Take a look at these 2 youtube clips. The first one has been voted the greatest British comedy sketch of all time. Then take a look at the second clip which is a sort of similar veined version of the first both feturing the great Ronnie Corbett. I appreciate some of you guys Stateside might not see the funny side of our humour but I thought I would post them anyway as a sort of Sunday livener.

Thanks for posting that, my family and I love Brit shows and Sunday usually has 'Are You Being Served?" and "Keeping Up Appearances" playing in our house. I recently started the NETFLIX streaming stuff so we can now watch every episode of "Black Adder" also.

Its strange when Americans 'don't get it'; especially since shows like 'Sanford and Son' are direct takes on well known BBC shows.

Long Live Benny Hill and Masterpiece Theatre!!!

"Fawlty Towers" was the best sitcom ever imho. Only 12 episodes

I also try & catch "Keeping Up Appearances" & "Are You Being Served" when they pop up on PBS.

Peep Show and That Mitchell And Webb Look are f---ing funny. I love those guys. Irreverent in the utmost. British comedy at its best.

Good, but my nominee for all-time best British comedy sketch has to be-
The Four Yorkshiremen
Original version:

Monty Python's version:

More recent version featuring among others, Eddie Izzard:

And the crew included Peter Sellers! John Lennon said the writing style in his books was greatly influenced by the Goons, who also influenced the Pythons and Cook & Moore, among other British comedy greats.

Oh, don't forget Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie(yes he's British!)- their show was just as insane!
