Who's got my dates?

I am reserving the month of August for the ABB. Here's hoping they come somewhere close to Indy, a Deer Creek date would be excellent.

Who would you like to see as the opener (I know, an Evening with the ABB is preferred).

I'd say there's a solid chance for a 2 or 3 week NE US run. I always prefer An Evening With, but they would probably have to be paired up with another act to make it financially successful.

Over the last few years who have The ABB been paired with? and who made a good match?

Gov't Mule or Derek & Susan works for me.

Over the last few years they toured with Widespread and Ratdog. I can't stand Ratdog, but I think they had good attendance because of that pairing. WSP worked out pretty well too I think. Doobie Brothers a couple of years ago was probably pretty successful.

Derek and Warren's projects would be ideal for me, but probably not the most financially sensible move for the band.

Gregg and Warren have both talked about a summer tour like they want it to happen, but they're not sure if it will. So you're not going to see any dates soon. Gregg is touring from late June through mid-July, Derek and Susan have a few shows around the same time, and Warren has a few shows in early July and a few scattered ones in June. So it looks like there's an opening in late July or August, but assuming we do get a tour, it's likely to be short. Warren pointed out that Gregg just put out a new album, and Warren and Derek and Susan both have new albums out in the spring, and they're all going to tour behind those albums. Maybe we'll see a couple of weeks in the summer and another brief tour in the fall/winter like last year.

I hate I missed them with Tom Petty. That would be NUTS to see them pair up for a tour again.

I actually didnt like the Tom Petty shows. The ABB set that I saw was very "hits" oriented... Not to mention a very short set. I believe just an hour and a half.

I personally loved the ABB/WSP tour. Loved how they came out and played with eachother. It was a solid night of music for sure.

Would love to see this combo for shows that are not 'An Evening With...'

The summer tours from teh past few years have had these pairings in CT:

moe/ABB

DTb/ABB/Tom Petty

Ratdog/ABB

WSP/ABB

Plenty of jamming and guest spots between the bands. I dug 'em all. The DTB/ABB/Petty was my fave, 3 great acts in one night, but then the WSP night was Jimmy Herring-tastic.

I really missed not having the ABB in my summer last year. I did get to see Derek & Susan, and I could live with that again!!

Are the ABB really going to go three years without doing an Atlanta show? Are we on double secret probation?

They also did a co-headlining tour w/ Phil & Friends one summer 99 or 00.

I'd love to see the ABB bring Wet Willie ... or the Capricorn Rhythm Section (essentially the "Laid Back" band) out with them!

Phil (Lesh) and Friends was another opener on recent tours.

I'd really (as in REALLY) like to see a tour with Steely Dan! Live from Swamp F*ck, GA!

I can't believe that will happen. But then, I would not have believed it would have happened in yrs 1 or 2 either.

You might be on to something there Rusty re Wt Willie! Steve Miller is probably the realistic choice, however. Each draws, but needs some help selling out shows.
