When I google this site, and enter via www.allmanbrothersband.com , it redirects to some virus scam telling you your computer is at risk, blahblah. But when I enter the site via the Tour Dates link for example, all is well.

Odd. My bookmark works, I think, but also I just type www.allmanbrothersband.com into the browser window and get here that way.

That doesn't sound like a hack, it sounds like malware or a virus on your computer. Clear your cookies, run your antivirus program, (or get a free one from MalwareBytes if you don't have one) and I expect that will take care of it.

Agreed. I run malewarebytes and microsoft security essentials - they each seem to find different bugs

I had a similar problem with espn.com. I kept seeing a different screen with a pseudo-espn for a few seconds. If I hadn't de bugged the virus would have continued to get worse

Yes, when I type the URL into the browser everything is fine, just like you all say, and just like all of your bookmarks do. This is a thing within the google search result itself.

This is from the net.

"This is an issue that is related to the website you are trying to visit. The below link describes the hack:

http://www.question-defense.com/2011/01/08/finditnow-osa-pl-hack-google-sea rch-results-redirect-to-finditnow-osa-pl-instead-of-correct-site

To be clear on this: do not worry, your computer has not been compromised. The server on which the website is running has been, though. "

Definitely run your antivirus, then run malwarebytes.

Might be a good idea to run Rkill first, then run Malwarebytes, as described here;

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic308364.html

(run Malewarebytes in normal mode, it can be run in safe mode if necessary, but it's not as effective)

Here's a guide if Malwarebytes won't run. & how to use Malwarebytes.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/how-to-use-malwarebytes-anti- malware-tutorial#troubleshoot

You should also run Superantispyware in safe mode.

http://www.superantispyware.com/?rid=3324

Here's how to boot into safe mode.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-windows-in-safe-mode /

All the above won't catch everything, but it's a good start.

BTW it takes a long time for superantispyware to scan. All night possibly. Be patient.

Also might be a good idea to install NoScript add on for Firefox. It's a pain in the arse, but might save your PC.

You can also scan your PC using Eset on-line scanner.
(disable your antivirus before running Eset)

http://go.eset.com/us/online-scanner

Good luck, hope nobody is infected too badly.

anyways run a system restore and usually that fixes everything

I get the same thing when Googling "hittin the web". Scary looking screen telling me that I have been violated. I feel so scared and traumatized. Used, even.

If it's a redirect virus, a system restore probably won't do much. It's possible that it is caused by a rootkit infection.
Rootkits are not easily removed, and prevent malware scanners from detecting other malware that might be infecting your PC. I'm not up on all the new varients infecting PC's.
A smart person would create an account with Bleepingcomputer go to "am I infected, what do I do" forum, and ask the experts. (links are above for bleepingcomputer)

Good luck
Mark

As indicated in the post above (and all the info I can find about
that re-direct) this seems to be a problem with the website itself and not your
individual PCs. Not that it's a bad idea to run virus scan or malware removal
tools, but I don't think that will fix this.
