Excellent article. That's a great album.

Just reading Bobby Whitlock's bio. Good book, BW's a great storyteller.

Nice article. Thanks for sharing. Loved the clip from Johnny Cash show - you could tell EC was really enjoying the jam with Carl and Johnny.

Nothing very revelatory, but I do agree with the author, the song "Layla" is the most out of place tune on the album - everything else is laid back blues jam while "Layla" is a highly produced epic.

I wonder why the blues jams with Duane & co. aren't included on this latest edition - hard to call this release definitive without those.

I'm just wondering.

I have 2 versions of the Layla CD, 2 versions of the live album, and all the other Layla material included in the big box set. Considering all of that.....


Do I need this new one?
