Just spent a wonderful couple of weeks in California. My fiancee and myself travelled over from the U.K. for a friends wedding in Marina Del Rey, then spent a week driving around Southern Cal. We stayed in Santa Barbara, Santa Clarita and Encinitas which we both loved but our favourite place we visited was the Joshua Tree N.P. along with the Pioneertown Motel and Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace.
Wonderful scenery, and the motel was fantastic. Could have been really cheesy wild west chic, but we thought it was really well done, Nice room and a fine place to relax.
Pappy and Harriets is my new favourite bar ever! Just wondering if anyone else has been up there. Cool venue for bands and they've had a few "names" over the years. Great food done outside on the barbecue also.

The excellent Alana Amram eith her band The Rough Gems.

Loved my Mustang rental!

Anyone have any idea what kind of snake that might be? What a fantastic trip that was!

Last four or five photos didn't come through...just red "x"es.

I'm almost ashamed to say that I've lived my entire life in So Cal, but have never been to Joshua Tree NP. The photo of the band at Pappy & Harriet's looks like many places I've played in my own bands, but I've never played there.

Ok, that's it...time for a road trip!
