Imgburn, good freeware, rips any DVD's, unless copy protected.

download from softpedia:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/Data-CD-DVD-Burning/ImgBurn.shtml

gotta figure it out, but it's user friendly. I've been able to rip all music DVD's, no problem

This was posted many moons ago by Linnie XX and it's virtually idiot proof, I've used it and swear by it

For DVDs.......

Have a DVD Burner...internal or external.....if you've got an external, always remember to turn it on first.
If you have a burning program...keep it, you can install these and check them out....they're small.

1. Optional, and just damn good whether you do DVDs or not....Good and fast and easy to clean up your computer.
CC Cleaner (Crap Cleaner) Cleans up the computer and fixes your registry...I NEVER back up when it asks and I never have problems.
I'm suggesting this because i've found if your burning a lot of different DVDs at one sitting and you notice they're starting to take longer to burn, just close everything and run this and all will be well again.
Let it install where it wants to.
Open the program...top left is the cleaner...bottom right, click analyse, when done, on bottom right click run cleaner.
Run it twice or more until it doesn't find anything anymore.
Then click registry on top right...on bottom left, click scan for issues...when done click fix selected issues on bottom right.
Run again or more til nothing comes up...............I never back up and I love this program.
Here's the link.......
http://www.freewarefiles.com/CCleaner_program_14447.html< br />

2. If you've got a DVD disc you want to copy, you've got to get it on your Harddrive.
First make a new folder and name it where you want the DVD files to go (Go to where you want it....right click on empty space....put cursor on NEW to highlight and then click on Folder in the new box....Right click the new folder and click Rename....And then name it.)

Two ways to get it onto your hard drive.....DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter (or DVD Fab Decrypter)
I use DVD Shrink.......I'll only use Decrypter if there's a prolem with Shrink, which only happened to me once.
Both are great and will get the job done and they're FREE.
Here's the link for Shrink.......
http://www.freewarefiles.com/DVD-Shrink-V_program_13498.html< /a>

Here's the link for Decrypter......
http://www.freewarefiles.com/DVD-Decrypter_program_15586.html

Here's the link for Fab Decrypter........
http://www.onlyfreewares.com/Audio-Video/Cd-Dvd-Writing/DVDFa b-Decrypter.php

With DVD Decrypter and Fab Decrypter, put the DVD you want to copy in your player/burner and
click the little folder icon or browse to select the folder you made as the destination for your DVD files.......
And that's it.......Just wait.

For DVD Shrink, click on OPEN DISC at the top (if you've got more than one DVD player/burner, select the one you put the disc in)
A box opens and will analyse the disc...takes just a few minutes.
When it's done, click on Backup at the top.....a box opens...you want the "Select Backup Target" to read, Hard Disc Folder.
Then, for the "Select Target Folder", click on Browse and select the "New Folder you made and renamed"........
Then click OK and wait....8 to 20 minutes, depending on how big the DVD is.........That's it.........

A side note on Shrink....If you've got a DVD9 or Dual layer DVD, you can shrink it to fit on a DVD5 or normal DVD disc......But you'll lose some quality...Good for personal use...I wouldn't want to do it for trading purposes though.
If you pay for or know where to find for free...DVD FabDecrypter Platnium will split a DVD9 for you into 2 normal discs and the Menu will be on both discs with the chapter points.....it's just that the menu for the first part on the second disc won't do anything and vice versa, the menu will only work for the selections that are on the discs.

Now the Biggie........Burning a DVD......Couldn't get any eaiser.....or faster...........And remember....
I tried them all.

ImageBurn....or ImgBurn

Here's the link....
http://www.freewarefiles.com/ImgBurn_program_16872.html
This newest version is very easy and quick ( Remember what I said earlier, if you feel it's taking too long, close everything and run Crap Cleaner or if you don't have it...clear all your files and cookies.....just have a clean cache so your memory is as free as possible.....This happens to me when I'm burning 4 to 6 copies of 4 or 5 different DVDs in one sitting....Just gotta clean stuff up)
YOU SHOULD BE BURNING DVDs IN 8 to 15 minutes depending on how big the DVD is and if it has those elaborate sound and moving Menus.....they take up a bunch of room........
And I'm doing all this "Stuff" with a Pentium 4, with a 1.6 CPU and 768 MB of Ram
So if you have a faster computer, this will all go faster.

OK....ImageBurn................
Open it up.......You'll have a box with 6 choices.....Pick the top left one..."Write files/folders to disc"
A new box opens.......The first time you open....click on "Device" at the top right and set the "Write Speed" to "Auto/Max".......The program itself will determine the best, fastest and safe error free speed to burn.........
Always make sure it's set to this....Then set the folder back to Information ......Ain't technology Great..........
Now, on the right side of the blank fields to the left under "Source"...click the third icon "Folder Icon)
And select the file/foldeer where the DVD you want to burn is...you'll be highlighting the VTS folder or if there isn't one,
the program will ask you if want it anyway...SAY YES.
THOSE WHO WANT TO DOWNLOAD DVDs VIA TORRENT......THIS IS WHAT THE DOWNLOAD WILL GIVE YOU.....A VTS FOLDER OR THE VTS FILES IN A NORMAL FOLDER>>>>IT'S WHAT YOU WANT
TO BURN..............................OK.................................

Now that's it's loaded, you can click the calculator if you want...it just shows how much of the disc it will use.....
Make sure your burner(If you have more than one) is selected and DON"T HAVE CHECKS IN THE TEST MODE OR VERIFY BOXES.
Put a blank disc in your burner and when the program recognises it, the Folder>Disc Icons will highlight.....
Click the Icons and walk away for a bit................That's it
You can click on Tools at the top and choose Settings and under Device, set it to eject the tray and play sounds when it's finished burning.........That's your perogative.......

So....I hope this will be useful to someone out there.....I've literally used this method 5000 times..........
Only time I might have a problem will be with the top(First) disc of a new spindle...I get them by the 100 pack.

To summarize.......
You need the DVD files on your Hard Drive.....Then use ImgBurn to burn a disc..............

This will be my last post for awhile......I gotta disappear again.........Adios To Everyone.......................X

My question is that I found out when if you burn or down load a dvd if the size of it is say 700-900 mb it does not look good on a large screen tv. How do you correct it? I am kinda of an idiot when it comes to this, sorry.
