I like this. Nothing worse than some idiots fighting. Its why I tend to avoid sporting events these days.

Has anyone seen the documentary on the Foo Fighters? I forget what it is called, but I saw it on Palladia the other night. Pretty interesting stuff. Dave Grohl was asked to tour with Tom Petty as his drummer and he turned him down. He says he couldn't believe he was turning down Tom Petty, who is one of his idols. Dave was essentially out of the music business at the time. He says he can still see his hand putting down the receiver, and him thinking, "what the F did I just do? I am out of the music business, and have some demo tape I just made, and I turned down Tom Petty." The rest, as they say, is history.

He also talks about how he took a lot of sht from critics saying he was just doing the same music as Nirvana, i.e. heavy guitars, drums etc. His reaction is great, "uh yeah, that's what I do. What would you like me to do?"

Good for him. I have seen a few acts do that type of thing when things get out of control. Agree with him completely.

I like Grohl and prefer the Foo Fighters to Nirvana. Glad he didn't join Petty. He has come up with some decent songs. Not something I play often but for that style of music I will take it over most. The shows are real good also. Always pretty short but good.

The docu. is called "Back & Forth" & it's excellent.I saw it right before it came out on Palladia then bought it when it was released.Grohl is one of my fav. drummers...hate it that he doesn't play them all the time anymore. He did great work w/Queens of The Stone Age on drums a while back...but,he's a damn good "Front" man on guitar as well...one talented cat for sure...
