I love that question because it makes me give some serious thought. There's so many, that I can't even begin, unless I break it into categories. Then it still is imperfect and incomplete. Nonetheless, here it goes.
Rock: Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, Mark Knophler, and Keith Richards.
Electric Blues: T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, Albert King, Otis Rush, and Freddie King
Acoustic Blues: Robert Johnson, Blind Blake, Skip James, Charley Jorden, and Snooks Eaglin
Jazz: Charlie Christian, Wes Montegomery, Grant Green, Kenny Burrell, and Jim Hall
Country/Bluegrass: Merle Travis, Jimmy Bryant, Albert Lee,Tony Rice, and Clarence White
Heavy Metal/Hard Rock: Jimmy Page, Robin Trower (maybe wrong category) Michael Schenker, Eddie Van Halen, and Randy Rhoads

John McLaughlin
Jimmy Herring
Robert Fripp
Jimi

Steve Howe
Phil Manzanera

Chris Eldridge

If you don't know who Chris Eldridge is you better go get one of those Punch Brothers Records or one of the live shows he played with Uncle Earl last summer or sitting in with his Dad's band "The Seldom Scene"

dig it!

Eric Clapton
Duane Allman

I can't really choose between the two

And the, AT THE MOMENT, in no order:

Davy Knowles
Derek Trucks (because his slide is so sublime, I'm more coming to realize that I'm just not a huge fan of his fretted playing, but since slide is what makes me tick, here he sits)
Peter Green
