i know this may be a stupid question but...........
at the beacon on the big screen they sometimes show an old black and white clip of an african american band from around the 50's playing and singing...

could anyone tell me the name of them

It depends which one you saw. Big Mama Thornton is often shown as well as some other blues greats

I'm pretty sure old black and white "Howlin Wolf" videos are played each year at The Beacon.

Years ago they used to show a lot more of the blues legends like Muddy Waters and BB King....on a similar note, I used to love when they played "No One to Run With" they showed legends who passed away on the screen, people like Stevie Ray, Jerry, and of course, Alan Woody, Berry and Duane.

I believe SonnynBoy Williamson is playing the harp,Willie Dixon on stand up bass,of course Muddy.
