I've seen it all now!

What in the hell is Warren thinking??? Kid Rock is a joke and so is Coors Light.

Govít Mule will pick up the pace again at the end of January via a series of Kid Rock opening gigs. The Mule will join the Kid Rock tour beginning January 29 in Toledo, OH and continue through February 14 at the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC. In addition, Govít Mule will perform a number of headlining dates prior to the tour and on the off-days, with the first of these at The Vogue in Indianapolis, IN on January 27. Govít Mule closes out the year with a three night stand at New Yorkís Beacon Theater on December 29-31, the site of a Kid Rock guest appearance with the Mule on 4/17/02.

Kid Rock is trying to change his persona and musical direction. Critics say his latest release is more rock than rap. From what I have heard, its still rap-rock to me. His songs are still laced with profanity. The RIAA dosent put the parental adviseries on his cds for nothing. He dosent belong on the same bill as The Mule. The Mule crowd aint gonna put up with no **** from the rap-mosh pit juveniles. Someone might get hurt at these gigs.....and it aint gonna be The Mule Team! Bad idea.

Peace,
Stan

Looks bogus to me. Looked for info of any type on both Mule's and the other artist's websites and neither makes any mention of anything of the kind.

Yeah, I saw that too. How did Jambands have info that neither of the concerned artists aren't posting?

Just because you don't like it....... Sorry but too bad.....

It is what is good for The MULE......

If they can play in front of 8,000 - 12,000 people per night instead of 1500..... What a prize..... The goal: sell more CDs & turn on more people to your music........

If they turn on people by playing with bigger Artists, that is the goal.....

Time only tells if pairings work or not......

Making a comment like that makes me think that you are a plain ass....

Last time I checked KID ROCK was still rock.... They are doing 6-8 shows with him, that's it..... If you don't like the bill, don't go..........

As for the Red Rocks show, I am sure that it was a festival..... They would have played on a different stage and at a different time....

Europe has these all the time......

The only complaint I have about the whole thing is that Kid Rock should be opening for the Mule, not the other way around. I think it's great that all the Kid Rock fans will get a little taste of Warren. I mean lets face it, most Kid Rock fans don't know anything outside the mainstream scene, so they're used to garbage. Let Warren show them what they've been missing.

There are a lot of bands that I got into because they opened for a band that I liked.
If some KR fans get turned on to Mule they will stay and the ranks grow.
That's the idea.

If ya don't wanna stay for Kid Rock, ya don't have to.

Maybe you'll get to meet Pamela.

Peace
John

I think this is the show that already happened last summer. I would not go because of the other bands. It was also sponsored by Coors Lite. And as far as there being other stages at Red Rocks, I have seen them put a small stage in the upper, upper parking lot(handicapped and limos) during the ABB Nascar tour and another time saw a stage in the upper concession area where only a few could watch, but there is no real place to put another stage like some summer festivals.

Billy, thank God someone is making sense in this thread. This will be nothing but good for The Mule. About 30 years ago, fans of music weren't so separated. Do you think that people would have bitched and moaned about The Allmans and Sly & the Family Stone being on the same bill?

You know, I used to be very down on Kid Rock myself. Hell, he's an easy target, one of these white-boy rap-rock goofballs who wears funny clothes, right?

Then I saw him on Total Request Live (explanation forthcoming) and I was really impressed with the guy. He had an acoustic guitar and was playing all sorts of different songs in a very fluent way. Carson Daly would mention a song or an artist and Kid Rock would pick up his guitar and say "Yeah, I know that one" and start playing it. He seems like a fun-loving guy who really loves music and likes to party. If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right!

Now, for the explanation. My wife LOVES Kid Rock, and that's why we were watching the show. She also LOVES Warren, so this double bill will make her weak in the knees!

i was a bit taken a back when i heard this announcement as well. let me preface my opinion by saying i really dislike whole rap/rock genre.

that said, i have seen kid rock 2 times and was impressed with his shows. the first time was kid and his band. the show had dancing girls, joe-c, and mucho pyro-techniques. it was a high-energy, overly produced show and it was fun to watch.

the second time i saw him was at farm-aid two years ago in pittsburgh and he was a bit more laid back, but was entertaining just the same. he is very influenced by classic and country rock alike. he seems to know his roots and isn't afraid to play these songs on stage.

although i would rather see mule by themselves, seeing them with kid rock should be a very entertaining experience. i bet he brings warren on stage and they will do something unique together.

i keep waiting for him to come up with anything else of his that is original. the past few performances i've seen him do have been rehashed classics. that is getting old to me!

agreed, agreed. i'm just saying that's this pairing isn't so goofy as people are making it out to be.
