Disturbing to ears & eyes (& yes the keytar is dusted off )

Some nice dual leads from Dickey & Dan though.

Might try it tomorrow but it's a bit late for the keytar. Maybe tomorrow, after some Tennessee sippin' whiskey.

Saw this line-up at Seton Hall University's Walsh Auditorium NJ
around the same time (does anyone have any info on the Seton Hall date??)
Not the best line-up to see the Brothers but as a 13 year old kid
i thought they rocked, (although i remember thinking the Keytar looked stupid....lol)

We all did.

It wouldnt have been so bad if Lawler had just sat down and played. We were all perftecly fine with Chuck...and Chuck got pretty far out there on the keys sometimes.

But when Mike got the keytar thing out, it was just sooo DISCO!!!

And you DO NOT play synthisizer on a BLUES SONG!!!!! (One Way Out)

When I saw the band with Lawler it was him taking the Duane solo in WP that got me....I was ready to walk out of the show at that point. Seeing them the year before on the enlightened rouges tour they were over the top good then one year later they have the keytar....ughhh...a bad time for the band to say the least.....

Were they playing that fast because the coke dealer had just come and set them up or because he had just arrived backstage and was waving the baggies at them?

Maybe both.

This is purported to be the last show they did until 1986 when the GAB and DBB starting playing some ABB "reunion" shows together. It wasn't until 1989 that they truly reformed as a band. It seems taking a few years off and then hitting the reset button was the right thing to do!

Toler does sound great on this.

The ABB must have gathered for at least a weekend at some point in the month's after this because there is a photo of this lineup w/Chuck Leavell (minus Lawler) on the cover of the album, Legendary Hits. They are sitting at the base of a huge Florida tree. I guess they got together to play and see if they wanted to continue but folded instead (this was around the time of Sea Level's demise and Chuck's first appearance with the Stones).

Instead, Gregg then went on the road with a strong Gregg Allman Band and Betts, Leavell, Trucks, and Goldflies started performing with BHLT, which honestly sounded better than the Allman Brothers at this time.
