I am interested to see what your fav all time 2 bands are. Mine are very different from each other ABB and Black Sabbath-truly masters of their craft and would take anything new from these guys since Sabbath no longer exists and ABB are pretty much done except in march.

For me, I'd say AC/DC and Los Lonely Boys

ABB and The Band.

If we're counting one-off bands, I guess I'd sub Derek & the Dominos for The Band.

It's my next level of favorites, where it might get interesting. I am a huge fan of the rap that I grew up with, and certainly have these guys in my Top 10-20 of any genre of music:

Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, and early OutKast.

Very tough to narrow it down to just two, but the Allman Brothers would definitely be one.

The Meters and Santana would probably be fighting it out for #2.

Forgot about those damned Beatles. Why couldn't this poll be 3 bands?

Hell I will go with Govt Mule as they have covered all 3.

It's a given that the ABB and Gov't Mule are not included in this or I'd already be finished.

So.......Black Sabbath..

Rory Gallagher and his band

Subject to near constant change and endless self deliberation...

Hey spacemonkey, ARU is definitely on the short list, but they just weren't around long enough to create a catalog that can stand up to ABB, Santana, or The Meters.

Definitely one of the all-time greats, though. In their early 90s prime, they were my favorite band in the whole wide world, including the Dickey/Warren version of the ABB.

1.Allman Brothers Band

2. Led Zeppelin

(but has been occupied at different times by Rush, Van Morrison, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, variations of Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Pre-1982 Black Sabbath, Derek Trucks Band and others)

And if by choosing Clapton I was selecting all the bands he was in + my favorite 4-5 E.C. solo albums, then Eric would be my clear #2. I figured that's not the spirit of the question....

Again, this assumes I am not listening to the brothers and the offspring of Mule and DTB.
