Jon still cannot do any major touring... in fact he probably never will be able to. Unfortunately.

I saw the current Yes a couple of years ago. I never thought that anybody else in the world had that magical, elfin voice. The new guy (Benoit David) sounds incredibly like Jon Anderson!

Styx ... I always had a hard time listening to these guys. Mainly, something about the original singer's voice. I think they're a great band, though. At the final City Stages Festival, I heard them briefly doing some deep Beatles covers ("I am the Walrus"). I think Tommy Shaw is a fine guitarist.

he's close but no cigar... not by a long shot... Jon is & will always be the voice of Yes for me... i saw them last year, the music was spot on, the vocals good but laking that special something.

Styx actually sounds pretty good. Musically Yes sounds incredible, the vocals, not so much. How can you replace Jon Anderson? That's tough. Really, I give the guy a B for effort. This one for me would really come down to ticket prices. I migh sit in the lawn if it is reasonable.

I see that Jon Anderson does have a few select tour dates? BB Kings in NYC for one. I am not sure, but I think he was sick and just can't do an extensive tour. Seems odd that he would be out on the road. I am sure there is more to the story?

Actually, he is touring quite extensively? So there must be more to it than just health?

Had a few beers with Jon Anderson at the Cleveland airport back in the mid-80's when both of our flights were delayed. Nice guy. Yes had played a show the night before and he was trying to get out of town. I was there on business, also trying to get out of town. I'll also pass on the Styx/Yes tour.

If you have not seen it you should check out Jon Anderson with the Cleveland Youth Orchestra taped last year and shown on HDNet. Simply an awesome show. The orchestra did a whole evening of YES / Jon Anderson songs. To see the sheer jubilation in the eyes of those kids while playing that stuff was very heartwarming (and sort of reminded me how crappy it was when I was young and playing in orchestras and all we played was classical. Sheesh).

Anyhow, one of the most amazing musical events I've seen in recent years (though Boz Scaggs at the Ryman last night was pretty good too.) And he did Loan Me A Dime as the first encore!!!!
