has been done every night of this Beacon run. I think we are getting into overkill mode with the drums. Every now and then is fine, but is it needed every night?

That's like asking if Gregg is needed every night; it's part of what makes it an Allman Bros show. It's like getting a new song every night!

I don't quite think that's the same. Gregg has been there every night for decades, the JaBuMaOt section started off as on occasional thing then started getting done more often, now it seems it is every night.

Just not my cup of tea.

Agreed, drum solo's don't do it for me in general.
I do think however the guys have been doing the long drum solo at the end of the show for a long time now, at least pretty much every show with this current line up.
Just use it as a time to grab a drink or use the bathroom, thats what i typically do.

The drum section plays basically the same thing every night. Yes, there's some variation, but not enough to say it's like a new song every night. Since I play acoustic guitar along with the show while I'm watching Moogis, I've been making up guitar patterns to fit the rhythms during the drum section. It's actually a pretty good musical exercise so I'm not as bored with them as usual.

I've also taken to calling it BuBu JaMa.

I enjoyed it immensely some nights during this run, especially 11/3 and 18/3.

Other nights it seemed to me that they were doing cause they kind of had to and didn't really hit the note.

Not your average drum solo anyway

Well, I haven't listened to/watch every night yet bet the 3 nights I have watched, each drum solo was 4-6 minutes. It's shorter than most of the songs. (without the bass section)

And believe me, they used to be much longer.

As consistantly as the current band does them, it isn't actually as consistant as it used to be. And some of the drum sections used to be 10 minutes or longer. (without the bass section).

I do like them and I like when they do change them up (which they do) but they tend to stay fairly consistant for a couple of tours. But I like when they keep them shorter and throw them in a different place. Sometimes we'll find them much earlier in the show.
