This show was absolutely amazing. The amount of talent in this band is awe-inspiring and there simply is NOT a band anything like this going today. The horn section brings a crazy energy to the band and could fit right in with King Curtis. Oteil and Kofi's rapport with each other is amazing, they were all clearly having a blast. Having 2 amazing singers who it would be an insult to just refer to them as "back-up" singers because they performed such classics so beautifully, in addition to TTB originals. Here's my attempt at trying to nail down this setlist. If anyone knows better, please edit:

Don't Let Me Slide
Space Captain (Joe Cocker)
Until You Remember
Coming Home
Little Martha/Midnight in Harlem
Learn How to Love
Shelter
Anyday (Derek and the Dominoes)
That Did It (Bobby Blue Bland)
Uptight (Stevie Wonder)/Higher (Sly and the Family Stone)
Bound for Glory/Trombone solo followed by the trombone player belting out Nat King Cole's Tenderly, seemingly out of nowhere. Derek and Susan were caught off guard, because I dont think they were expecting him to sing. His voice is incredible.
Encore:
Night Time is the Right Time (Ray Charles)
Love Has Got Something Else to Say

I'm having trouble remembering where to place the solos, as far as which songs they belong in. Oteil did a solo/scat. The drummers had a couple of solos. Sax player, trumpet player all had their time to shine.

I concur with Ray and Greg!!! Amazing show! Loved them at the Highline but you can see the chemistry growing. They really had the Beacon rocking. Every time people would sit down it would only be a matter of minutes before Derek or someone else jamming got everyone back up and grooving!!! Can't wait for the Tilles Center show in a month!!!

Yes, Yes, Yes! What an incredible show!
There was great interplay all around. Agree with all the comments.

There was even a very touching 9/11 moment when Susan announced that the song "Shelter" is a prayer and about how we all need to support one another.

Well done TTB. So happy to see Derek really bringing it with this band too.
So glad this was taped. I don't do torrents but will be looking for this one!

Great to see Mr. Hastings and his better half for dinner before the show as well. Love u guys and safe trip home.

Sweet recording!

I'm listening to it now but pausing to watch Paul Simon singing 'Sounds of Silence' at the 911 Memorial.

Never Forget

This was an amazing show. I saw the band at the Highline in April and it was very good, but this was on an entirely different level. I got the sense from some of the recent reviews that this band has made a big jump, and hearing them last night, I can see they have. A couple of minor fixes to the setlist here:

Don't Let Me Slide
Space Captain
Until You Remember
Coming Home
Little Martha>Midnight in Harlem
Learn How To Love
Shelter
Anyday (with keyboard and bass solos, Blue Sky and Mountain Jam quotes)
That Did It
Uptight >
Drums/Bass/Piano >
Drum Solo
Amazing Grace>
Bound For Glory
Sing A Simple Song >
I Want to Take You Higher

Encore:
(Night Time Is) The Right Time
Love Has Something Else to Say > Tenderly > Love Has Something Else to Say

Scrapomatic sound GOOD!

Good to see talent like Mike not being wasted to just singing spots and backup in the TTB.
He's too good not to be fronting his own band.

I knew I heard the Mountain Jam tease which Derek just shredded last night during Anyday. Thanks for your post Marley! Fantastic show! And I love Scrapomatic too. Saw them (as a trio w/o bass/drums) at the Blue Note 8/8 and got to meet Mike and Paul and have my cd booklets signed between shows and got a great pic of me and Mike which Paul snapped!

I thought that was Amazing Grace. LOL. Great show. Great vibe. There was a much better pace to this show than the Tower. I totally dug that a lot of people got up to move around for the show. I knew I wasn't watching some TV program. LOL. I really loved this show and will download the torrent for sure. I see the info was posted for Zman's tape of the show but here's the link - http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=548256

And here's Scrapomatic's show. http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=548264

I dug Mike's band a LOT. How completely generous of him to give Midnight in Harlem to the TTB. I really dug Scrapomatic, much more than the first time I heard them a few years ago. Now I see what Derek sees in him. Took me a while but Mike's alright by me. His guitarist and bass player were very good also and I liked the whole band's sound. I like what Mike said from the stage a few times.

I just want to say God Bless to all the players on the stage last night from both bands. It made the 10th anniversary downright spiritual.

As far as I know it was written for the dTb. I saw them soundcheck it years ago, but they never played it live.

And yes, Scrapomatic was really good. I've seen them six or seven times now, but this was only the second time I've seen them with a full band - the other one was at Joe's Pub in, I think, April 2007. It was really fun and it helped them fill out their sound for the Beacon. I love the three-man lineup but maybe they should keep exploring this direction. The bassist was Ted Pecchio from Susan's band, and Tyler Greenwell from Susan/TTB was the drummer.

Another great night of music at The Beacon. Incredible to watch and listen to this 11 piece ensemble. When I saw them last summer in Peekskill I wasn't convinced that it was going to work. This collaboration of musicians is incredible.

Thanks so much for the show posting. It sounds terrific and really captures the show. The show was absolutely amazing! I have seen this band (or perhaps forms of it the making) a few times now, and this Beacon show was insane! Really enjoyed over the Highline show. It was much more of a Derek show since last time I saw them...which of course I love...but that's not to say it was imposing on the band in any way. Great balance all around. Half way through my wife leans over and says...and we are going to the Jersey show also! haha...awesome! Great show! Also…the crowd was great and full of energy. Everybody in our section was really nice and not uptight. People were dancing and having a fun time…not sure how you couldn’t. I hope they release a life album…but this recording is beautiful as well.

This was one of my favorites from Ridgefield on Friday night. with Mr. Jaimoe climbing behind the kit halfway through the song. He is behind Derek so you can't se him that well. This band is off the charts. Anyone know where I can find setlists?
