Chick Corea’s 70th: Return to Forever, Herbie Hancock, Bobby McFerrin and More

Chick Corea will celebrate his 70th birthday with a month-long residency at New York’s Blue Note. Corea will perform in 10 different configurations, including Return to Forever unplugged, the Chick Corea/Herbie Hancock duo and as part of a the Five Peace band featuring John McLaughlin, John Patitucci, Kenny Garrett and Brian Blade. The shows will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of Corea’s arrival in New York City. In total, Corea will perform with over 30 musicians throughout his November run.

Wow. Should be some fine fine music coming out of the Blue Note next month. Would love to be in NYC for some of this.

Love Chick and Gary Burton's take on this Bill Evans classic and this Youtube portrays NYC so beautifully...

It's nice to see the Five Peace Band reunited for this event.
I just loved that album by them.
