Traveling from Colorado I attended my first two Beacon shows last Mon (3/14) and Tu (3/15). So, for me, there were lots of highs (though less so than Red Rocks, if you are taking the double meaning there) but if I had to choose I'd note these:

* 3/14 Bill Evans - Spanish Key
* 3/14 Black Hearted Woman - the light show blew me completely away
* 3/14 Les Bres and JaMaBuBu
* 3/15 That's What Love Will Make You Do w/Robert Randolph on pedal steel
* 3/18 All things Sco!

All in all, getting on board the Beacon express has been one of the great musical moments of my life.

I would agree about the second set on the 14th which was off the charts!

I was there 3/12 & 3/18. Have seen a lot on MOOGIS. My thinking is a lot along your lines

3/14 _ Second set was the best set of the run. 3/12 first set was great, but having the surprise element removed drops it a bit and I think nostalgia added to the appreciation. The second set was uneven - was teased with EAP and then boom, gone.They were not as intense as 3/26/09 when they blew the roof off.

3/18 was probably the best all in all show. Scofield was unreal; Willie McTell was super. For me when Susan T comes on and adds to the show (I usually find her a distraction) I know I'm up to something. Still looking for survivors from MJ

3/21 was probably the second best all around show. Horns are great; Brecker greater. Have a hard time (except for IMOER) of finding a part greater than the whole. Just no weaknesses in the night

LEAST FAVORITE MOMENT - Donald Fagen ; justnot my cup of tea

of the 3 shows i was at the one with john schofield was the highlight. he and the band just ripped it apart on Liz Reed and Mountain Jam. I am not a music expert and had never heard of him before but he was fantastic and hung in there with Derek and Warren. Two great numbers. The rest of the show with Susan T, Dreams etc was amazing.

Spanish Key with Bill Evans was out of this world good, much better than the one with Brecker, although he is a great musician. Something special about the one with Bill Evans. As others have said, that whole second set on 3/14 seems to have some extra mojo on it.

I'll also say that I loved last night's sequence of High Cost Of Low Living, Kind Of Bird and Blind Willie McTell. It may get lost in the shuffle because it was in the middle of a first set on a Tuesday, but that was one of the best 3 song segments of the run so far.

I was at the March 14th show with three good friends. My friend Barry has been battling World Trade Center Related Cancers for a number of years now. He's been doing Chemo and Radiation due to his illnesses. We were worried that he might not be able to make it this year because of the side affects of his treatments. Barry's an unbelievably strong man and though he wasn't feeling well still came to the show. We did our normal Grey's Papaya visit and then walked to the theatre. We had a great night with a great guy. The show itself was stellar and Barry said that just coming to the show was therapy for him. It was good to see him enjoy himself and the music of the Allman Brothers.

We're all looking forward to next year.

Be safe.

Derek's solo on "High Cost of Low Livin'" on 3/15. I am normally not fond of that song. DT showed me the light!

My best moments are the two shows that I attend each year. We always go the second weekend and last weekend the 18th and 19th were both epic shows. John Scofield was fantastic Friday as was ST. Sat show was also incredible.

Watched all the rest on Moogis and haven't seen a bad one yet!

The interaction this year between all has been great and they all seem to be having a grand time!

I went on 3/17 and on 3/25, so my favorites were Down Along the Cove with Fagan, as well as Shakedown. Also, the Samething is one of my favorites, so having Chad Smith and the others sit in was great. I think the highlight of the shows I attended had to be Dreams to open the second set on 3-25. I can't stop thinking about it. They nailed it into the ground, especially Derek. I have never heard it played so well.

I loved hearing "Blue Sky" sandwiched into "Anyday." It gave me goosebumps to hear it. I would love to hear Warren sing it like he did with Further. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vruwul31twA&feature=related

I was at the show on the 14th, and like everyone said, that 2nd set was SMOKING. Sailin across the devils see was great too. Ending the first set with Revival was great. The Others One tease in Black Hearted Woman was really cool. As was the Mtn Jam tease in Rocking Horse. I also detected what I thought was a slight hint of Blue Sky in the Rocking Horse jam too. Not really the melody but the style that Derek was playing. And of course Devon Allman shredding One Way Out on the Gold Top was amazing as well. All in all the show was amazing, but that 2nd set rocked!
