Dave, if you miss him, then I miss him too. Thinking about both you and Bill and his family on this day.

Awww............i sure do miss Bill, too! Had a bizarre, long and complicated dream about him last night. VERY strange and I had (gasp) not even remembered that it was this sad anniversary, either.

Love and miss you, Bill. You were a wonderful, sweet and very special man!

Dreams like those blow my mind.

All our fond memories of Bill and the connections we've all had as groups... amazing and special.

I was at Bill's tree at Rosehill today after eating at the H&H, everything looked peaceful.

Took a picture of Bluedad awhile back strumming his guitar sitting in the crook of a tree when Bill's tree was planted

The tree to Momma Louise and Momma Hill also looked well ; I recall walking Momma Hill from her car up to their seats of honor at that exact spot years ago. Heather's tree looks great also....

Earlier at the H Momma L looked great and greeted me with her usual " Hello, Darling".

Macon was peaceful.

Man, I need a road trip to Macon bad. Planning for a late summer trip as of this day, but a week or so down there would do me good.

Next year I plan to combine a trip to Macon with Wanee ... been wanting to do that for a long while now ... so I will finally get to pay my respects to all at Rosehill ... and get to eat at the famous H&H too ...

Three years have gone so quickly. Have a new refrigerator but his picture at Wanee in 2006 was transferred from the old clunker to the new one. His smile is always in my heart and in my kitchen. He was a special friend who helped me get sober, loved me and we shared many special times.
I am very grateful to have had Bill in my life. Joe Bell introduced me to his wife not too long ago as "a good friend of Bill's". What a compliment. He was a very special friend.
Let's not forget his kitty, Marley, who Hophead had been lovingly caring for (you have NO idea) since Bill's passing.
Remember, Ron, when it's Marley's time it won't be too sad. Bill is waiting for him.
Bill Ector, forever in my heart.

I was thinking last week about what would things be like if Bill was still among us, healthy.
All we can do is speculate. And be thankful for the time we had with him.

I only knew Bill the final 6-7 years of his life and not intimately. He did make me feel like we were long lost buddies the first (and second, and third....) time we ever met in person.

You couldn't get Bill to say something negative about someone behind their back even if you queued up the most well known underhanded person you both knew. He just wasn't going to participate in character assassination of even the most dubious characters!

His memorial service at Marietta HS is still one of the most moving events I've ever experienced. It was a full house of the most wide variety of people you'll likely ever see at a funeral service. Bill demonstrated humility like no one I know for a guy who had civic leaders, school teachers & coaches, famous musicians and a long list of lifelong friends at his memorial....and not just there, but people wanting to speak about him. He was committed to some causes (school volunteer) that he didn't brag about but meant a lot to many who were there to show their appreciation.

The way he treated his ex and her family, and his children (as I only realized in full when it was talked about at his wake & funeral) has been a model for me as a single Dad.

Bill made everyone feel like they were important (and laughed at your jokes). Plenty of you knew him better and longer than me, but I'm sure grateful for what I learned from him.

RIP Bill. Only met him one time at JFD a few years back and he was as described by all of you who knew him well. One highlight was Bill introducing his good friend Jack Pearson on Friday night which we have on cd. Bill got a big kick out of the fact that I thought 55-60 * F in Oct. was more than suitable for shorts and a t shirt.

It couldn't be said any better. I only meet Bill in 2006 at the HTW family band shows. He was someone who made you feel like he knew you forever and was always your best friend. I could have learned a lot about how to live life from that man. I'm blessed to have had those 2 days and I'll always hold close to my heart the short time I had with him
