I don't know that it would split the left vote.

More likely a unifying factor for the left side.

Actually, I know more Republicans than Democrats that don't care for Ron Paul, by a large margin.

Here in KC we have a conservative radio station that bags on Ron Paul every chance they get.

Why did you include Palin in this scenario?

I would definitely consider Ron Paul, but not with her attached. It's such a silly notion to begin with though.

Um, deregulation is what got us into this mess.

The fair housing act (homes for everyone even if you can't afford them)
Repeal of Glass-steagal
Repeal of the uptick rule
Fair trade act (sends jobs overseas)
etc, etc, etc.

Wallstreet is simply a symptom of the problem, fix DC and you will find the cure.

Here in KC we have a conservative radio station that bags on Ron Paul every chance they get.

Really? Not surprising when they work for the machine. Ron is clearly not in the club and the BEST candidate for President on either side. Plus, what do they do when they are afraid of a candidate? They attack him. Ron does not do much attacking.

Choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil. Take your country back and don't vote for anyone that works for the machine. This is going to be our last chance to take our country back. I am not even sure electing Ron Paul will be enough, and if he wins, they will just do to him what they did to Lincoln and Kennedy.

Put that post back up, JPB. Do you want to have conversations with people or not?

I was just getting ready to reply to your statement about the local conservative radio station here being a "part of the machine." Actually, the drive time guys have been on for years, one of them for decades. Locals. If being a cynical, smug, cranky, myopic Midwestern old guy makes you a part of the machine, then my part of the world must be quite the well-oiled operation.

Sarah Palin and Ron Paul have nothing in common. Ron Paul is the "Real Deal". Sarah Palin is George W. Bush with "a pair of tits".

Any ticket where a no nothing political phony like Palin would be one heartbeat away from becoming President is completely unacceptable!!!!! If you still consider her a worthy candidate then you must not care much what happens to this country. I hope there are very few who think this way.

They would never get along. Paul doesn't seem to think that the middle East is much of a threat, nor is terrorism. He wants us to bury our heads in the sand and pretend we don't need a military.

Now this would be a ticket I could endorse. Of course your Palin haters will jump all over this, but you wouldn't have voted for Ron Paul anyway? Right.

I would love to see this as an independent ticket.

This would split the left and the right vote and give the Presidency back to the people.

Take your country back!

Barack Obama thanks for your vote......a sure way to get him re-elected but the Republicans seem hell bent on getting that done even thought they all stand shoulder to shoulder exclaiming just the opposite....

The right's only chance to steal the white house back told everyone last week he's not running.....sounds like he's endorsing Barack Obama too.... no matter who he claims he will endorse....

Don't need a military or just one that's actually for defense and not gargantuan in scale and offensive in nature? There is a difference after all. Which one does Mr. Paul favor?

Ron Paul is not against America having a strong, first-class military to be able to defend America. What Ron IS AGAINST is the American military being used as a force to expand the American empire (and most recently, having "protecting America from "terrorism"' as the excuse in doing so). Personally, I don't think "terrorism" would be much of threat if the "Empire" wasn't on such a mission to try to make the rest of the world conform to it's desires.

Well, you get a C+....Sarah Palin is exactly why I could not and would not vote for John McCain in '08. Love Ron Paul, But I refuse to waste my vote on anything related to Sarah Palin.

I have to say that I know a lot of people at the time who didn't like Obama, voted for him anyway, just so Palin wouldn't win. And even now a lot of those people would do the same.

Exactly my point and I agree about the blow back (i.e.terrorism) our Empire creates. Sadly, the complex always paints anyone who questions its largess as anti-military when it fact we're merely pointing out the obvious problems it constant expansion causes.

BINGO!

Palin's presence on the ticket removed any doubt as to who I was voting for.
My wife and I actually registered to vote in the Republican primary of 2000 to vote for McCain over Bush. I respected him greatly, both for his service in Vietnam and his independence politically, working with whoever would get things done. There's a theory that Sarah was forced on McCain in order to sabotage his chances. I do really have a hard time accepting that McCain would have picked such a neophyte going into what was going to be a historic election. She obviously wasn't vetted very well; she looked good (literally and figuratively) at first, but the case can be made that she cost him the election.

I do like some of Ron Paul's platform; but if he ran with Palin he wouldn't get my vote.
