I've sat orchestra the last two years at the Beacon/UP, but I'm thinking about buying loge this year. Would anyone recommend it one way or another? I will say I do like the "energy" of the orchestra seats, which I wonder if I will miss out on.

stay in orchestra loge is for folks who wish to listen to the music and not be disrupted by the noise and movement that goes on downstairs. unless you are in first 5 or 6 rows of orchestra t is usually pretty loud with many people drinking and socializing and not focusing on music.

that being said, each to his own IMO-this debate goes on every year.

Thanks - didn't mean to be beating a dead horse here - think Orchestra may be the way to go. I brought it up though b/c loge seats are currently available on TM for the Friday 3/25 show FYI!

Hey if you score back row in the Loge I would grab em! Can dance all you want back there.

Oh no, I thought just the balconys were for sitting, didn't realize Loge was too. I can't imagine going to an ABB show and not being able to stand up and move to the music. I have Loge row G tickets for Mon, 21st, so maybe someone on the back row will switch with me.

"Loge" is just a fancy name for "the 1st balcony".

Danced in the Orchestra on 3/11; had to sit in Loge on 3/12. Much better experience in the Orchestra. Can always sit for a song or two in Orchestra when necessary.

It just depends on your personal preference. Totally different experiences. If I were going to several shows I'd try to mix it up, but being an old-timer with a bad back and bad kness who likes to see and hear the band I prefer the loge. Actually one of the best times I ever had was in the very back of the upper balcony.

In loge row C you'll be expected to remain seated.

I usually am in the orchestra where I enjoy being close to the show but hate all the rude people who talk like nobody else is in the building or spill beer on me etc.....once in a while I sit in the loge when i went to rest my twice surgically operated on back and relax and simply listen to the music...I am in row B in the loge friday night and am looking forward to being seated for 3 hours of fantastic music!!!

I've done two nights in the orchestra and last night in the loge. Basically two different experiences--loge is all seated all the time; orchestra all standing all the time.

Sat at front of loge for Billy Gibbons show in 2009 run and I thought sound was considerably louder there than near front of balcony -- where we sat this past Thurs.

I like loud shows but at one point with about four lead guitars playing out Southbound my ears were just about melting at that 40th anniv. show.

I thought the sound was great in the balcony this year and it got better throughout the night... I thought I noticed a bit more bass and another notch of volume in the second set... that may be normal for all I know.

The mix from the Loge on Friday night was perfect.
