putt putt touring in the geriatric lane. THAT is what I associate with Vettes (now). In the 60's men who wrenched mostly owned them, flogged them, and modified them. Not the same now. They should give free packs of Depends with every Vette purchase

I look back at all the $3500 for sale 60's Vettes I could have bought in the early 70's.....

Only a little over an hour to go before it's gone. If it sells for $35k, that's a lot of car for that.

I am no Ebay expert (never took the Video Professor up on his DVD!), but why would the same bidder make repeated offers w/o any competing bidders? Shilling perhaps? The current bidder has made 4 bids against himself.

Because there is a "Reserve" price set on the car by the Owner. If your first bid is shy of the owner's reserve price, you get a prompt reading "Reserve not met"..or more simply. Bid again but higher this time. This process will repeat itself until someone's bid hits the "reserve" price.
