thanks for all the videos!

love Plant & Band of Joy...

Buddy Miller is outrageously great, the singers are heavenly, the transition from electric to acoustic was awesome, the band is tight & Plant sounds great & superbly original...very much like the intensity of the album....

i love WHB's Man in Motion--great musicianship all around,so besides Ron Holloway i was wondering where the band from the album went--they can't be the same--i loved the live backup vocals, but the music seemed a bit off from the album, & i couldn't help but think it's gotta be a different(& weaker) band?

Can anyone clarify this?

much thanks & Sue,these clips are great & much appreciated....

getting greedy here, but anymore Plant & Band of Joy?

I guess Ivan Neville and George Porter Jr. have other musical responsibilities. I thought they would be included in the touring band. Hopefully the musicians Warren has added are capable replacements.

Ivan has Dumpstaphunk, and George Porter Jr. is supposed to be in Kreutzman's 7 Walkers, although he wasn't with them at Wanee....

The Funky Meters were playing in New Zealand and Australia last weekend, so no way George Porter was going to be there. I broke that news to many sad people at the HTN booth Dumpstaphunk played Wednesday at Wanee, but they were in Arkansas on Friday, so no Ivan either for Warren's set. The studio band may be one of those all-star groups that Warren was lucky to convene once, much less for a whole tour.

dadof2 have argued and debated many times on this website, but I'm happy to say that I agree with every word of his post on Robert Plant and the Band of Joy They were a definite highlight of Wanee for me and many others. I think Robert was pretty impressed by Wanee as well, he made several comments about the crowd and the beauty of the natural surroundings.

I wish you could have been there too, Michael. It was a delightful treat to see him in that setting on a perfectly beautiful day with a spectacular sunset in the background. He closed his set with a version of "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" that was so breathtaking I got choked up.

At one point you could really see in Robert's face that he realized he wasn't playing the Blockbuster Verizon Wireless Center in Suburb, USA. He seemed to really appreciate the park and how special the vibe was at Wanee. The crowd was very attentive for his set, and I think he was pleasantly surprsed to see a large festival crowd behaving in such a civilzed manner.

He also made a pot-related wisecrack along the lines of "It smells different here!"

LOL Rob, all the things you refer to about Plant are what I was going to write next. He loved our crowd and we loved him. He was full of smiles as were we and he gave us an incredible show. The entire band left me wanting more. I was amazed at them all. Just fine musicianship!

I only captured one other song from Plant. I was just watching, dancing and grooving down in front! I haven't searched to find the song title yet so if anyone knows it, please chime in...

As far as Warren's band goes, I loved their set too. Yes we did not have Ivan or George or Ruthie for that matter but Alfreda Gerald was a welcome surprise and was on Warren's solo record "Tales of Ordinary Madness" She was wonderful but was only there for that one show. I look at that as a very special treat because we may not have that happen again but at least I made a friend out of it. All of you who have plans to see the band in the coming months will love it, that I am sure of!

Sue,thanks for the added Plant song & the pics

WHB with the guys on the album is great...after listening,i feel a bit disappointed in the band Warren brought to Wanee(listened to the whole show yesterday)....i prefer the real deal musicians not the second string! LOL
