“Everybody at Atlantic Records during that time thought we were crazy," he continues. "They wanted us to get the blonde kid out from behind the organ, put him up front, stick a salami down his pants and maybe then we would have a chance! We just said, ‘ **** you, we don’t care.’ We were playing because it made us feel good,” recounts Trucks.

Does he really say this again and again, in every other interview, or is this just lazy reporting? (reporting old stories as new?)

I'm not a Butch-hater by any means, but it is irritating when he revises history to downplay everything Dickey and everything country-influenced. If you hate the country stuff so much WHY THE HELL WERE YOU IN BETTS HALL LEAVELL TRUCKS??

Does anyone else in that band ever do interviews? sorry but a mix of funk, and sophisticated Raga will never have a place in the ABB 's music for me.... But i do agree that Derek is one of the most original guitarists ..

I like Butch, in the same way I liked George W Bush when he was president, he makes me laugh a lot.

As I feel about them doing Led Zeppelin covers.

Heck, the stuff with Aretha on the Duane Allman Anthology could be considered funky. I like it all because you can’t put them in a box. Its all music to me.

Can I ask - how many times can you be upset by Butch saying the same things? You know how he feels about these things (although about half of the 'financial intoxication' thing came from the writer, not the subject), and you know he doesn't hold back. I understand why people don't like some of the things he says, but knowing that's his opinion and that he's consistent in saying those things, why read the interviews?

Music reporters also tend to ask the same questions over and over again.

Was he referring to Dolan? I've heard worse from posters here when it comes to that guy...

I do not think Chris Robinson sat in w/ the ABB in '09. Nor was Derek 14 in 1990. I saw him at 14, and it was either 93 or 94. Some typos in there too.
