Just got this:

quote:
Webcasts are extremely expensive events to produce and bring to the viewer. Moogis uses the same equipment as a high definition television production in order to bring the highest possible production values to our subscribers.

Moogis priced subscriptions for the 2011 Beacon run and Wanee Festival so that we could webcast both events based on the assumption that we would have the same number of subscriptions as last year. Unfortunately, we fell 300 subscriptions short of the number necessary. As a result, we have to regretfully notify you that Moogis is not going to be able to webcast Wanee this year. We have explored every possibility to see if there was any way to make this happen but we have run out of options and time.

At the moment, Moogis is in a negative financial position. But once we get new funding, we will either refund the cost of Wanee to subscribers who want a refund or apply their Wanee payment to the next Moogis pay per view event.

For those who leave their payments with us, you will get a 20% discount on all future Moogis pay per view events.

We are very sorry that we have to do this, but we have no other choice at this time.

Glad Im goin but my family back home won't be!!

Is this even true??? How come no notice on the Moogis website??? If it is true and they are just notifying people two days before the event I think they are gonna lose a lot more subscribers next year.

What is the source of that info posted in the first post???

I find it odd that there is nothing on the site yet too. I got an email from moogis as I am sure all subscribers did. If its bogus, why would anyone do something like that?

being a past subscriber, I received the same e-mail a few minutes ago- I'm pretty sure it's for real. I feel bad for those of you who paid in advance and hope you are refunded at some point in the near future. I subscribed the 1st 2 years and enjoyed it but my daughters getting braces this year so I opted not to re-subscribe.

I don't think there will be a Moogis next year. Moogis is dead.

Is that email really saying they are not able to give you your money back when they are not providing a service that has been prepaid for? Remember people, call you credit card company and insist on charging it back if so.

RIP, Moogis. Too bad people will be left holding the bag. I think I'll grab me a parka and wait for the sh*t storm that's on the horizon.

So what, your take on this is the Dean managed to get Moogis email list and send emails to all past and present email subscribers and pulled this off? Really? Dean is that accomplished?

Moogis should tape the thing anyway, just not bradcast it, and sell it in DVD format- I'd be down for that as I'm sure many others would. kinda like the old Bonnarro DVD's with performances from all the groups. they could recoup some $ anyway.
Probably easier said than done I'm sure...

So they could not get enough subscribers to make it work but you think they will sell enough DVDs? Where is the logic in that?

We were going to go to Wanee but decided to save the money and do Moogis instead. I could have taken the vacation days but there is no way to plan such an excursion now. Thanks Butch, not only do I miss the ABB, but I could have been there live? Moogis has really been a disaster for the most part and I can't believe I got suckered into this for a 3rd straight year. Pathetic.

I guess I will just have to go with the FREE IClips shows. You know summer camp, Mountain Jam, and one other.

I say class action lawsuit (just kidding, but not really). WTF? At least give the people back their money for Wanee? I have heard of greedy, but this takes the cake.

F@CK BUTCH !!!

Butch has been asked what Moogis means and claimed it is what his son called music as a child. We now know the real meaning of Moogis is UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!

To cancel and drop it on customers two days before the event and then not even refund subscribers payments right away is as unprofessional as it gets. They should have streamed this event and taken the $$$$ loss on the chin like true professionals would. He could have folded the whole thing up afterwards but to string the customers along only to pull the plug so close to the event is just downright wrong. What a friggin' joke!!!! Those of you who subscribed should demand your $$$$$ back immediately IMO. So glad I decided not to subscribe this year.

RIP Moogis!!!

I couldn't spend $150 but I'd spend $25. I didn't say they would re-coup all of their money, just some. I have no idea what would go in to that though- I assume they would have equipment in place do film it as it's days away- but not sure how much cost would be involed w/ production etc. probably a dumb suggestion I guess.
