Either:

The Capricorn Rythm Section (basically the "Laid Back" band. (Maybe get a Queen of Hearts with Gregg?); or

Wet Willie - they're still out there and they still RAWK! Good nostalgia tour!

ABB tour next summer ... I guess we can all dream.

How about alternating DTB and Government Mule?

MY vote would be--NOBODY!

An evening with the Allman Brothers Band would be the best...

I think Railroad Earth would be a good fit, both musically and in the size of their audience.

They have a pretty good following, especially in the Northeast, and could be reasonably expected to bring some people to the shows who wouldn't go otherwise. On the other hand, they are definitely not a bigger draw than the ABB, and by opening for the Allmans they could possibly gain some new fans.

I don't think Panic is planning on touring next year, or I would be down with that. The non-Deadheads would scream, but I wouldn't mind an ABB/Furthur tour with alternating headliners.

Bonnie Raitt, who seems a natural fit, and might bring in more women.

I'm down w/ Wet Wille too. And what is Elvin Bishop up to these days?

From a rational, business perspective, and not my tastes, ZZ Top.

The ABB just can't draw like they used too. I would think they would need an act on par with them that would draw a similar, but different audience. I LOVED the WP shows with the ABB and that really makes the most sense.

How about the Black Keys? LOL. Butch would never allow it.

But really I wouldn't mind Peter Frampton.

New Mastersounds would be a cool opener but I think he meant North Mississippi Allstars

Warren Haynes Band and Tedeschi Trucks Band alternating would be the obvious choice to me. Less support and production costs. Easier management negotiations and more money for all involved.
