Michael Leonard|04.01.2011Roger Waters has confirmed he is likely to be joined on stage by former Pink Floyd bandmate David Gilmour on his tour of The Wall – but only for one gig. Waters and Gilmour have had a fractious relationship for many years, but did play together in Pink Floyd at 2005’s Live 8 charity show. There now seems to be another chance to see them share a stage.

“I hear the rumors,” Waters says. “I think it’s beginning to look now as if he’ll do one gig, he’ll do “Comfortably Numb” at one gig. It’s a big secret when. Live 8 was the big one when Rick [Wright] was still alive – it was very moving."

Speaking to Sky News, Waters also rebuffed that he and Gilmour’s battle over Pink Floyd ever got over-serious. “We didn’t go to court – all that was crap – we never went near a court ever. When we split up, David and Nick [Mason, drums] ended up with the name and I ended up with The Wall and everything to do with it and a few quid.”

Waters predicts these could be his last big shows. “Constructing something like this indoors – I’ll probably never do anything this big again, the technology of projection we’ve used in this show is breathtaking.”

Waters’ European tour of The Wall starts today, April 1 in Milan, Italy.

OK - but if it hasn't happened yet, I won't hold my breath until it does.

on july 11 2010 gilmour and waters shared the stage for a charity event. shortly after via facebook it was confirmed they would share the stage again during waters THE WALL tour. so they already played together once last year. gilmour said it would probably be the european leg of the tour where he made his appearrance

I was so hoping it was going to happen at The Wall show I saw last fall but no such luck. But I believe that Gilmore will appear at one of the European dates and Comfortably Numb will be the song he sits in on. There is a youtube of the gig where Roger sat in with David - a charitable event - and David appearing at one of The Wall shows was part of the arrangement. And this tours performance of The Wall is indeed breathtaking.

Glad to hear this came to fruition and thrilled for all those who were on hand for this special occasion! This is such an amazing show ... Roger really did it right. But having that guitar on Comfortably Numb ... I think i would have probably been reduced to tears. There are more videos and some great pics starting to pop up on the web and word is this was filmed professionally - i know I'll be keeping my eyes peeled and ears open. (Cool that Nick Mason was there, also.) Interested to hear if any peaches were in attendance for this...

I laughed with a friend when it was first announced long ago that Gilmour would join him for Comfortably Numb. I said " so he is going to join him but be behind the Wall and will pop out on top for the solo. So people won't get to see most of the "reunion"."

Still cool.

Enough distance to keep them from creating a new storyline in the Wall concept.

To be honest, Waters guitarist already really nails the sound, Gilmour's style and the solo real well. Very cool to have Gilmour but can't really sound any different. In honesty, he stays closer to the original solos than Gilmour but that is understandable s he has been touring with Roger for a while now and goes for the note for note approach.

Still great too see them together but don't believe we will ever see a sustained reunion.

I will say that the guitar player Waters has is amazing. Obviously Gilmour is the man but that guy hs it down big time.

Agree completely. I love Gilmour and he created the guitar prts no doubt. But at the Waters show after Comfortably Numb, I turned to my buddy and said that Gilmour could do no better and if anything might sound sloppier due to not touring and playing the song a few times a week.

Still great to see them almost together on stage.

Same as it ever was ... that solo has always occurred from the top of the wall (when one was present) so don't know why it would have been done differently this time around. And it has not been billed as a 'reunion' but a one-time occurance to return a favor. And it was nice to see Nick Mason show up to be with the other 2 outside of the wall.

This is true ... he has always had remarkable guitarists supporting him and they've done a great job on this solo (one of my faves) and Dave Kilminster is killing this solo on this tour (and Doyle Bramhall II and Snowy White were amazing on the In The Flesh tour). But ... David Gilmour ... 'nuff said.

Yeah ... this was always mentioned as a one-of occurance. But it sure would have been nice to be in London last night...

Oh I knew he would be on top of the wall which is what made it comical to me when I first heard it would happen. Makes the concept of them sharing the stage funny plus everyone waits over a year to see it but he is behind the Wall.

Not against it in any way. Although seeing as everyone knows the guitarist is on top of the Wall, it might have been willd had he walked out from the side onto the stage just to make it different and even more special. By reunion, I meant both almost on the same stage.

Sucks they agree to something like this after Wright passed on.........kills the possibility of a WONDERFUL reunion.

Great moment, I am happy for anybody that got to be there.
I wish they could settle their differences and tour one last time... its what the world wants to see.

I doubt i could afford tickets to the show if they did tho!
