No "cute puppy" pics for all you old folks who remember wott happened way back when.

Derek decided he needs a dog, did some research, wants a boxer.

Found some folks a few miles away and today he selected this guy.

My suggestion was "Cassius", keeping the boxing theme without going all Ali on it.

He also thought a German nod might work due to the heritage of boxers.

The little guy comes home Friday, he will be 7 weeks old that day.

I knew a guy once who said Ralph is a good dog name. So when he came home drunk his neighbors wouldn't know if he was puking or calling his dog.

How about ... MAX ... after Max Schmelling ... the German former World Champion Heavyweight Boxer?

Has the German theme and the Boxer theme and yet retains a common US name ...

That's an excellent name, if I do say so myself. Couple of good names for the boxer would be "Karl" after Karl Mildenberger and "Max" after Max Schmeling, two of Germany's greatest heavyweight boxers.

That was my late father in law's name.

Probably ruffle some feathers if we went with it.

Had a friend who once had a white boxer he named Jerry Quarry. Everyone got a kick out of that. He looks like a Bacchus to me. My grandparents had a boxer when I was little so I've always had a soft spot in my heart for them. Good luck with your new family member!
