Been thinking of college football lately especially since this is the first year of teams playing in new conferences. This led to me thinking about the Big 12 and how they might of got the best end of the deal while losing teams but now they get my favorite type of conference schedule one were everybody faces each other. Sure they lose the title game but that's not really that big of a deal.

That and fall practices will be starting up soon.

So what are your thoughts about the upcoming season?

I love college football. Here's one rag's preseason rankings .. http://www.athlonsports.com/college-football/top-25
Auburn at 42? What a drop!
I'm excited about the Big 10 actually having a playoff this year. Hopefully Texas's greed doesn't bring down the rest of the Big 12.

"I don't know if I'm on the hot seat but I'm not sitting down much." Rick Neuheisel

"College football is a billion dollar industry." Urban Meyer when asked on ESPN about preventing problems like Jim Tressell's situation when Tressell recently resigned. The scary thing is it will probably be a two billion dollar industry in a few years with these mega TV contracts that conferences are getting now. Since the Pac12 got $3 bill, you know the SEC is going to want more sooner than later.

It's going to take a while to get used to Nebraska being in the Big 10 conference. The Nebraska - OU rivalry used to be one of the best.

I like that the CU Buffs are in the Pac12 now. I can make a trip to Boulder every two years.

If Alabama's QB can get it done, the Crimson Tide can go all the way. Supposedly their RB #3 is better than Ingram.

If Texas finishes 7-5 or worse, does Mac Brown retire?

Northwestern, Colorado and Alabama are my adopted teams. I think Pat Fitzgerald is one of the most under-rated coaches. I hope he always stays a Wildcat.

The bottom line in college football is QB and OL. If you have decent ones, you can win 8+ games.

GO BRUINS!

Agree on Texas as the Big 12 with 10 teams IMO got the best end of the realignment deal

Oregon Coach Chip Kelly is probably having some sleepless nights over his recruting mess in Texas.

I'm counting on hitting Oregon at Washington and maybe TCU at Boise this year.

Looking forward to kickoff with LSU at Oregon in Dallas. Going to be HUGE!!!!

DUCKS!!!!!

I guess they're anticipating Auburn having to give back last year's Championship Trophy at some point....LOL

Not having Wisconsin in the Top 20 is a JOKE. They beat the crap out Ohio State last year 31-18 (who shouldn't be in the Top 10) and Russel Wilson, who was NC State's QB last year and the best QB in the ACC, is on board this year as a grad student. They always have a HUGE line and great running backs.

I can't stand their coach - he is a major a$$hole but they are perennially underrated and will be in the Top 10 at the end of the season. And The Ohio State University (God, I hate that) won't be.

WOW ... what an opening game. LSU isn't afraid of opening the season tough. It maybe Oregon's toughest game of the year. LSU has to go to Alabama and West Virginia and Starksville (Miss St should be improved)

I wish more teams would open the season against better teams but the risk is to high if u have National Championship assperations though I think a teams focus should be on winning there conference

Hokies at #7 in athalon .

Sophomore QB Logan Thomas is the big question to me. But with an experienced O-line
expect to see a lot of David Wilson carrying the ball. and not much passing.

Defense has some questions at Linebacker, the secondary and the d-line are always good it seems.

Just saw that Ohio State vacated all of its wins from last year. Trying to appeal to the committee to not lay the hammer down on them.

In other news I dont know how I feel about Michigan yet this year all I can say is that the defense will be improved. Michigan State should be in the running for the Big 10 title. Wilsons transfer to Wisconsin is interesting but time will tell if he can adapt to there offense.

I think the show is too long at two hours but I do enjoy Chris, Kirk and Lee especially when they make their picks at the end. I also like it when Kirk's kids come on the set.

The main reason I watch GameDay is to read the signs in the crowd behind the anchor's desk. Some of the stuff people come up with is beyond hilarious.

Received Phil Steele's preview magazine today. He puts a ton of info into his yearly publication. He likes Alabama and Oklahoma playing for the championship but also predicts a 12 and 0 start for Va Tech going into the ACC title game.

I didn't realize BYU is now an Independent. These conferences are getting hard to follow. The MWC added Boise St but lost Utah and BYU. Next year they lose TCU and will only have seven teams. The WAC lost Boise St and next year may lose Nevada, Fresno St and Hawaii (which all may join the MWC) and add Texas St and Texas San Antonio. That sounds terrible.

Nice to see Michigan getting some recruits who decommitted from Ohio State got the building of a nice class for next signing period but what really matters is how the team performs this season. I think they can get 8 wins maybe 9

A little help from Bama fans would be great. I stated months ago I am looking at going to Vols Bama on Oct. 22nd and Talladega the following day.

Surfing for the worst tickets in the house still puts me at 175+ a seat. So far its mostly dealer seats on craiglist, etc.

Do I have a chance at getting a seat for say 125 to this game once the season starts up?
