http://www.weather.com/outlook/weather-news/news/articles/timing-severe-wea ther-april-9-11_2011-04-08

Let's get into the timing of this 3-day episode of dangerous severe weather.

Saturday (Plains/Midwest)

> Supercell thunderstorms develop in eastern Neb., southeast S.D., northern and western Ia., and southern Minn. by evening. These storms will sweep into Minn., Wisc., and perhaps Lower Mich. overnight (large hail threat overnight).

> Another cluster of severe t-storms should erupt along the dryline in western Okla., northwest Texas through the evening. Additional strong storms may redevelop to the northeast overnight into southeast Neb. and western Ia.

> Main tornado threat: northwest Ia., southeast S.D., southern Minn., eastern Neb. Only an isolated tornado possible in western Okla. and northwest Texas.

Saturday (Ohio Valley/Southeast)

> Strong thunderstorms are expect to fire up along a frontal boundary stretching from the Ohio River southeastward to the Southeast Atlantic coast. This threat area includes Ky., Tenn., southwest Va., western N.C., S.C. and mainly north & east Ga.

> Storms will grow in intensity with daytime heating during the early afternoon and press south and east into central/eastern Ky., eastern Tenn., southwest Va., western N.C., Ga. and S.C. Severity of t-storms should diminish by sunset.

> Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats. Only isolated tornadoes expected

SUNDAY
> Severe thunderstorm/tornado outbreak!

> Tornadic supercells are forecast to focus over eastern Ia., northwest Ill., southeast Minn. and Wisc. Some tornadoes that do develop could be of EF3 intensity or greater. See TOR:CON

> Cities in peak tornado threat zone: Iowa City, IA | Waterloo, IA | Moline, IL | Dubuque, IA | Rochester, MN | La Crosse, WI | Madison, WI

> Elsewhere, by late afternoon/early evening, individual severe storms will fire up along a cold front stretching from Ill. southward into the eastern half of Texas. The higher tornado threat will occur the farther north you are.

> Eventually the individual storms will congeal into a very long squall line; transitioning from a tornado threat to a damaging wind threat Sunday night. This roughly 1200-mile line of severe thunderstorms will push east overnight from Lower Mich. into South Texas.

MONDAY - NY we're up!

Monday

> Severe weather marches east.

> Squall line of severe storms will be ongoing Monday morning from the Lower Great Lakes to the Louisiana Gulf Coast.

> Squall line sweeps east during the day reaching the New York City to Washington, D.C. corridor by late afternoon or early evening.

> The main threat with this line of storms will be damaging straight-line winds.

And Yes Folks, the 2011 Hurricane Forecasts are out.

http://www.weather.com/outlook/weather-news/news/articles/colorado-state-hu rricane-forecast_2011-04-06

Colorado State says 16 Storms, 9 Hurricanes, 5 Major ones and most are slated for the Gulf of Mexico region, S. Florida or Carolina/Georgia.

The ole Farmer's alamanac predicted one for NY between Labor Day weekend and 9/11. (Hey you know we always have more drama here than anyplace else).

Here's the weather reasons behind the forecasts.

Effin Weather Channel and their melodramatic bull$hit.

"Cities with the highest tornado threat" three days out.

The looks to be quite the potential for severe weather tonight, but the dry line keeps marching east at a really good clip. The more it moves east it changes the points of convection, pushing the points of severe weather development eastward.

I don't pay much attention to the weather channel....they never mention where we live....so I look outside....if the air is green and hail starts to fall, we stand in the hall. Otherwisie, it's just a rainstorm.

Things are firing, but the dry line was further east than anyone expected.

We might get some rain but it looks as if it's going to mostly be north of where we are.

He warns people before he destroys them completely. Tornadoes will get your attention, do doubt about it. Giving people time to think about their lives, pray and possibly repent.

So, after 60 years of in-depth tornado recording, how close to the Divine Total Destruction are we?

Rough night in my neighborhood last night! My mom lost power at her house - she's on oxygen, so we had to set up portable tanks. Trees down all over my neighborhood this morning! Had to drive through a maze to get to work. Looking at that map up there ^, I live right in the middle of one of those dark red patches! Since I already had a major tree-on-the house episode (4 years ago), I'm hoping I can check that one off the list!

No telling how much time remains, except that other prophecies have to be fulfilled first. (many wars). One of the more worrisome things is the effects of the Pole Shift when it happens and it WILL happen. The land will move, including mountains, rivers will overrun their banks and take out towns, villages reclaiming large swaths of land, the earth will quake, the nuclear reactor plants will crack, meltdown and contaminate the earth. There is a lot still to come. The dinosaurs never saw it coming, but they were sent to extinction.

By the way, gina, the Fujita Scale has changed. It is now called the Enhanced Fujita Scale, so the correct references are EF2 or EF3, etc.

It's one nasty day up here in North Alabama. We've had some helacious rain and lightening all day. No tornadoes spotted in our county but we're still under a watch.

As a redneck I'm still gonna gonna call em F2's, F3's, F4's and I'm sure people will know what I'm referring to.

I was born and raised and happily live in Tornado Alley. I am a NWS Certified Storm Spotter, have been on storm chases and when the sirens go off, I go outside.

While a tornado is the most destructive force in nature, the amount of damage caused by tornadoes as compared to hurricanes is smaller, simply because hurricanes are storms of such great size. People on the Gulf Coast, Florida Coast and Eastern Seaboard live with the threat of hurricanes. People in the Midwest, Corn Belt, Rust Belt and South live with the threat of tornadoes. People in California live with the threat of earthquakes and wildfires.

Gotta live somewhere.

Can't live in fear of things you cannot control. That's not living.

Don't know what "being a redneck" has to do with it. Every other subject of which you act as expert you are all over every minor detail. I'll bet if I made a mistake on interpretation of the Qu'ran you'd be all over it.

EF is the proper terminology as the Enhanced Fujita Scale has replaced the Fujita Scale. People should also keep in mind that predicting an actual number on the scale is nothing more than hypemongering. We're not even exactly sure how tornadoes work and why they do the things they do. It should also be noted that the EF Scale is a measurement officially determined well after a tornadic storm has ended based on the amount and type of damage caused. There is absolutely no way of predicting a number on the scale beforehand.

All that said, after a historic, tragic and fatal system of storms over the weekend, looks like we are looking at another outbreak over the next 48-72 hours.

Yeah but at least with hurricanes if you know it is coming, you can try to go someplace else, tornadoes just come and if it is at night, you are screwed. They can burst your ear drums and suck your eyeballs out of your head, yet people who live in areas where they occur just don't seem to worry much.

Even the people in North Dakota, the rivers keep rising, flooding them out, and they just go get sandbags and think they will be safe. One day they will drown and they are just not concerned. Their weather people even have different categories for flooding, minor, moderate, major. They don't seem to consider it major till houses are inundated.

241 tornadoes in three days and more to come.
