Just curious...Warren sat in with Phil and Bobby last night on the ABB's night off for a set, and tonight Phil and Bobby are off and the ABB is on tonight. Perhaps a set of material? or maybe just a appearance? Thoughts? Anecdotes? etc

After the Dead/ABB summit on 3/28/09, it certainly seems possible.

The Allman Brothers and the Dead have such a rich history together, and while some people in both camps prefer them separated, I love any time when these worlds collide.-

Franklin's would be an honest choice.......

Dead tunes are quirky but usually not hard to play.

The Mutha Load would be to have Phil come out and they play The Other One......no that would break some barriers........

Phil turns 71 tomorrow night too.

I certainly hope not. Bob Weir could suck the energy out of a melting down reactor. The mini Dead Set was the low point of the 2009 Beacon run for me. They seem to play at one-quarter speed.

Agreed. In '09 I fell asleep during I Know You Rider. Woke up just in time to see Warren take the song out with more energy than I've ever seen the big man show.

Hey - Isn't Bernard Shakey in town? I'd rather see him and the boys tear Powderfinger to bits.

Thanks for saying what I was thinking. I was at that show in 2009. The Bobby/Phil set never went anywhere and it seemed like it would never end. I don't want to go through that again.

See? I told you some people like to keep the ABB and Dead separate Now we just need some Dead fan to post about how overrated Warren is and how he "ruined" the Dead and we'll be all set.

In all seriousness, I like the idea of breaking out "The Other One." The ABB have been toying with it in "Black Hearted Woman" for years now, why not? "Dark Star" would be another Dead tune that would benefit from the ABB treatment, in my opinion.

"I Know You Rider" and "Sugaree" are not what I would call top shelf Dead tunes. Maybe that is part of the disappointment some fans felt with 3/28/09. Let's bust out some of the BIG Dead jams like "The Other One" or "Dark Star" and let the music play the band!

OK, Rob, I'm going to keep an open mind on this. But it better not suck!
